Pizza Mizza

Couldn’t find the place at first cuz Unilocal map led us astray. I fixed it, pending approval.
Once we got to the very dead La Cumbre plaza, still had to look at the directory to find our way. Pizza Mizza is located on the far end next to Sears. It’s one of the few places that was open little past 7pm… on a Saturday.
Pizza Mizza… I gotta give it 4 stars for the friendly staff and the beautiful restaurant itself.
You basically order at the counter and sit down with your number, if dining in. They deliver the food to your table but ya fetch your own drink. Fountain drinks n iced teas are self refillable, very convenient.
Our half size chopped Italian salad n mozzarella sticks came first. The mozzarella sticks weren’t melty at all so we sent them back for reheating. Came back more crispy but still not melty. Ah well, what can ya do. The chopped Italian looked promising but the flavors were sharp n all over the place. Too salty, Italian dressing too sour, no balance.
The large Mizza Supreme was on a thin crust because we didn’t know we had to specify to get the regular or thick crust. Apparently they don’t ask, you just gotta know to tell em. Thin crust was very good, the crust was actually the best part about the pizza. The pizza itself reminded me of Chuck E Cheese pizza crossed with junior high cafeteria stuff.
That said, food is a mere 3 stars for me. Still, the place itself made for such a nice evening that I couldn’t give em less than 4. Service was super cool. Left a tip cuz they’re the ones to clear the table.
Anyway. Pizza My Heart n Woodstock’s pizzas are still first rate for me.

I ordered a medium pizza, half B.B.T. and half island fever, for delivery. The speed of delivery was fine and the driver was very friendly. The pizza, however, was disappointing. First of all, it was barely lukewarm and the cheese had already begun hardening.
For the first time in my life, I saw my partner push away pizza. To be clear, my partner is not one of those dainty girls who typically pushes away food. My partner loves food, especially pizza. She even loves Dominoes (arguably the worst), but couldn’t finish this. That’s saying something.
We did get two chocolate chip cookies with the order, though, and those were delicious.

Xi’m not really a big pizza fan so I ordered the spicy chicken and avocado Panini as well as the fully loaded spinach salad before great and the chocolate chip cookies in the bag was a nice touch

First off let’s get the positive points through. Good pizza, fresh ingredients and good portions. The salads are great as well. Service is pretty good too. They accidentally brought me a medium pizza when I ordered a large– made up for it by bringing me a second medium for free.
My main beef with this joint can be summed in one word: FLIES. Been there 3 times in the last 6 months or so and there are always an abundance of nasty flies, everywhere. But they’re good people with good food!

So… this is the second time I will leave a review, and once again, it’s about the same lack of service and quality. I had heard that the manager of this place is also the manager of the Plaza Deli two doors down. He obviously doesn’t read these reviews or listen to feedback. Once again, we ordered a pizza and a pasta– took 50 mins. to deliver and we are LESS than a mile from Pizza Mizza. This would be okay if the food was fantastic– but it’s not. It’s pricey and they deliver it cold/​lukewarm. Yes they are still stingy with the items on pizza. I should not have to heat up the pizza in the microwave because it is cold when delivered. Santa Barbara is a small town and I think word will get around about the deficiencies of this place. Only tourists or one-​time customers will visit. Frustrated and offended that whoever manages this place doesn’t take more care with service and quality.

I received contact from owner, see update… UPDATE received direct reply almost immediately by business owner with apology and refund. He explained the situation and was not making excuses. I was appreciative of the very quick reply. This is how to keep customers !!

This was the second time that I’ve been here. The first time it was passable and we had an okay experience worthy of 3 maybe 4 stars. But this time it was really bad we ordered two pizzas a meat lovers and a pepperoni they were both incredibly greasy and there were very little toppings on any of them. We were so disappointed and disgusted we end up only eating a couple of slices and throwing the rest away. Not sure if i would recommend this place to anymore.

Easily the worst pizza in town. Wings were the only thing good. Crust is pre made and frozen. Pizza toppings are extremely low quality and almost non existent. Cheese is pre shredded and plasticky. Poppers are frozen, bought product, not house made.
Why send complimentary cookies that are so poorly made?

REALLY GREAT pizza, just keep an eye on it so you get it hot. Be clear when ordering .They are really busy behind the counter.

Was disappointed they didn’t have the chicken chipotle pizza anymore from which I saw on the menu. And order came with thin crust and was never asked which type of crust I wanted. Taste is fair the spread and quality of ingredients is good. Good for the price when you get two for one. Would like to explore other items on the menu and would say they should be more generous with their cheeses.

Delish! One of my favorite sb pizza joints. Yummy thin crust, great toppings, and great variety on the menu. Just wish it wasn’t in the mall!

I ordered delivery online through Unilocal,and the food took about 45 minutes to get to my door.
The delivery driver was friendly.
I ordered a bbq chicken pizza and it was really good. They spread the good stuff out over top of most of the crust which was awesome. I also ordered mozzarella sticks, and they were not really what I was expecting – they weren’t breaded, they were deep fried. They were good, just not what I was expecting. They also gave me two free cookies with my order and I have to say they were SO good. They were a little undercooked so they were perfectly chewy and they were almost the best part of my meal (and a nice little surprise). The price was fair and I would order here again for sure, although the wait was a little long.

Great place to eat at any time, great staff.

Pizza, pasta salads they are all great !!!

This was my first time in and it was a great experience. I got the sausage sundried tomato goat cheese personal pizza. It was flavorful, hot and came out fast. The cashier and servers I encountered were very nice and friendly. I’d come back for sure.

Their pizza is consistently really good and I love the great combinations they offer! Other pasta options are good too.
They also have really nice customer service always. My fav in town!

I love love love the food here. My favorite pizza place by far. A little pricey, but worth it. I get the BBT (bacon, basil, and tomato slices) with a white sauce, Gorgonzola and mozzarella cheese. Also great salads! Must try!

Great food, unbelievable prices, and terrific service! The food was so good that we bought three pizzas for the family. The kids are super picky so we bought a large cheese pizza for them. We treated ourselves to a large ½ Tuscan veggie ½ Margherita and a large sausage/​sundried tomato/​goat cheese. The staff was very nice, and didn’t charge us extra for getting a ½ &½ pizza. The cashier didn’t rush me when I ordered, she made eye contact with me the whole time we spoke, she repeated my complicated order back to me, and most importantly she made me feel like she was glad that we had chosen Pizza Mizza for lunch. My wife and I often make pizza at home from scratch, even with dough we make ourselves– so we are pretty harsh critics of pizza. My wife and I both agree that the crust was perfect, the toppings were generous and fresh, and the flavor was nothing short of gourmet. The atmosphere was pleasant, and everything was almost surgically clean– which is nice to see at a restaurant, but sadly uncommon. The high chairs had functional buckles, which is (again) uncommon. I’m almost embarrassed to say that our bill for two large gourmet pizzas and a cheese pizza was less than I’ve spent for a single dinner at certain restaurants. It was about $ 31 before tip. I should mention that we happened to stop by during «happy hour» which was 2:30−4pm. Overall, I think we have found a new favorite pizza spot. Hats off to the management– you’ve clearly set your priorities right, made effective hiring choices, and set high expectations for your employees.

Well prepared and tasty pizza. It’s a great small lace to eat in the corner of the plaza… but I’ve been going for years, and I love to introduce my out of town friends to this place, they ways like it. If you’re looking for an above-​average pizza and some casual hang out with friends or family, this is a good spot.
