Sushi is super fresh here and the portions are HUGE! Just on freshness and portion size this place is my favorite. The staff is always pleasant and I know the service can be a little slower than what people are use to but the wait is worth it so shh! Great things are worth the wait!

These people are rude, at least this was the case when I went there towards the end of the year 2015. The food is pricy for what you get. The waiter just keep on starting at us and did not say a word but instead they just took a couple that came right after us. When I complaint they said, they were there before us. I much prefer Satsuma Sushi. It is also pricy but the quality of the food is much better.

We came here for dinner and it disappointed me. We order 1 set katana sashimi and 3 special rolls for dinner. First of all, the waiting time for food is longer than normal, 2nd they brought everything at once (as we didn’t request it) so I guess that’s why it took so long. So because of that, our foods were cold and it tastes not good. 3rd their sashimi size is cut way too big, it likes a big chunk of fish. 4th their rolls were falling apart, not stick together. So far I don’t see I will come back here for Japanese food again.

My husband and I frequent this place. We’ve never really been disappointed with the food apart from things my father-​in-​law has ordered that haven’t been to our tastes with the exception of the cucumber salad which I inflicted upon myself. Every single place I’ve been to in the south bay has a nasty cucumber salad. We also don’t mind if service is slower because we usually aren’t in any hurry.
I usually get the salmon sashimi and my husband prefers the bento boxes. Their spicy tuna roll is perfectly spicy.

Looking for Japanese in Sunnyvale and I had forgotten about Katana. The slices of fish are almost three pieces as thick as other places. Started going back about 2 months ago and last night was our fourth since October.

The service was great but the food wasn’t. The rice was bad and the sushi kept falling apart. They also use imitation crab but don’t advertise it on their menu. The food just didn’t seem fresh, I wouldn’t go back.

This is not Japanese sushi at all.
Sushi rice is bad. Real sushi rice is mixed with vinegar, but it isn’t here.
Gyoza is too soft and is not baked well, no spicy sesame oil with it.
I don’t want people to think this is Japanese sushi.

I came here for a work lunch with a group of about12 people. The customer service was very attentive to our needs. We were tucked away in the corner for our large group and ordered accordingly. The sushi rolls were very good, big cuts of fish, yet difficult to eat because they were large ! I guess you can say that’s a good thing. Good price and good service will definitely have me coming back when I’m in the area.

Unique sushi rolls at reasonable prices.
I ordered the Crazy Atomic and Osaka tolls which came warm, perfectly prepared and delicious. Portions are generous. Atmosphere is balanced between «dinner with friends» and «work function» (there was one in their private room while I was there).
I’d definitely go there again to try more choices.

First time here as one of my friends moved in the neighborhood. To satisfy her pregnancy craving… This was the spot to go to. Price is great and portion is a healthy serving. Stuffing one slice of the sushi roll was hard to fit in my mouth! YES… I stuffed it all in and covered my mouth!
Come here for the sushi but not the dessert. Was hoping for a great tempura ice cream… But wasn’t too impressed. Wished I took a picture of it so you could see how they went whip cream crazy and chocolate syrup crazy. Instead of highlighting the tempura ice cream, they hid it. Wish I took a picture of it to share because I won’t be getting it again!

Came to dine in for lunch one weekday. The service was fast and the waiter was quite friendly! Cute place inside! I ordered the bento box with the tempura roll, chicken teriyaki, and beef teriyaki. Definitely did not like the chicken teriyaki! It was average and not nearly as good as the beef. My roll was very basic as well. But I would definitely go back :)

Almost missed the place, hidden in the back of the Plaza. Really good sushi rolls if you like the saucy, big presentation rolls. We will return. Ordered the Hiroshima roll, Fi-​Yah roll, and green tea ice cream.

The portions are huge! You get miso soup, salad, rice, and your entrees! I picked the Alaska roll (salmon and avocado) and tempura. 6 pieces of Alaska roll + a generous portion of shrimp/​veggie tempura! I was stuffed!
The side order of the chicken karaage was also very good. Our eyes were much too big for our stomachs.
–1 star for the service being slow. The waiter was nice and I felt a little bad for him, but we were in a bit of a rush. Don’t come here if you don’t mind your meal taking at least 45 min-​1 hr. They definitely have a leisurely pace going on, but the food is fresh.
I will return to try their other lunch specials, plus their happy hour! Word on the street is that they have sake bombs during their HH…

Katana had really large tempura, but my California roll crab tasted off, like Safeway sushi off.
My tempura banana was good and the chips were tasty, but the kitchen took quite a while to bring things out, even though the service was quite good. Our Gyoza was over built, fun, but in the end flash in the pan, basically this place to a tee.
Katana had a ton of extra’s, up front appetizers, free dessert, but I don’t think I’d come back. It was lacking in substance in the items we actually ordered and focusing too much on the extras they could dole out.
