I had the chicken fettuccine and it was amazing. Great taste and the atmosphere is nice and very social.

I came here based on a recommendation from a friend. The ambiance is enjoyable & the location is perfect within downtown. I was greeted friendly & seated in a timely manner. My boyfriend & I ordered the blue cheese burger. The wait staff spoke poor English. The burger was average with an iceberg salad. Prices were a tad high for the quality of food.

Breakfast scramble with chicken sausage and a blueberry pancake. My wife and I split the meal, plenty for us both. French press coffee was delightfully full bodied. Food was freshly prepared and outstanding. Loved the ambiance! Felt like eating in a Parisian café!

«Flavors,» isn’t flavorful enough. Their service is mediocre, the prices are pretty high. It can get very crowded and loud during peak times such as happy hour & lunch time. I ordered a burger, it’s obviously artisan so I didn’t care for the price of a burger if it’s done right. I’m very American in the aspect of how my fries & my burger taste, especially if they compliment each other nicely. The burger was ok. Nothing too exciting. I liked the add one, but after adding mushrooms, grilled onions & avocado to it, it became a bit too pricey. The restaurant setting is obviously reaching for upscale dining, the service I can how story say doesn’t mimic their goal for top notch. Whenever I dine at a restaurant like this I always order a side salad, I as many other patrons expect the salad to come before the meal. The salad didn’t. It came AFTER my meal. Asking for a side of mayonnaise was a hassle too. The salad lacked a body, it was very far and in between on the toppings. Their dressing was, mediocre. Too much oil for my tastes. I haven’t returned after that very expensive and dreadful service. I ordered a Chardonnay when I originally ordered my salad, they didn’t bring my Chardonnay until I was completely done with my burger. It was a waste of time. I didn’t drink the Chardonnay as I would’ve preferred it beforehand, not after my meal was already consumed.

I was excited to try this place, but came away disappointed. We arrived here on New Years day, about noon. We placed our order and while enjoying a great cup of coffee, our server came back to tell us they were out of biscuits, a little disappointing, but no biggie. Next our server came with an order of blueberry pancakes while we waited for the rest of the breakfast. Finally after the pancakes were cold the server returned with only half of my order, just the eggs, no potatoes. When the potatoes finally DID arrive, our meal was finished. Though he did not charge us for the potatoes, I really just wanted a nice warm breakfast where everything came out at the same time. Plus, the eggs were — meh. It’s sad because I really wanted to like this place because it serves organic food. I’m willing to try it one more time, but probably not for breakfast and definitely not near or on a holiday. 1 star for a great cup of coffee.

Came here for dinner and dined indoors — the inside has a wine country-meets-French-bistro feel to it, with plenty of paintings of vineyards. The menu has mostly heavy options(a separate menu just for burgers) and a whole bunch of pasta. I ordered the bistro salad with escarole, bacon, croutons, and a poached egg. The salad is a little bitter, but is nicely balanced and not overly dressed. The service takes a while, and my friend was in the middle of finishing her fries when our table was cleared and the bowl was taken from right under her. Still, this is a solid dining option in Santa Rosa and has enough variety to appeal to different palates.

The Fraternity of Service, amazing food, and endless accommodations made our Christmas Eve memorable! I am a Sous Chef from Seattle and definitely recommend Flavors Bistro with 4.5 Stars!

This is definitely not a repeat buy. Our experience was so lackluster. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived around 6 on a Sunday night, but by the time we left, it had filled up nicely. Service was pretty good. I couldn’t decide which wine to order, so our server brought a couple tastings. I don’t know of any restaurants that do this, so that was a nice touch. We ordered the pear bruschetta to start. When it finally arrived, it was covered in beautiful thinly sliced pears. I picked up my first piece, took a bite and was immediately smacked in the tastebuds with the acrid flavor of scorched bread. The entire dish was completely scorched underneath. We sent it back and ordered another. After about 10 minutes, I saw the waiter approach with our entrees. We cancelled the bruschetta entirely. We figured we would get our appetizer before the entrée, and I realize the timing was screwed up, but — it really didn’t need to take as long as it did to bring the appetizer out in the first place. I guess it was that extra time cooking the bread that threw things off course. I ordered the chicken breast, with housemade sausage, white beans and spinach. The chicken breast was cut in half laterally and both halves were served. I will never understand this. It was so thin and dry and barely edible. This method is just SO Johnny Garlic’s. Why wouldn’t you just get a nice quality chicken breast and cook it perfectly, rather than slice it in half to save on cooking time thus sacrificing the quality! The homemade sausage had little flavor. The dish itself was so one-note, though. The onions took over, but it wasn’t just onion flavor. I LOVE onions. Raw. Cooked. Whatever. I am a fan of the onion. This onion flavor was that of burned onions. It just wasn’t right. My husband had the pork chops. They were not cooked evenly.(And again — why 2?) Nothing on his plate wowed him. But he did like it reheated a couple days later better than when it was first delivered. We ordered the grilled chicken breast and a house salad for our daughter. It came LADEN with black pepper and seasonings, as did the salad. She’s a purist. She likes her food plain and her vegetables untainted. No dressing. No pepper. Just give her the essentials and she’s happy. You can’t unpepper a salad, and there’s only so much scraping you can do on a piece of low-quality meat. Also — she basically got HALF a chicken breast, since the one on her plate was the equivalent of one of the TWO on mine. It was pounded so thin and was so dry it barely passed as chicken. Sorry to post such a sorry review after reading so many praises. We did not enjoy what they had to offer.

I don’t come here as much as I should. I am a huge fan of the brunch and mimosas. The specials are always fantastic, and fresh for the season. The wine selection is nice, and you can get bottles to go. I like to sit at the bar, because it’s comfortable and you don’t have to witness homeless people diving in the fountain.

We had some great appetizers. They were small portions but very good. I ordered the butternut ravioli as my main course. I wasn’t that happy with it. There are several positive reviews about it on Unilocal but it’s nothing I would get again. Was over powered with Parmesan cheese and the butternut squash filling lacked that flavor it should have. The atmosphere was great as well as the service. I would definitely go again but would avoid the ravioli. Seafood soup special looked fantastic!

We have been to Flavor Bistro several times in the two years since we moved up here. Last year we took a large family group here the day before Thanksgiving and they did an excellent job. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. A couple weeks ago we went for dinner to celebrate our friends’ anniversary. Not sure if it was an off night or what, but we didn’t have the best experience. The service was very good. The food was okay, just okay. For example, I had the short ribs. $ 22 for two ribs. Yes, it came with risotto, but that’s kind of pricey for not a huge amount of food. My husband had a seafood dish which also was good, not great, and also pricey. Our friends didn’t enjoy their entrees all that much; both said they wouldn’t order them again. We brought a nice bottle of wine with us, since it was a special occasion. When we got the bill, we were a little surprised that they charged us $ 20 to cork the bottle. That seems a bit high. Obviously they are pushing wine, since there are bottles and cases of it everywhere. We didn’t see anything on their wine list that looked particularly appealing. That’s rather high to open a bottle and wash 4 glasses; other restaurants in the area uncork two bottles free and they seem to be doing fine. Dinner for four ended up costing $ 200 with tax, tip, and corkage. For that kind of money, we could have had a fantastic meal, not just an okay one. Not saying we’ll never be back, but this meal didn’t leave us wanting more…

I walked in looking for s nice breakfast spot. The service is amazing. The food is delicious. The atmosphere leaves nothing to be desired. I got the veggie scramble for breakfast. Paired it with a mimosa and then I died and went to heaven. You can taste the great quality fresh ingredients. They make their biscuits in house and they have the prefect consistency paired with a light sweetness. Only made better with the fresh preserves they provide for you to use as a spread. Special thank you to Gerardo for making my visit absolutely amazing. If I’m ever back in the area you can rest assured this will be a must on my list.

We Ate Lunch Then Ran! This restaurant has an extensive menu with many items having two portion size selections and an outdoor dining area. Especially nice was the option of having gluten-free pasta. Those Little Tykes: Off the kid’s menu, we ordered the fettuccini with meat sauce($ 6.95) for the two little ones to share. Unfortunately, the kids didn’t eat much because they were getting tired of sitting while waiting for their food. When the food came, they had already filled up on snacks they found in my purse and then wanted to dance and not sit. Us Big Tykes: Me, I had the chicken fettuccini($ 16.95) with gluten-free pasta and sun-dried tomato sauce that had a nice balance of white wine, garlic and basil. The pasta was perfect and the chicken tasty. 5-Stars for the food. Give Her More: For the rest of the group, one order of Caesar salad($ 8.95) without croutons, plus chicken(an added $ 3.95). 5-Stars and only negative is that she wished she could have more. *Flat iron sandwich made with sourdough bread with fries. The sandwich was topped with grilled onions and mushrooms.($ 12.95) 5-Stars for this delicious meal with the perfect bread and meal. *Gnocchi($ 16.95), potato squares with chicken and sausage marina meat sauce and topped with cheese. Wonderful meal at 5-Stars. Service — A Total Miss: Service was friendly, but since our server came back to the table after about 20 minutes to verify our food order, we feel she slowed the kitchen down in getting our order in. 2-Stars for that miss. Yum-Yum 50 Minutes Later: Everything we ordered had great flavor, but it took too long for our food to be served. Since we had an appointment elsewhere, by the time our food came out(50 minutes later) we ate in a hurry, paid the bill and still ended up needing to package the rest of our food to go all at the same time. The Food Was That Good: If we did not have the toddlers with us and not in a hurry, we probably would not have minded the slow service. (*Sorry, since we rushed, two of my entrée pictures ended up too fuzzy to post.)

Food was decent here, though the crowd is a bit older and it doesn’t have much of a homey feel. I had the shrimp linguini, and the shrimp was large and succulent. I only wish I had more noodles, but this was a pretty solid option for a small town like this. There are some reviews here about the service, but it wasn’t too crowded the night I went, so I thought it was fine. I would probably come back again, but not go out of my way to get here.

Cute restaurant located downtown. Plenty of indoor seating with some outdoor. We sat outside. Service was very friendly. We couldn’t decide so we ordered steamed clams, local cheese plate, and Nina’s pasta. Steamed Clams: good sauce with cherry tomatoes & some garlic onions. The cheese plate was mediocre. Small sample Brie, goat cheese, and a creamy cheese(fontina?) honey on top all, walnut brittle & some raisins. Didn’t really like the combination. The pasta, my boyfriend loved it. It was okay with lots of tomatoes spinach in a garlic white wine sauce. Good thin angel hair pasta, homemade. We were both very full after that, so no room for tiramisu.

Came here last night with a group of 8. This place was recommended to us by our check in lady at the hotel we were staying at. This place is delicious. I had the shrimp pasta which was amazing!!! All the other people in my group seemed happy with their dishes as well… It ranged from lasagna to gnocchi to the braised short ribs. My BF did say that the braised short ribs were a bit salty but very tender. The service was good as well. The only and only complaint our whole group had was that it took FOREVER to get our food. Yes, it was pretty busy but by the time we got our food, the restaurant was practically empty. We waited for at least 40 – 45 minutes. Thankfully we had the nice soft bread and balsamic dipping. We had 2 baskets of it! BUT!!! The manager came out and offered us free dessert. Their service and their food is definitely top notch! Definitely would recommend and visit again if we’re in the area!

WOW! What a fabulous experience! Came here on mother’s day, without a reservation, and was seated very quickly for brunch with a party of 5. From beginning to end the service was outstanding and everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to help out. The food was AMAZING! Even the side of country potatoes was the best I’ve ever had! I had the chicken apple sausage scramble which was wonderful but I wish I had ordered the carnitas scramble that my mom got because it was insanely delicious! No one at the table had a bad word to say about the amazing meal and we all left perfectly content. Also, I ADORE the personal french presses that they give you when you order coffee. Such a nice touch and you’re not left asking for more coffee every 10 minutes! I’ve heard great things about dinner here, specifically the burgers and the Saigon Noodle dish… I will be back to try!

Ambiance is cool — the bar reminded me of an an old fashioned saloon, and they had soft French music playing. Lighting was dim, which would’ve been OK for dinner, but I’d appreciate brighter lights during lunch time. Service was fast and the servers were attentive. However when I asked for my leftovers to be boxed up to go, he passed my food on to another server who did not pack up the BBQ sauce for my burger. What we ordered… * Sauteed dungeness crab cake w/basil aioli and crispy shoe string yams. $ 10.95 for ONE crab cake, which thankfully was mostly crab rather than cake. Overall taste was delicious, but for nearly $ 11, this was a small dish. * Cowgirl Burger with organic baby spinach, balsamic glaze, caramelized onions, bacon, & organic Cowgirl Mt. Tam cheese. my husband enjoyed this very much, especially as he is a fan of Cowgirl Creamery cheeses * BBQ Burger with flavormade BBQ sauce, Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, & cilantro — jicama slaw. I was a big fan of the jicama slaw. I was not a fan of BBQ sauce being served on the side, but not at all on the burger. Overall, tasty burgers, but generally overpriced food. Not the best burgers I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. We just happened to be in the area after visiting the Charles M. Schulz museum and had a burger craving. We were lured in by the high ratings on Unilocal and that they had steamed mussels on the menu, but after looking at Unilocal photos, decided that the serving size looked too small for the asking price.

I have been to Flavor several times in the last five years or so. I hadn’t been in quite a while and I was disappointed by my last visit. Our waitress was lovely and helpful but overall it was not a stellar dining experience. The bread was delivered cold, but was tasty with the olive oil and balsamic. The three in my party all had a glass of the house red(Malbec) which was spicy and tasty. It seemed like our food took quite a long time to come(two basic pasta dishes and a salad) for so early in the day(530PM on a Friday). We were a bit rushed trying to make our movie at 6:40. I had the butternut squash ravioli and I was happy with the portion although I thought it slightly over priced($ 17) since it did not include any kind of protein. The ravioli were well made but I wished for more texture to the dish(nuts?). The brown butter sauce was tasty and I liked the addition of Parmesan cheese and fresh cracked pepper. My dining companions had the pasta napkins(okay) and the butterflied shrimp salad. The salad had a huge portion of beautifully cooked shrimp and my friend was very happy with her portion. Overall, I feel that Flavor is not the delicious powerhouse that it used to be in downtown Santa Rosa but it could be easily steered back to former glory. I would try it again, but it won’t be my first choice.
