Ah, The Melting Pot. I love you! I’ve been here a few times before, and the service has typically always been good. There was one time I came here a long time ago and had a new server who wasn’t the best, but other than that isolated occasion, every server I’ve had here was great. My sister and I came here the other night for their BFFF(Best Fondue Friends Forever — how cute) promotion, which was a discounted 4-course meal. The meal was fabulous as always. Filet, steak, chicken, and shrimp were the main course with a delicious cheese fondue and Caesar salad that came before. The manager was nice and took our dessert/chocolate fondue order, and could tell that my sister really wanted dark chocolate and I really didn’t, but she took one for the team. We ordered the«make your own» with milk chocolate and Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur. When it was brought to us, the manager also gave my sister a bowl of dark chocolate. That impressed me! My only issue with our experience, was that at a nearby table, a different waiter gave his guests free BFFF bracelets. I was so excited about getting a free bracelet.(Yes, I’m a dork) Now, please tell me why we were not offered those bracelets?! SMH Ugh, I wanted to say something but didn’t. I don’t know if they ran out, and that table of two happened to luck up and got the last ones or what. But I do not like being treated differently from anyone else, as I’m sure most people don’t. Aside from that affront, it was a lovely evening. Come here for special occasions or romantic dates, or a good girl’s night out. Just beware that the four-course meal takes a good 2 hours to get through from start-to-finish.

It’s not dinner, it’s an experience. Service was excellent. Food was plentiful, good, and fun to prepare. If you are going for a full dinner, prepare to spend 1.5 — 2 hours here. It’s a multi-course meal and it just takes a while to make it through it all. A full meal is on the expensive side but the experience is well worth it.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary tonight, it was our first time getting fondue! This place is wonderful! Lovely service and lovely food. A lot of reviews say it’s pricey, and for what you would pay for food eating out it is a little pricey but very worth it! We both got the 4 course meal and our bill was just under 100 dollars, a great price to pay for such a nice place! Definitely recommend for special occasions!

This was the third time we’ve been, and we may not go back. First time was fun & yummy; second time the waiter kind of forgot we were there; and third time the waitress had a terrible cold and was sniffling and coughing all over us. The service seems to have gone downhill in only a couple months, but to be fair this is an issue for the managers/owners. Servers should not have to come to work when they are ill, they should have paid sick days. This was unacceptable, especially at a restaurant that markets itself as a high price special occasion place.

Our service was exceptional. The hostess was so sweet and peppy. Our server, Patrick, was quick witted and rather cute if I do say so myself. I loved the place. Dim lighting hushed voices smiling staff and decent fondue.

Love this place! Service was excellent and staff was very attentive and friendly! A little on the higher priced side, but for the amount of food you get, it’s definitely worth it. You wouldn’t think you would get full off of fondue, but they offer 4-course meal menus that include so much dippers and food portions so, all in all, this place is definitely worth giving a try!

This is the second time that I have eaten here & the LAST. Went last night with 3 other girlfriends. Our reservation was for 5pm. Seated promptly. Our server, Brian, started off wonderfully! He was so nice, attentive. He brought our drinks(owner came by to say hello, very nice touch), took our order, brought the first course & then it fizzled after that. Literally. Had to ask 5 different(to get salad, main course & dessert, water & the bill) times to other servers to please find Brian. It was like he was lost, had left the building or forgot about us. AWFUL service. Too bad, he was such a nice guy & said that he is one of the trainers. Really? Another table(with a different server, lucky) of 6 were seated behind us about 30 mins after us. They ate & left before our check came. I am not kidding. I get that it was busy last night. But The Melting Pot isn’t one of the those places you just show up. They knew by the reservations that they were going to be packed. The owner brought our bills, two of them were screwed up. Then he says«I know we dropped the ball». That’s it. No apology, no explanation. Bizarre. So we arrived at 5pm & we walked out the door(after having to ask for our bill twice) at 8:50pm. I think we made a new record or something for the most longest dinner ever. We still tipped him 20% because I know how hard they work but he seriously did not deserve it. I used to love Melting Pot. I will have to wait until I am in Chicago next time to go. Because I will never step foot in the one here.

I decided to treat my boyfriend to a new experience as neither of us had been here before. Like a normal millennial, I researched online before going and decided on the Playoff Pre Game Special which included a drink, cheese fondue and one entrée for $ 23. Sweet deal, right? Especially since I can’t really handle a lot of food. I figured I’d add on dessert and a few drinks. When the server asked for my order, I ordered the special only she wasn’t familiar with it. She went to go check with her manager while I pulled up the menu directly from their website. She came back and told me the manager had no clue, so I showed her my phone. She asked to borrow it to go show the manager. She then returned with the pregame menu printed off and we proceeded to order. We completed our order and as the server was finishing up, the manager comeover and pulls the menu off of the table, apologizing about not knowing about the special and then told us we couldn’t do the special and he was sorry for telling us we could. The manager said that it clearly states«before the start of the game.» I think the look of shock came over my face, as the manager was getting ready to leave the table and the server knew that was unfair. That was false advertising. You can’t give someone something and then take it back. Our server challenged the manager and asked if they could honor the menu since, you know, we had been told we could and had completed the order. His response, «I can’t press a button and change the menu.» False, sir, that is false. I served for 5 years. Managers can override everything. Well sir. I really hope that $ 40 difference really helped you make sales for the night, because I won’t be returning. For anyone wondering, this is not how you treat a first time guest. I’m upset over what happened, not the price. I expected to drop about $ 100 on dinner. The manager did comp 2 drinks, so there is obviously«a button» for that. More importantly, the server was great. Nicole was very friendly and attentive and she worked to help us have the best experience we could negative experience aside. The rating would be higher if it hadn’t been such an awful customer service issue.

All the food and our server was phenomenal. She was very friendly and talkative, and had thorough answers for all of our questions. My boyfriend and I are younger(early 20s), however neither the server nor owner who made rounds talked down to us or gave us any less attention than the older guests. The food was relatively pricey, but definitely worth it for the high quality of food and overall experience(the fondue is made at your table, and entrees are delivered raw and you cook them yourself at your table!).

Was craving melting pot so we went for dinner no special occasion. As usual it was delicious. Had the beer bacon cheese and a strawberry salad. Then had filet, chicken and shrimp for main with chocolate peanut butter for dessert. Always seems like it won’t be enough food but I always leave stuffed.

I’m usually not one to review chain restaurants, but this location in Delmar is awesome. Great staff and food. Great for a date or large gathering.

This is the best alternative eating style restaurant! My husband and I ordered the ultimate romance package($ 150) and it was worth every single penny. You get the 4 course, any entrée plus if you use Unilocal you get premium dippers! 12 long stem roses, champagne flutes, with two to take home, a picture frame and picture and a complementary dessert on top of the fondue. The wait staff was on point! Will come back again for that very special occasion!

What a great experience ! So much fun! The four cheese fondue was amazing. I also recommend the ying yang dessert! Our server Katie was great and very friendly. I would not do the oil pot next time though it started to get s little smokey towards the end.

One of the most fun restaurants you can go to. The melting pot has exceptional fondue dishes, perfectly prepared flavors of dipping sauces with outstanding cooking sauces for fresh steaks, chicken, vegetables, fruit and other cookable items. Worth going with a fun group of four or six, you will have a Great time! A long and totally fun evening. Service is attentive and smart, prices are slightly high, but you are paying for a full experience. The Delmar Loop area is lively after dinner.

Pricey but worth it every once in awhile for a special occasion(read, maybe once a decade). Husband and I beat the Vday rush and went in the middle of the week, which we greatly preferred because it was not crowded, more intimate, and the servers were very attentive and didn’t rush through the course presentations. We chose the special Valentines menu and enjoyed all 4 courses immensely. I think this place is definitely better if you go with 3 – 4 people so you can snag a table with two pots. Same price, but twice as much variety in cheese, cooking broth and chocolate. If you get there early enough, they have happy hour in the bar and you can enjoy a drink or two before you’re seated. Note that you have to pay at the bar; you can’t transfer it to your restaurant bill. We’ll be back sometime after 2025. :)

Extremely pricey but definitely worth it every once in awhile especially for a special occasion. We went while they had a special called the«Crave Combo» which included three courses for $ 21.95. They offer these kinds of specials every once in awhile so if there is one available, definitely take advantage of it because on any other day the bill can add up to at least $ 150.00 or more. The first course was the Quattro Formaggio Cheese Fondue(regularly 8.95 per person) with Premium Cheese Fondue Dippers(regularly 2.95 per person). The cheese fondue was really good and apparently it’s the most popular one according to our server. I liked the flavor of the pesto and it just had a rich, creamy and gooey texture because of the mozzarella. The premium dippers were a great addition, most of the meats were kind of salty but the summer sausage and cornichons were amazing bites! Second course were salads so the hubby and I both got The Melting Pot House Salad with the sweet and tangy House Dressing(regularly 5.50 per person). The dressing was on the sweeter side than I would prefer and the salad itself was pretty drenched but overall it wasn’t bad especially with the egg slices on it. For the third course we got the add on of the Land and Sea for $ 10.00(regularly $ 31.95) with the Seasoned Court Bouillon cooking style. It had filet mignon, chicken and shrimp. From past experiences and from this last visit I would have to say that beef and seafood are the best options when it comes to fondue because they cut the meat into pretty small pieces so that it cooks and that affects the texture of it, I just didn’t enjoy the chicken that much is what I’m trying to say here. I would also recommend trying the other cooking styles since it adds so much more flavor than just doing the complimentary one. Last but not least, the dessert course, the backbone of all things fondue! We tried the Chocolate S’mores(regularly 8.50 per person) and it was delectable! It came with a bunch of dippers but my favorites by far were the pound cake, pineapples and oreo covered marshmallows. Just a tip here too, if you want more dippers at the end you can ask for more and they will give you some, it’ll just be a smaller serving. We dined on a Monday which was also half price on wine bottles so we got a bottle of Moscato for $ 12.00!!! It was just a really great dining experience with amazing ambience and awesome service. There will be some bleeding from the pockets but that’s the price to be paid to feel like first class.

I hadn’t been to a Melting Pot restaurant in years so I decided I’d go with Sean on a Saturday before the Book of Mormon at the Fox. We had a reservation for 4:30pm and I was a little paranoid that it was going to get cancelled or something due to some of the more recent reviews on here about their staff being«in training.» Thankfully all went well and we were seated, but even though we got there right around our seating time, we still had to wait for about 10 minutes which I found odd but maybe they had to prepare the table… not sure. Our server was pretty good in terms of bringing us stuff in a timely fashion but damn, he was a bit awkward. I felt like he was trying really hard just to be nice or maybe it was his personality. I don’t know. I secretly wished we had a different server the whole time. :-( We were using a coupon we got in the mail(random, yeah?) for the Classic and it ended up only saving us like $ 15 but hey whatever. It basically covered the sales tax. We ended up spending about $ 110 or so. Out of all the times I have come here in the past, I’ve never actually had the part where they bring you broth and you dip the raw meats and veggies in and let it cook then dip it in the sauces they bring you. Pretty cool, but this kind of concept is all over Japan… in Sapporo they called it «ghenghis khan»(no joke, I have no idea why… and it’s all lamb meat) and also«shabu shabu» or «sukiyaki” – beef you cook yourself. I wish there were more places like this in the US! It was pretty good at the Melting Pot but I feel as though they severely overseasoned a lot of the meats. I had to scrape some of it off. Drink wise I had a house pinot noir and also the fruity rum drink, something about a sailor. It was pretty tasty but nothing I couldn’t whip up at home. Next time I’d only get wine. We also tried the brie and bacon specialty fondue – it was on the specials menu that night. Not bad. For dessert we had plain chocolate. Everything tasted exceptional. Sean likes this place better than Stone Cellar Fondue on Main Street. I like it just as much, but it’s a little too expensive to go there every weekend, plus I felt like I was about to give birth to the mother of all food babies afterwards. Was in a serious triptofan-induced food coma post meal and nearly passed out at the tail-end of the show at the Fox. I think we’d only come here again for a special occasion due to the price…
