Booo! Ground beef tacos, cheap canned beans, poor service and high prices and a tiny slice of flan for $ 6. I can make more authentic Mexican myself and I’m white!

I’ve been eating here for many years. By far the best Mexican food in town. The Rose downtown is also good. I have noticed the last 10 years or so it’s gotten a little to popular. So if anyone asks you about this place please tell them it sucks. Thanks.

Adorable setting, attentive outdoor service, delicious food, tasty chips. What else could a girl want? Chile relleno dinner was tasty, ordered some corn tortillas to make little ‘tacos’ with. The margarita was a nice touch as well :) love this little spot

I lost track of how many times I have been to this restaurant so clearly they are doing something right. Not only is the food always good but the service is always great. All the waitresses and waiters are friendly and care about getting your order correct. Even when they are busy the staff never forgets about you. Love the family vibe that is there. I personally always recommend for people to go eat here.

I’m kind of a flautas junkie. Every time I go to a Mexican restaurant, I promise myself I’ll order something different. But rarely do. That said, I’m somewhat of an authority on guacamole and am here to tell you that Rose Café has the –best– flautas in Santa Barbara. I love the kitchy plastic floral sun shades, the laid-back café-con-fiesta vibe, and the simple menu. Stop by in your yoga pants, on your way home from work in a pair of heels, or wander over after your manicure: this is a come-as-you-are kind of place and feels comfortable whether you’re dressed up or dressed down. Not your average hole-in-the-wall eatery(where you somewhat cringe while you eat), Rose Café is spotlessly clean and well kept. The food is genuinely fresh and tastes like the chef might just have a few family recipes up his sleeve. Perfect for a Sunday funday, afternoon date, early evening chips and salsa fix, or dinner.

Came here because of a decent Groupon, though like most Groupon experiences I’ve had, the value is lost when the business somehow changes their practice to make up for the difference in price. Case in point, we came here and it happened to be happy hour, I didn’t know they had happy hour because it’s not on their website. When we arrived and realized it was happy hour, we decided to partake in that as well. Who doesn’t love a good marg? At the end of the meal, we asked to pay for alcohol separately, as it wasn’t included in the Groupon and I’ve done elsewhere. They informed us that their computers«can’t split checks» and that«they have to make money somehow.» Fine if they want to enrage a customer or two, but at least don’t lie to me about the capabilities of your POS system. I suppose it’s hard to pay those canned chicken bills when you’re honoring things like Groupon. In the end, what should have been a $ 40 bill became a $ 75 dollar bill. If the food had been good, I wouldn’t have minded this ripoff as much, butter the low quality food coupled with the way they comported themselves is not what I’ve come to expect from Santa Barbara restaurants. Save yourself the disappointment and try Los Arroyos or Los Agaves instead.

Still an ardent fan of Roses, quality consistent, not OVERLY busy when I have gone, so service and food came out quickly. I reminisced that the last time I was here was when I got to BS with Paul Walker for a min, very down to earth cool guy, sadly missed…

I’ve driven all the way from Ventura just to have dinner here. I’ve come back a few times for their Ranchero Sauce. Good food and waitress was great too.

I love this place. We live on the Mesa and this is our friendly neighborhood– local dining spot. Salsa and warm chips are yummy. Large combination platter is what I always order no matter how many times I swear I’m going to try something different, beef taco, enchilada and chile rellano are my combo choices. If we’re in a really glutinous mood we also get the Nachos with I highly recommend!!!

You want some really good Mexican food come here. Rob was awesome and always provides us with such a friendly and good service. We come for breakfast, and dinner. Although we moved here a few weeks ago I’m getting in all my reviews in today because I haven’t had much time since I transferred locations in the company. However, Rose’s is about to make us move to the mesa so we can be closer to it.

I have yet to try a dish here that I can honestly rave about, but it won’t stop me from going back until I can! If you order the chicken enchiladas don’t expect shredded chicken. I was disappointed when I dug into mine only to find little chunks of chicken. This was weird to me! Especially for an authentic Mexican restaurant. Sorry but I guess I’m just use to shredded chicken. Not only was there no shredded chicken but no shredded beef either! I ordered one beef and one chicken. The beef enchilada had carne asada inside WTF? The beans tasted like something out of a can. Yea I won’t be ordering anything with beans again. Even though I wasn’t happy with my meal at least my BFF was happy with hers. The service was great despite my disappointment. Hence the reason why I will be back!
