So sad this place is closed! Hope it opens soon because the sushi is amazing and unlike any other place I have been to! I also love the ambiance and cleanliness of this restaurant. My favorite rolls are screaming potato and the lion king. I have been coming here for years and i really hope it opens soon :(

I’ve been meaning to write a review for this place but forgot about it until today, when I heard that the Sunnyvale fire department was called to extinguish a fire at this restaurant. By report there is extensive smoke damage so it is unclear when it will be open again.

Great food, great service minus the crazy incident a man came in with a fake toy gun demanding something I couldn’t hear. Management made sure his customers were ok and fought him out the building until the police came :)

This place is awful. I cancelled my order and left after waiting 45 minutes. Very noisy, unruly atmosphere with drunk birthday parties. I was treated like a nobody. Only got a fried calamari appetizer, it tasted like grilled cheese, awful.

We had the bento box with chicken teriyaki and avocado rolls. The salad dressing in it was smooth and the teriyaki was nicely done, with a well-cooked noodles tossed in it. The futo maki(if I remember the name correctly) was great too. The Fuji volcano was below average though. The service is okay, although the food comes out fast enough!

Went here for lunch as a 5-person group. Bento orders came out promptly, however sushi rolls were severely delayed due to the sushi bar being understaffed. Waiter was kind enough to give a pretty steep discount for the delayed food and very professional in explaining the situation. Despite the delay, I wouldn’t penalize them for the performance of the sushi chef or waiter. One of the waitresses/female food runner could have been a bit politer; we tried to flag her down to ask about the delayed food and she just put her hand up to us and walked off. Could’ve at least investigated what our issue was and delegate to the right staff. Points off for her. Food was pretty good.

+ Seated right away — Received our appetizer, gyoza, at the very end. My chicken katzu was the first to come out; it was a very large portion of chicken, a side of rice, and a small salad which was sliding off of my plate. My BF’s sushi came out 15 minutes after and the gyoza,(appetizer) another 15 minutes in the end. Olleh was okay, nothing special. They need to work on bringing out their food in a timely manner.

LOVELOVELOVE this place! Love that you can have both Japanese food AND excellent hot Korean Tofu dishes… This is great for the family who loves both and everyone can pic whatever they want! Hubby always gets the dumpling tofu. Kids love the salmon teriyaki(which sits on top of yummy noodles) with the CA Roll and Gyoza… I personally LOVE their Ramen Tofu… love the flavor — with the tofu and yummy ramen! And when you order any Korean dish you get the Bön Cha’s(side dishes) Their sushi rolls are very good too — anything you order is good… The only negative is that when they are so busy — that service gets really slow… this last time hubby almost finished his dumpling TOFU before we got our bento. Even the rainbow-dragon roll took forever… :( Definitely our go to place…

I have been here in the past, several times and it was always a good experience, until today. I’m not sure if they have a new owner or what, but there seems to be all new wait staff because I don’t recognize any of them and the server we had was super confused about our order and so slow! Omg. So slow on service! I’m writing this as I’m still sitting and waiting for our food. It’s been 30 mins and only 1 of us has food out of 4… So disappointed. Never coming back. The food quality is not fresh either. So sad.

Love it!!! And, so does my daughter who insists on coming here all — the — time… I like the mix of Japanese and Korean dishes. I just wish you could get the Korean small plates as a side order. The fried chicken is delicious as well as the tofu soup. The portions are amazing large and we often over order and have to take home half of what we order. I still want to try the seafood pancake; it looks like everyone orders that as an appetizer. The fried potato shavings they serve with some dishes or the rolls is like sushi CRACK. Love it!!! We would order a bowl of the stuff if we could. The service is fantastically prompt and speedy. Our food always shows up in a blink. Our old favorites Sushi Tomi and Satsuma can’t beat the price for quality that we get at Olleh.

Cash and card accepted. Olleh is located in the Camino Oaks Plaza and is right across the street from DD’s Discounts and CVS Pharmacy. There is a lot of parking offered in this plaza parking lot. This restaurant also has a large TV for sports games and offers sake, soju, and beer(American and Asian beer). Pros: — Walked in and seated immediately on Wednesday, 9 pm — Nice décor — Super friendly staff — Delicious food(review for Korean food) — I would definitely recommend the seafood pancake and kimchi beef tofu soup Cons:(barely a con but just thought I’d list it) — The bean sprout side dish didn’t taste right. It tasted like an imbalanced mixture of sesame oil and black pepper. Overall I would recommend this place and am definitely going back. I was a little skeptical at first since they have Japanese AND Korean food but I really enjoyed the food(Note: I am writing this review based on the Korean food as I didn’t order any of the Japanese food). I’ve tried tons of Korean places and Olleh’s tofu soup has really good flavor compared to many other restaurants that serve tofu soup and the seafood pancake perfectly balances batter to seafood to veggies.

I haven’t been to this restaurant since it changed its name from Chocolate Sushi, and if you know when it happen you know its been a while. A long while, yet the name change was the only change here. The menu is the same and the decoration is the same. I came with a big group of women at around 9pm. i think they were about to close but am not sure. The place was almost empty and our server was fast to bring menus and drinks and she was very patient with us. i felt bad for her since she came back a few times and the women around the table kept talking and did not order. We ordered late and the food came fast as well, its easy when you’re the only table in the restaurant. The food plating is beautiful and colorful just as I remembered it; extremely appealing and appetizing. We also received complementary small plates of sprouts, stir fried nodules, and vegetables, I don’t know if its always like that, or because we were the last table for the day, or if its because we were a big group with big order, any how it was fun. The sushi was delicious. I don’t remember all the dishes, but I had the dragon roll which I fondly remembered and was very happy with it. my friend who doesn’t like raw food had the chicken Teriyaki roll and loved it although she said the chicken was a bit dry, we also had the mango avocado roll, a Bento box(huge plate can be shared by two people), Tofu soup(not the best dish on the table), salmon sushi, and two more dishes… all in all everybody were extremely happy with the food. I took some pictures but when my food arrived ii concentrated in eating — heck it was late and i was hungry! Pleasant sitting, good for groups, or individuals, good service, good food, reasonable prices… I don’t know why I stopped coming here and I will definitely be back.

«Sushi & Tofu» It’s like 2 of my favorite things to eat put together under one roof! Olleh is wonderful and beautiful restaurant located off El Camino. They are off to the side in a small shopping plaza, so it’s easy to find and there’s plenty of parking. You walk in and are greeted by a beautifully decorated interior. Very dark and bold colors with a lot of wooden accents. Korean & Japanese are on the menu tonight, and you can’t decide what to get. As a result, you order a little of everything(those giant magnified photos in their menus don’t help). The meal starts with a cup of Miso Soup, then the 6 Korean side dishes, then your appetizer, then the sushi roll, then your entrée. I was already full before my entrée! I had the hot sizzling tofu BiBimBap. No seaweed to make it vegetarian/vegan friendly. They give you so much food it’s not even funny. I was overwhelmed with the amount of food given to me. So much mushrooms, bean sprouts, carrots, zucchini, and fried tofu! It was really delicious, but I was getting way too full to enjoy it. Service is very friendly and on top of it. The timing was great for everyone’s dishes, even though our table got a little bit of everything. All the sushi lovers were happy. All the tofu lovers were happy. Olleh hits it on the nail!

I always have a good time and a full belly at Olleh Sushi and Tofu. I love Ama Ebi and this place serves up fresh and large servings of Ama Ebi. The fried heads are wonderful too. I love crunching on the crispy thin shrimp legs while sucking the warm brains out of the shell. YUM! The large assorted sashimi platters, specialty rolls, and appetizers are great for couples and large groups to share. The fish is very fresh and clean tasting. I am always served a great selection of fish whether in my chirashi or on a sashimi boat platter. The Korean food is equally good. My family likes the short ribs and the hot pot dishes. The tofu soup is just OK. The broth is standard and I have had better tofu soup in the area. I recommend passing on the tofu soup since there are a variety of yummier dishes on the menu. The service does need some improvement. The staff will seat you promptly and take your order. However, you will need to wait, look around, and wave down any staff member if you need a refill on drinks or want to order more food or dessert. This is the biggest bummer about this restaurant and the main reason for the 4⁄5 star rating. Overall, I really enjoy the food at Olleh. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great sushi experience in Sunnyvale.

Came here with my nursing preceptor sometime last week for lunch. We came at a good time(around 11:30), then it immediately started to get busy. I like the ambience of this place, and the bathrooms are clean. Service is decent, but they were a little slow on getting my my order… My preceptor ordered a teriyaki salmon bento box and I ordered seafood tofu soup(eating seafood cuz we both gave up red meat for lent hahaha). I tried the veggie tempura from my preceptor’s entrée, and it was nice and crunchy… the batter wasn’t overbearing… This was my frist time eating tofu soup, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. It came in a clay pot, and it had tons of tofu, some shrimp, and lots of clams… it didn’t taste bad at all nor was it the greatest thing, but I got tired of eating it pretty quick… My dish came with purple rice, which was good, and some ban chan… I think I made a whole meal out of that more than I did with my main entrée haha… I’m willing to give this place another try b/c they have a lot of good-looking stuff on their menu… especially their special rolls…

I was in the middle of having one of my vicious cravings. Sushi, Korean, and some ramen. I was in town doing some errands, and my boyfriend and I decided to pick a random place before heading back to the east bay. I saw this place have 3 and a half star, but decided to read the reviews and browse the pictures before I said no. Glad I did, because I liked what I saw. Bunch of the people giving three stars or less was complaining about slow service, but that didn’t happen to me. Kevin was an amazing server. Though, he was busy doing the lunch rush, he still managed to take good care of us. The food was delicious, we had nothing to complain about. The spicy tuna salad was sweet and spicy. I ordered the seafood tofu soup and added in ramen. The soup was phenomenal but the ramen, was like instant noodle. I got side dishes, and the cucumber was so delicious, I asked for some more. We also ordered a roll, forgot the name of it, but it was yummy in my tummy.

More like a 3.5. Only came here cause Bonchon was closed across the street, but I’m somewhat glad I did because the food itself was good. I was in the mood for Korean and this place served it, along with Japanese food. I ordered the 3 item dinner bento box, and chose the Korean bbq short ribs, chicken katsu, and teriyaki salmon. All were really good, and with all the sides that came with it(rice, kimchi, pasta etc) the wasn’t bad for under $ 20! The short ribs alone were almost worth it, and were pretty tender and flavorful. Only downside was the service. Our server wasn’t that too attentive, and was slow. I had to wave him down for water numerous times, and he forgot to give me the check not even a minute AFTER he just said he would get it! It literally took about 20 mins to ask for the check, pay, and leave.

Korean and Japanese food in one place? Meh, I was thinking. But… what was I thinking? How cool is that? Actually I loved the experience and had a great time with my Mexican friend and her 2 kids who eat this food with no complains whatsoever(we were all initially looking to eat Mexican food somewhere nearby, but then my friend wanted to show me her favorite Asian restaurant close to her house… the Olleh(sounds like Olé, Olé!) Sushi and Tofu House. I ordered one of those Korean combo veggies and beef plus rice and egg, all mixed up and could not finish it, as it was gigantic! It was delicious as well as the other tapas preceding this dish plus the soup. My friend had a huge salad that I would say could have suffice for the 4 of us. The kids could not stop eating their sushi portions either. We had a great time in a pleasant place, not super fancy but comfortable, with great food.
