Adagio Condominiums

Great condo, nice pools. Hard to find a parking space, beach is very narrow and crowded and not many convenient places to go too. Gotta go at least 20 minutes for starbucks or fast food. Pretty but too many cigarette butts lying around everywhere. Hard to see in the halls at night and 3 crazy stairways to the beach up and back.

We came to the Adagio 4 years ago for our wedding, and everything was great! Now, 4 years later, things have really changed.
First off, the good stuff… the rooms are big, pools are very nice and the beach is fantastic (although, does require about a 3 story stair climb down to the beach).
However, the maintenance and customer service at this place has really gone downhill. We checked into our room and found a burner control valve on the gas stove was busted. We didn’t realize at first and turned on the burner, but then could barely get it turned off and get the igniter to stop sparking. We called the office and they sent an appliance repair company. Once the repair people showed up, they were shocked that they rented the place with the faulty valve and said this was extremely dangerous and that they needed to shut the gas off until they could order and replace the part (gonna take several days…). So, now we’re without a stove. There are 8 of us staying in the condo, and we all brought food to make meals… guess that’s not happening. We went down to the grill, thinking we could cook some of the food we brought that way… but the grill was busted as well. We called the front office and all they would offer was to take $ 68 off our total stay! We have already paid ~$ 1500 to stay here for a long weekend and all they are willing to do is take $ 68 off… unreal! We also have a couple hundreds of dollars worth of food going to waste. We did learn a couple things from all this… bacon in the microwave is not very good. However, microwaved scrambled eggs aren’t as bad as it sounds!
A couple of other things we’ve found: a smoke detector in the bedroom has been ripped off the wall and is missing (pretty sure that violates the state’s rental codes, especially with a busted gas valve in the unit…). We also tried to play a disney DVD to help entertain our hungry and cranky 2 year old twins, but then found that the component wires connecting the DVD player to the TV have been cut.
There are many nice condos on 30A… would definitely recommend anyone considering the Adagio to stay somewhere else.

Very nice, clean, updated condos. We stayed in one on the ground floor closest to the main pool. The condo was very spacious with new appliances and comfy beds. The walk to the beach was not long, but consisted of a lot of steps (about 3 flights up and 3 flights down, I think). This is my favorite area of beaches. Hwy 30A is more upscale than Destin and I find the beaches to have a quieter environment.
