Things Remembered

I was a little wary of going to this place to have an expensive watch that I bought elsewhere engraved. However, after being brushed off by a local engraver, I decided to drive 45 minutes and take a chance. Things Remembered did a wonderful job! I paid about 30 bucks, the engraving was correct and flawless. The best part is that they had a 12 hour turnaround time. The watch was ready just in time to be given as a gift for our anniversary. Great experience with Things Remembered. I recommend them.

Bought a frame and had it engraved here for Mother’s Day. While filling out the form, my sister and I discussed with the clerks on staff several times to get the exact pricing and information on what they could and could not engrave.
We got verbal confirmations multiple times that symbols such as a ^ or ’ etc. could be done, which is especially important since we are Vietnamese and those characters are in our names. The day we came to pick it up, the characters were missing, and the clerk seriously said to us, «Oh, I didn’t even notice those» when I pointed out that they forgot to add the symbols in the engravement. HE WAS THERE WHEN WE WERE FILLING OUT THE FORM!
The other woman who was working the machine did not apologize, but only said that «certain fonts do not allow her to insert those characters» and that she could put it back in the machine to have it fixed later. These two comments are conflicting with each other («I can’t add the characters with that font, but I can add them if you wait an hour»???) and just sound like she was trying to cover for the fact that she made a mistake.
We paid $ 3 per word to be engraved, yet they did it wrong, and were unable to help us to make up for their mistake. Instead, they suggested that we just «give it to our mom» then take it back to have it fixed before she notices at a «later date.»
I did not pay $ 60 for a product to have it wrong, only to be inconvenienced and told that I need to come back to have it fixed for something THEY told us they could do.

I’m truly disappointed in this company. I purchased 4 different items in the store to have engraved. I was told 3 different times that my order was not finished after being promised it would be complete in a timely manner. I went to finally pick up my items today, to find out they spelled my son’s name wrong on ALL 4 things. The gentlemen that helped me was a joke. He actually said to me «I’m not going to lie to you anymore»! If you need an item engraved, fined a reputable company.

I originally rated this business 1-​Star but changed it to 2-​Stars after the manager made it right with me. Here’s my original review:
Today I spent $ 60 on a child’s necklace that was very poorly engraved. First of all, I asked that all the letters be capitalized, and they weren’t. The first letter of each word EXCEPT ONE was capitalized. The manager was extremely rude to me and I’ll never go back.
I still feel that the engraving here is pricey; next time, I’ll go to my personal jeweler. But, I was in a time-​crunch. I’m also disappointed that the pricing in the store is vastly different from the pricing online.

They did a very nice job engraving a pair of wine glasses that I had just purchased at Macy’s. Unfortunately they made a boo boo on one of the glasses. The immediately told me they would buy another set from Macy’s and fix the problem. They did indeed make it perfect in the end. The one and only reason I am not giving them all five stars is because of the store policy to destroy the glass they made the error on. They only reversed the order the names were supposed to be in, not a typo. It would have been really good customer relations if they gave the spare glass to me to keep in the event one of the glasses ever broke.
