Sssssssoooo gooooooood. I got a black and white cookie and an orange blueberry muffin. I don’t even like sweets, but I would go back here every day of my life if I could. Like, whoa.

Updating my review on new goodies I’ve tried!!! Till this day, piccone still has the best pastries and super friendly service in STL!!! The past few times I’ve been here… I’ve absolutely fell in love with their espresso gooey butter cake. Omg it’s to die for! I’ve also tried a few of their other cannoli’s and French Vanilla is still my favorite! Along with their seasonal pumpkin pie! I’m also still in love with their tiramisu! I don’t care for the gluten free but the regular one is amazing! It’s a bit pricy! Wish they had Unilocal check in deals for all other pastries! Will definitely return!

Cannolis amazing, cakes amazing, coffee delicious. Very reasonable prices as well. I really found it hard to fault the quality of food and friendliness of staff. There are however a few problems, maybe related to the location. Being approached by someone begging for money while seated in the back and enjoying a coffee was pretty crappy and felt unsafe. The lack of attention to clean off tables where previous patrons had been sitting was noticeable. Maybe it was the 9pm timing or just the crowd around the Loop, but I have to say that going back in the future will be for carry out only.

I love Piccione! The pastries are decadent. My family regularly orders cookies for special occasions, and the cannoli are to die for! I would easily say these are up there with the best cannoli on the East Coast. The atmosphere is low-key and chill.

After hearing about Piccione on social media I was anxious for my first visit. When I was home for xmas, my Celiac niece and I were anxious to try a gluten free canolli and other gf goodies. We were not disappointed… the gluten free cannoli was really, really good. But, the chocolate torte was even better. This is truly a great bakery! They really know what they are doing at Piccione. I hope on my next visit they will have more gluten free items other than the naturally gluten free things like meringues and chocolate hazelnuts cookies. Would love to see them do a different gf pastry, cake, brownie, or tiramisu a couple times a week or on the weekend in addition to the cannoli. Thank you for offering gluten free!

Ok. I have to totally take back my last review. My family was given a generous box of many of the pasteries and cannolis available and the cannolis are AMAZING. I have tried vanilla, cookie dough and original and all were equally satisfying. The shell was perfectly crisp. Each filling was unique and perfect. The presentation is beautiful. All of the cookies are on point too. Only tried one I didn’t like. Definitely a great spot. I’ll be back for more.

My second time here, and I have to say it was a overall great experience. I was on my way to run some errands by foot and stopped here for a quick bite which seemed a little hard, the sandwich was like 10 minutes, but I was the only person ordering breakfast so I don’t hold it against them. I got a frap-picione and it was really nice. Clean place, courteous staff, pleasant atmosphere. Food was delicious, beverage was delicious. Can’t imagine I’ll be away for long.

On the day of my visit I was really not in the mood for their claim to fame cannolis. Luckily their other offerings were just as amazing! The ricotta cheese cake was the best cheese cake I ever had: thick wedges of fluffy, fresh, creamy fillings… mm mm. Must try!

The gluten free cannoli(I got the one with the chocolate chips in it) are beyond words! Really… my next visit to St. Louis will be planned around those heavenly things! Seriously folks… they tasted better than the regular gluten-y ones! The rest of the gang also loved their cakes and cookies… honestly. Just walk in there blindfolded and point to something, I bet it will taste amazing! Thumbs up Piccione!

I have never really been a big fan of cannolis but Piccione sure changed my mind! I actually didn’t settle for a traditional cannoli since the bakery offered so many different kinds. I grabbed a vanilla cannoli and it was absolutely delicious. The sweet creamy filling was perfect. Try the vanilla! You won’t regret it! The shell was also amazing. The cannolis I have tried in the past all had semi-soggy/soft shells, so I was worried Piccione would sell the same, but I was so wrong! The cannoli shell had the perfect amount of crunch. Will definitely come back to try the other desserts.(PS– they also sell vegan tiramisu! so they seem to cater to all types of people :))

ughhhh piccione has a big place in my heart. one of my favorite places in all of saint louis. it would be even better if the interior didn’t give off such an industrial/factory vibe, but whatever! their food makes up for it. I LOVEYOUPICCIONE thank you for existing in my life. ok i’ll stop being so dramatic but whewww they have so many great options. of course, their cannolis are amazing. i especially love the pistachio ones and the chocolate chip ones. and you must try their flourless chocolate cake, especially if you are a chocolate fanatic. it changed my life. the only time piccione kind of disappointed me was when i tried their huge cream puffs. The décor was amazing! but the bread needed to be lighter and softer, and ionno… something just didn’t really harmonize right. but overall, seriously, you have to try this place.

This place popped my cannoli cherry. I have never had cannoli. I feel like little, cheap, crappy cannoli are mass produced and sold for fancy parties, just like a lot of cream puffs. And most of these are bad. I know that from experience with the cream puffs. So I decided that I wouldn’t bother eating a cannoli until I could eat one that was made by a bakery that takes their cannolis as seriously as I take my dessert. I had pretty great timing! This place has half price cannolis every Tuesday 7p-9p. After much debating over all the different flavors they offer, I decided to go with the chocolate chip — this way I would get to try the original cream, but also get the chocolate I need. I only ordered one cannoli because they had so many other pastries that were catching my eye!!! There were enormous cream puffs and beautiful cookies and coconut macarons and the list goes on. After a lot of help from the nice man at the counter, I chose the S’More Cassata and two little Boccis. The chocolate chip cannoli — I’ve always looked at connolis and assumed that the pastry itself might be tough and chewy, possibly hard to bite through. While I’m sure that could be the case with those crappy, frozen cannolis from Sysco, it certainly wasn’t the case with this beauty. I felt the pastry was reminiscent of flaky, tender pie crust. The ricotta filling was described to me as «rich, like a cheesecake», but I disagree. While the consistency is similar, the flavor is mild in comparison — it’s not overly sweet and doesn’t have that sharp cheesiness. Overall, it was extremely nice and I liked it more and more with every bite. The S’More Cassata had some awesome layers going on. I believe the bottom layer was the soaked cake, covered in a thin layer of chocolate ganache, then a thick layer of marshmallow crème, another layer of soaked cake, then a thick layer of chocolate mousse and topped with a toasted marshmallow. This pastry, in contrast, was VERY sweet. Which I loved at first, but once I got half way through, I just couldn’t handle it any more. I eventually realized that most of the sweetness was coming from the soaked cake. So I ended up picking the thing apart and only eating the marshmallow and the chocolate, which were delicious and creamy and not so intense. Lastly, the bocci. What is that? Well, some kind of cookie dipped in dark chocolate. I’m not sure that it was a baked cookie — it tasted as if it was just hazelnuts, chocolate and sugar ground up and rolled into little balls before being dipped. It was absolutely rich and wonderful! It really made me remember the how much I love love that distinct flavor that hazelnuts have. On my next visit, I don’t think I’d get any of the cassatas because I just can’t handle the sweetness. However, I would love to try a fun-flavored cannoli and/or one of those chocolate cream puffs!

Modern. Classic. Delicious. Real. And a dream for this Midwest Italian girl who loves a good cannoli, or sfogiatella, or babba rum, or Italian cheese cake, or pasti — small custard pie. Or a cup of delicious lavazza coffee. The parking is free off street and easy. And you will love it here. It seems to be run by thus cadre of sharp young bakers who are always making stuff at the tables behind the cases. This is THEONLYPLACE in STL to get these shell shaped pastry called sfogliatella — no one makes them in the hill I’ve seen. I bee line it to piccones– every single time I got to stl. And for good reason. Yes yes the hill is Italian but — no place on the hill does it like this place does. It’s clean(amighetti’s on the hill is dirty like my grandma’s cellar), there is seating that invites you to linger and enjoy another plate of cookies — no place on the hill makes me want to do that! They have ice cream and frozen treats like affogatto — which will make you cry they are so good. And gelato — in one single place. They don’t do bread. But they do traditional. Italian cookies. They have modern tasting cannoli with a rotating selection of flavors including gooey butter cake, coco and seasonal. They also offer brunch and sandwiches which I haven’t yet tried. I can’t rave enough on this place. I have place special orders and they are always boxed and fresh ready to go. I love this place. I will be back. Again and again. They place such cool music!

Piccione Pastry’s brunch has eluded me for almost a year. I either missed it, forgot it, or didn’t have the time for it! I didn’t miss it, I didn’t forget, and I made time for it today. I ordered the Italian Toast, which is a pound cake pan seared and topped with a fresh fruit compote and dollop of mascarpone cream. I thought I would be using syrup but there was no need. The«toast» was sweet enough on it’s own. It was just enough. Just like the mascarpone cream, it wasn’t overpowering. I ate it all effortlessly. Since I like having a meat dish with the breakfast I also ordered the Frittata for myself. The pastry crush was flaky. What I have always liked about this place is that their crusts are not sweet but not bland, and not too savory either. It’s a perfect moment of satisfaction when the crust melts in your mouth. The filling was good too but not particularly remarkable however. My partner ordered the Ricotta Pancakes. Normally I am not a fan of pancakes. I find them too heavy and dry. My partner and I agreed these were the best pancakes we’ve ever eaten. Light, airy, soft and not dry at all! They did not skimp on the blueberries and while we did eat them with syrup I think we would have enjoyed them just as much without them. Free iced coffee was offered for ordering brunch. It was very bitter and strong coffee. A negative for me, but a positive for someone out there, I’m sure. I won’t be back for the coffee but I’ll be back for brunch.

This place is great. As many times as I walk around the Loop, I somehow always seem to miss this place(maybe because its at a busy streetcorner?). Plus I’m not really big on Italian bakeries, especially cannolis. Very sweet and filling, I must say! I had the traditional and the gooey butter cake plus a soda. Great for the price. Excellent service too and the people were very patient and helpful. I can’t wait to try their other items. Be back soon!

Piccione Pastry does not disappoint. The very best thing is the Tri-Color Cookies(the same as what New Yorkers would call Rainbow Cookies.) It’s not an item that’s easy to come by in St. Louis. Some other awesome items are the Black & White Cookies and the Florentine Cookies. Of course the cannoli are excellent as well. I tend to like some of the more simple flavors more than some of the wild flavors. This weekend when I stopped in they had a Margarita flavor? Not sure about that but plain and chocolate chip are always a winner.

Pretty good stuff. I tried the salted caramel gelato, the cookie dough cannoli, and the tiramisu. So the gelato… Yes it’s pretty good. But it’s difficult for me because there is another place not too far away that serves this same flavor of gelato and it is absolutely my most favorite dessert right now. So this gelato had some big shoes to fill. It didn’t disappoint, by any means, but it wasn’t my one true love. The cannoli was excellent, and the tiramisu my friend had was a hit with her! And she literally gets tiramisu everywhere we go, and it was one of her faves. There is so much more here that I want to try so I will definitely be back, and hopefully I can update this with more insight into what else they have that’s rad!

So many desserts and cannoli! Like others have mentioned, cannoli are half price on Tuesdays 7 – 9 and I happened to pay my first visit during then! There’s a wide selection of flavors that made my mouth water. I eventually went with the cookie dough and was not disappointed. Hope to come back for some of the other desserts!

We stopped in to Piccione this morning for a quick bite before we hit the road back to Chicago. Originally, I was only going to order the yogurt parfait, but then I saw the gooey butter cannoli(I mean, my WORD does it get better than this??) & had to get that, because when a pastry shop has gooey butter cannoli, you order said cannoli. It was ridic. Very, very good… flaky shell/crust/whatever that part is called & a super creamy, super gooey-buttery filling. My boyfriend, on the other hand, had the rum baba & he quickly learned he should’ve asked what it was before ordering it… wayyyyy too sweet. Like, a Twinkie® soaked in simple syrup sweet. I love sugar/sweets and I couldn’t even eat this. He had one bite & was done. Very cute little shop, unique pastries & friendly service… my small complaint is that there isn’t a real ordering system set up… You just stand randomly at the counter & hope someone is not busy enough to help you. My one regret? Not buying that giant meringue.

Pretty good gelato. Not quite what you find in Europe but similar enough to bring back a memory or two. I ordered chocolate for two reasons: 1. It’s what I do — always has been and always will be 2. It amuses me to see how animated the wife gets over the fact that I always order chocolate Creamy and rich with a healthy dark chocolate taste mixed in but not overly sweet. I will certainly go there again and I will defiantly order the chocolate time and time again! PS. She made fun of me for ordering the chocolate gelato but promptly got a meringue. Aren’t those things made of Styrofoam?!?
