Pretty expensive with decent food. Two of us got burgers, and one got the chicken plate. It was meh. $ 6 for a 12oz bottle of beer too.

Stumbled upon here after we planned on getting a drink next door. This has been on my list of places to check out so I was stoked to finally make it here. I suggest getting here for happy hour or booking a table on Open Table. We got here at 5:30 pm and it quickly filled up by 6:00 pm! Parking is tight and thanks to my rear view camera I was able to get out with ease!!! But take this as a word of caution since it’s a tight lot. The décor is like I stepped back into what I imagined grandma’s doll house to be(in a good way) and they played mainstream country which was fun. Décor is definitely kitschy. Outside was adorable with lights and picnic style tables. Would have loved to sit outside if I had brought a sweater for the one week it was cold in SB! Now onto the food and service. Our waitress was really friendly and nice. Considering she was the only waitress I saw in the joint, she did a pretty good job checking in on us. Food came out fast but drinks were a bit slow as the night progressed along with seeing our waitress. No biggie, the food and drinks were good and I was in good company. The Blind Date was one of the better bacon wrapped dates. Bigger than Milk and Honey and I liked the bacon texture better. Habanero Pork Sliders had good spice but I rather save room for something else. Brussel Sprouts are shredded, sautéed. Wish they had a crisp and more flavor to them. I LOVE Brussels sprouts and this was disappointing. Classic Cheeseburger had good flavor but the fries were not crispy to my liking. Kai’s Pizza recommended by our waitress and was delish! It even stayed crispy when I ate the leftovers the next couple day. Manhattan was pretty awesome and would get it again and the Moscow Mule was really good. Not too sweet for me. I suggest checking out this place next time your in the area!

Great place. Great drinks, great food. While a little dimly lit, the feel of the place is cozy and«out of the way» from the hustle and bustle of State street. Since it was a Friday, it got busier around 6:30−6:45(towards the end of happy hour). It was a great experience and I would definitely come back with friends for a low key, chill get together.

Cute spot, great drinks, really yummy food. A bit pricey but decent to impress a date with the cool atmosphere. Probably would come more regularly for the happy hour. Highly recommend the brussels sprouts and fries(really thin fries, just how I like em!) … Desserts are out of this world too.

Perhaps surprisingly, I just had the best thin crust pizza in Santa Barbara at the Bourbon Room. This is a charming option in an increasingly commoditized world. There’s nothing on the menu I didn’t want to revisit.

I’m a pretty big whiskey drinker. Mostly I drink it neat, but on occasion I will have an Old Fashion or Manhattan. Last night I went with mixed drinks. I’m not sure what was missing from the Manhattan or what had gone wrong, but it was not good. I had also asked for extra sherry cherries, which they gave me… but they were not sherry cherries. They maybe were whiskey soaked cherries… and did not taste good. We left shortly after the drink.

Good food for the price, and their moscow mule is one of the best in SB. Place was fairly empty for a saturday night which was a good thing, as it was easy to get a seat and service was great! I had the BoRo sliders with carmelized onions which were really tasty! The habanero pork sliders were not as good, little dry and bland. Found myself wishing I had 4 of the BoRo sliders instead. The bacon wrapped dates were also delicious, it was offered with bleu cheese, but turns out you just get a side of it. Was disappointed that it wasnt actually incorporated with the dish which was misleading and difficult to eat with the dates.

Drinks were good. High quality and well thought out. I liked the Coupe Devllle the best. I ordered the Rum Cake based on the many reviews that said it was the best. I disagree. I’ve had better by far. The chocolate torte was like fudge not flourless chocolate cake. I did enjoy my experience there I just wanted to send out a review to give a different side to a few of the items that seemed to get rave reviews. This place is expensive too but this place is in Santa Barbara. i did like the fact that it was off the beaten path with no signage.

I’m so disappointed in the turn this place has taken. We live right around the corner and for the first year it was open we spent a lot of time there. In spite of the bad acoustics inside, it’s so loud, we love the ambiance. You feel as if you could be in another time and place. It’s not your average Santa Barbara bistro. However, the modern day cocktails are or WERE strong, delicious and worth the trip to Noleta on there own. So what happened!!! The food has gone so downhill consistently that we never bother to go anymore. We’ve made the mistake a few times because of convenience but we ended up regretting it. I really wish they would change things. Hopefully they are getting enough negative feedback that they will revamp Everything! They especially need to hire a chef, not a cook, a real chef. Until then, we won’t be returning.

Burbon Room switched it up a while ago & its just not the same. The quality of the food as suffered, the drinks are less boozy, and the servers don’t have the same personality they used to. I keep hoping it gets better but I’m thinking sadly this is the new normal.

Great food, beautiful atmosphere, delicious drinks and excellent service. The location is a little odd, but the restaurant itself is so cozy. Check this place out. It’s worth it.

Great food, great drinks, great staff & great atmosphere! Anna, the Manager/Partner is AWESOME. We always receive a warm welcome. The ambiance of the place is like stepping back in time to an old-time speakeasy. We haven’t tried anything there, so far, that we didn’t like. The menu is not extensive, but is fairly diverse ranging from burgers and pizza to a Spanish Sherry & Mushroom Filet. We love their«Date with a Pig»(bacon wrapped dates with honey), Kale chips or Bacon & Brussel appetizers. They have a small(4 oz.) Filet that is just the perfect size for me, along with a salad and some Sweet Potato Fries. YUM! When they first opened, we used to be able to drop in anytime and be seated right away. Now, the secret’s out and the wait can be anywhere from 20 – 45 minutes. But trust me, it’s worth it!

Step back in time at this saloon-style bar and gastro pub. Vintage wallpaper and furniture give the bar a charming, old-world vibe fit for sipping — you bet — bourbon. The food menu is limited, but well crafted, with a showcase of artisanal updates on classic favorites like turkey burgers, sloppy joe, and pizza. This casual, neighborhood bar makes you want to be a regular … or maybe a prohibitionist. Either way, it’s a great place for craft cocktails and bar bites without the fuss or pretentiousness that sometimes accompany dimly lit, speakeasy-style lounges … which of course I love too; but the laidback spin on this classic favorite gives the vibe a fresh, easy update.

The best! Great ambience, nice/fast service(but not the kind that makes you feel rushed), and incredible food! We’ve been here twice. The first time we got the pesto pizza and added prosciutto for our meal, and the Mahi Mahi tacos for apps. Everything was delicious, and my mojito was perfect– not too sweet, just right. This last time we split the bacon Brussels sprouts for our appetizer and they were as great as we’d hoped, and I had the Mahi tacos for my entrée. My fiancé had the alcazar steak and was a very happy camper! I’d like to come back for drinks with friends, as I haven’t even scratched the surface of their extensive drinks menu! Also– sit outside if you can! Pretty little lights and cool décor all over the place, as well as outdoor heaters should you get chilly. Go here! You won’t be disappointed.

For the gluten free crowd: please do yourself a HUGE favor and get the gluten free pizza! I have had a gluten allergy for a few years now, and I have been searching for a replacement pizza for us GF suckers for just as long, but most places come up so woefully short. Although The Bourbon Room’s pizza isn’t as good as gluten pizza(Because nothing can be, let’s be real), it is the closest I’ve gotten. I’m actually writing this review from Seattle right now, where I moved months ago, because I am thinking about their gluten free pizza and I have yet to find a pizza as good here. So please, just go and order it. If not for yourself, then for me. (Also, the drinks here are awesome, and the ambience on the porch is great)

I love the Bourbon Room! Been there 4 or 5 times now, and there are some things I have to have every visit: Kai Pizza with smoked salmon is amazing — very original, super flavorful and satisfying(pesto, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and lox on a very thin yet very crispy crust). Big enough for a two-person dinner or as a starter for 4 – 6 people. I just wish I could find this at a restaurant near my home in New York. We like going here for a shared small-plates experience, and the diverse menu works well that way. I’m a fishatarian, so I can’t comment any of the meat items. But I’ve had about half the cocktails menu, and am looking forward to the other half.(It’s important to set personal goals.) My favorite BR items, apart from that pizza: Fish tacos are sort of hidden on the starters menu, but they’re enormous, delicious, and a great value. Fairly authentic — shredded cabbage, grilled mahi mahi, habanero sauce, double tortilla — and supersized to suit the ever-expanding American appetite. They make a full meal, so I like to share them. Sweet potato fries … irresistible. Brussels sprouts(thinly sliced, roasted) will convert most any non-Brussels believer. Last night my Danish friends, who grew up on beets, were raving about the roasted beets side dish here. But … the desserts. No matter what, I must have a slice of the Bourbon Room’s Mama’s Rum Cake. It is just amazing. Real rum, fluffy yellow cake, caramelized crust, brandied cherries, fresh whipped cream. The three of us – all usually very well-mannered — polished off a huge slice in about three minutes. Then we did the same to a slice of chocolate chip cookie pie. I’ve also had their cheesecake, which is really different — smooth and not too sweet or sludgy like most. The servers are very sweet, though sometimes they can get a little overwhelmed. The place is popular! You can sit on the patio or inside amid the charming old-timey ambiance. I really like that it’s far from Downtown — ergo, no drunk college kids or tourists. Imagine that — an affordable restaurant in Santa Barbara that’s not full of college kids and tourists! There are some negative Unilocal reviews about this place, but they seem to be about a different restaurant than the one I know.

Bottom line; the service was excellent, the ambiance was lovely but for the price, the food was a little underwhelming Since my wife and I had a baby, we dont get to get out much anymore. Every now and again we get the chance to do a date night and we try to pick a spot we haven’t tried. We made our way over to the Bourbon Room and sat outside. Every person we came into contact with was very friendly, helpful and actually seemed to care about what they were doing. There were formal introductions complete with handshakes and names! At the end of the meal it was feeling like I should be hugging people on the way out the door… but I digress… Since we get out pretty rarely, we went kind of big with the Filet Mignon plate and the pulled pork sandwich. The Filet was cooked perfectly but, to me it just wasn’t a $ 30 plate of food. It came with a small ramekin of mashed potatoes and a few slices of tomato. The filet wasn’t bad for sure but wasn’t amazing. The pulled pork sandwich has a lot of potential in that it has a lot of flavor but doesnt seem to hit the mark. It was a near miss — perhaps It needs something to make it more substantial. All in all we liked this place and we will be back to check it out again for sure, but they are going to have to bring up their bat speed in the plate department.

Was taking my hubby out for a nice dinner! What a surprise. The dinner menu was great as well as the drinks. Kelly Joe our bartender was awesome! Mixed up some great cocktails and nice as ever. The place is small yes, but well worth the wait is they are busy. The ambiance the 20’s vibe everything I fell in love. Food was awesome like I said, and most the cocktails are made from scratch! If you like bourbon or craft cocktails this is the place for you. Don’t forget about dessert before you leave cause the sweets are to die for! Grab ur date and bring them her for sure!

First time here and I had a nice experience! Joined my friends for happy hour on a Friday night which BTW ends at 7pm. I recommend you get there early cuz by 6:00pm it gets pretty busy! Parking is limited and the lot is pretty small. Be prepared to put your best driving skills to the test upon leaving. I had the red house wine from the happy hour menu at $ 5 a glass. It was pretty smooth can’t complain. My friends ordered the bacon wrapped dates, Rosemary French fries, roasted Brussel sprouts, and sloppy Jose. Everything was delicious! No complaints here about the food either. This place is a hidden gem in my eyes and I look forward to going back to try a full meal.

While the Bourbon Room makes fantastic mixed drinks, the restaurant itself is hard to find off Hollister. I like the vibes here though, really dark, like a speak-easy with big, red booths and black-and-white photographs everywhere. I ate dinner in the candlelight, next to a piano and it was really cute. Although the décor is great, the food is really American. I got the Sloppy Jose with regular fries which were good and we got some parmesan fries to start off our meal. I got the Cocktail du jour(cocktail of the day) and my partner got the Moscow Mule, served in a cute, little tin cup. I liked the drinks but Happy Hour was only two hours long and they didn’t have that many discounts making it worthwhile. Overall the décor and the drinks are good but it’s unlikely I would go here again to get plastered because it’s not close to any other bars, restaurants, or stores. Definitely need a designated driver if you’re going this far down Hollister to drink.

I’ve been to the Bourbon Room several times and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to dine in SB. They have a decent HH with discounted prices on apps, wine(and beer, I think). The only reason that I have not given 5-stars is because I feel the HH menu is lacking in bourbon drink specials, thus there is room for improvement there. So let’s get to the food. My favorite eats: Kale Chips — Delicious leaves of Kale deep fried and seasoned with salt. Crispy, greasy and delicious. I love them! Date with a Pig: Bacon Wrapped Date with Honey, yum! Pork Sliders: Generous portion of slow roasted, tender pork sandwiched between a sweet mini, Hawaiian style roll. Very tasty, with tangy, sweet notes. Blue Burger: Very juicy and flavorful beef patty w/blue cheese and bacon. So good. I had mine served atop fresh, lettuce with no bun. It was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Better than Eureka, Silvergreens or the Habit. And it was only about $ 10. A steal, served with hand cut fries. Pizza, Pizza! We had the most amazing pizza! Kai’s Pizza w/Prosciutto. Phenomenal! Best pizza I’ve ever had in Santa Barbara. $ 20 and it is a fairly large portion. Enough for two to share. For the booze, Bourbon, Bourbon, Bourbon. With a name like the Bourbon Room, you better hope they have a nice selection of bourbon to choose from and that they do indeed. Fantastic Manhattans! If you’re feeling froggy, jump for the Bitters Club and take down a shot of bitters with a cherry juice back. Pretty tasty and it gets you entry into eliteness… well not exactly but you do get a nifty card and bragging rights. ;) Décor and music feels like you stepped into the days of old. Billie Holiday, Louie Armstrong and Etta James grace the sound system. The ambiance is that of being in someone’s home; dim lighting and candles help create a feeling of relaxation. The staff are extremely welcoming, hospitable and personable. We love this joint and look forward to enjoying many more meals here to come.
