Usually this place does a good job on their burritos. But I just ordered a burrito from them and for one, it did not include all the ingredients I ordered. Secondly they added way too much rice, they practically stuffed the burrito with rice and minimal other ingredients in there. Seems like an easy way to save money right? Also all the ingredients inside the burrito were not evenly distributed. When you order a burrito make sure you say no rice or at least ask them to go easy on the rice.

By far the best Mexican restaurant on the Mesa!!! Very fast and big portions, definitely get your money’s worth. They also have great breakfast burritos

Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast burritos are the best! The rest of the menu is pretty good(however if you like cheese, make sure to ask for extra).

I have been going to Cucas for 20 years and honestly the burritos are as good now as they were then. Cucas is not fancy, but you don’t go there for the fanciness. Everyone who works there is nice, the food is bomb. I am obsessed with the chicken burritos(no rice) and enchiladas are BOMB. I am sure that pretty much everything is great, I just get stuck eating the same things because they are SOGOOD!

Very disappointed… It was my mistake to go there at lunch time when they were very busy. I was rushed to make an order by the clerk and we settled on 2 burritos… 1 bean & cheese which was pretty good for less than $ 4, and 1 bean, cheese, rice, sour cream, and carne asada beef burrito for about $ 9. The beef burrito was a loosely rolled mess; it appeared that the two guys in the kitchen were MUCH more interested in the soccer game on the TV than making good food… Their eyes never left the TV and it showed with a burrito that was bested by anything available from Taco Bell. Really Sad… this place used to be great.

The go to place for burritos and nachos. Always a friendly staff, always massive portions. Never a long wait even when there is a line. You can buy a beer as you sit and enjoy their food. The burrito I had today was a California burrito and was delicious. Not greasy or sloppy. I also Had horchata which although not homemade still is refreshing and great beverage to try if you haven’t done so

Jesus is the maaaannnn!!! Ask him what his favorite salsa is, and he will hook you up big time. Burritos are on point, service is like family, go check them out if you have not already.

Solid vegetarian tacos. Quick stop in Santa Barbara on my way up the coast. The tacos were overflowing with a deliciously perfect mix of beans and veggies. Super satisfying. Would highly recommend!

My chicken torta had grissly pieces in it and was on awful cheapo bread that fell apart with sogginess. And it had celery in it. It was a big sandwich so if you’re really hungry and aren’t picky ATALL then go for it. I won’t be back. Counter guy was nice though.

Delicious burritos! I’ve had the carnitas and the carne asada burritos(super and combo)… And both were made with quality meats, and packed with the right amount of fixings. You can’t go wrong with getting your Mexican grub on at the Super Cuca.

I really want to like Cucas, but I keep getting let down. I don’t know why I even keep going back. There are just so many excellent Mexican restaurants & taco spots in SB– it is hard to justify coming here. The other night I wanted a quick snack & went in for chicken taco. It had pinto beans in it & big chunks of chewy chicken, and was so soggy I couldn’t pick it up. I actually ended up throwing most of it away. That being said, the people that work there are usually nice, and their salsa and breakfast burritos are pretty good. I think they just need to up their game when it comes to the other dishes. It’s hard to compete with other places like Los Arroyos, Los Agaves, Cuernavaca, Lilly’s tacos, La Superica…

Having lived on the Mesa for a few years Cuca’s was a good choice for good Mexican food. It’s been awhile and I must say things have changed. First of all If you want a large Burrito filled mostly with beans and rice, with marginal quality meats this place is for you. Ordered a super burrito that is supposed to come with cheese, sour cream & cilantro but could not find much of that for $ 9. I will give you this, the beans & rice really fill you up.

«I’m really happy they put celery in my quesadilla» said no one ever. Otherwise kind of expensive, but the portions are big at least. Chips weren’t very good for having to pay extra to get them, and salsa was meh. I’ve had better, I’ve had worse, but I’ve never had celery in a quesadilla.

GIANT breakfast burritos, tons of choices, really upbeat staff, and AMAZING salsa bar! Looking forward in trying this place again. Also, exceptionally clean and spotless! Look forward in going back and will try to save ½ of my burrito next time for a later snack – it was just too good to stop! There are a wide variety of menu items and it would take a long time to try everything but from my limited experience, this place gets a 4-star review and quite possibly a 5-star once I have eaten my way through the menu more. Got to hit the gym before I go back! Cheers to good eats with a pleasant staff which makes everyone’s day!

Their carnitas are amazing. Large portions of everything. And the lunch specials are always a great deal.

Great dive. We ALWAYS get the combo plate(the one that includes the veggies) — TONS of food, and carnitas are really good. And the tortillas — very delicious and SONOT storebought! in fact, we had a party at home and went here JUST to get the tortillas. we’re’ regulars.

Moved back to the SB area and in the past I was always fond of SCT. Recently ordered a breakfast burrito and what came out of the kitchen was not what I remembered. The breakfast burrito was wet, slimy, undercooked eggs and extremely bland.

sometimes it is great and other times it sucks. I recommend getting the children’s menu tacos during lunch, super cheap and filling!

Super Cuca’s is not fine dining, it’s not as well known as say another Mexican establishment in Santa Barbara, but is it a place to drive 90 miles for? Sure, depends on how much you like giant burritos. I love this place and to be honest I go to Santa Barbara maybe once a month(not strictly for Cuca’s, well, once I did…) and I have a nice little routine down. I drive up just in time for lunch at Cuca’s and I get one of their super burritos(add guaca, typically with carnitas, but the pastor sometimes as well). They’re huge! I keep forgetting, but we occasionally weigh food at my office from our local Mexican place and I’m sure Cuca’s are bigger – I keep forgetting to ask them if they’ve ever weighed them. They’re so fat around they stand up vertically by themselves. And they’re delicious! In addition to that, they have a nice selection of salsas and you can buy meat and other accoutrements at good prices if family/friends find out that you’re having Cuca’s without them and then BEG to bring some home… just saying… Honestly though, cheap place, huge portions(honestly one meal for the day sort of portions). Don’t come here for light meals or ambiance, come for a good meal and then go outside, you’re in Santa Barbara for god’s sake!
