Love this«hidden» gem… We discovered Alcazar through on online special and so glad we did! The husband and I decided to be spontaneous and drive down to Santa Barbara from SLO for dinner one night and this place did not disappoint! Great service and happily served us even though we arrived shortly before closing. If you’re looking for a low key place for cocktails, come check this place out!

Most of the food is small bites which is fine by me. You can get really good value if you come during happy hour. I appreciate most of the innovation but some stuff was a little too creative. Melted brie with onions in a carmelized sauce was a bit strange. Mushrooms and garlic was nothing to write home about. Terrific brussel sprouts and mango and manchego spears! Liked the Pigs in a Blanket(?) and ceviche was good. Décor is, uh, interesting. For the most part, I’m glad that they’re in my ‘hood. Don’t think I would make a special trip, however.

Alcazar is by far one of my all time favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. I am a local girl and have grown up here. It may be the fact that I love Spanish culture and food but Tapa style dining is delicious and the Sangria here is incredible. I have lived in Spain and when I dine at Alcazar I feel like I’m back at a Tapas restaurant in Barcelona. Authentic ambiance. Great food. You have to try Alcazar! Favorite food: Sweet potato fries, Brussels Sprouts & Egg on Toast. Enjoy!

My wife found them on Open Table and Glad she did… We ordered the Chicken Tacos, the Patatas Bravas(Potatoes) and the Enchuladas and were impressed with the Authenticity of their Flavors! We are very picky and this place is a Must Try! Small space so call ahead! The House Malbec for $ 5 was fantastic!

We just love this place! We are regularly hosting out-of-towners and Alcazar never disappoints. Brussel sprouts, kale chips, lamb burgers, date-with-a-pig and tiger prawns are musts. Atmosphere is casual yet high-energy without being too loud. Cocktails are fabulous and«interesting» and servers always give recommendations that are spot-on.

Stopped in around 6pm for dinner. Place was empty, but by 7pm it was getting busy. Great happy hour prices! Food and service were great. Loved the dates, Brussels sprouts, lamb sliders and manchego cheese plates. Sit outside if you can and just enjoy.

It wasn’t incredibly pricey($ 54 for 4 dishes and a ginger beer) but food wasn’t memorable. The shrimp we had was drenched in butter and oil. It came w/greens and because it was sitting in the sauce, left an oily film in my mouth and made my tummy hurt. No flavor in the tartar. Ceviche needed more citrus. The Brussels sprouts was the best dish but not by much. Server forgot one of our drinks. Door latch on the bathroom door broke. Place is super dark.

$ 54 for 4 dishes and a non-alcoholic beverage. Server forgot my sangria. Food was mediocre and nothing special. Prawn and grits was shrimp and a load of butter. Not worth it.

What a great atmosphere amazing staff and phenomenal food. I would recommend the potato dish and the Manchego Y Guava Menerillo is sooooo good. Also if you’re looking for a date they have a a dish called a date with a pig. LOVEIT! Even the water is served in these great glass cold containers. Must try!

This review is only for their«Heat of passion» cocktail which is spicy, sweet, and all things good. Service is phenomenal and weeks later I’m still dreaming of that cocktail, I’ll definitely be back just for that!

Great place for drinks and tapas! A hidden gem on the mesa, I’ve passed this restaurant plenty of times and never even glanced at it, so happy I did tonight. We hit the tail end of happy hour, the mojito and sangria were really good. The food was amazing! Definitely recommend the manchego and guava, eggs on toast, and the beef sliders. The pigs on a date were delish too, but I didn’t like the honey getting all over my fingers. Will definitely visit again, the atmosphere is very intimate and the service was outstanding.

Super food, I love tapas, great bartenders, nice cocktail selection, fair prices. I’m often annoyed how busy it is but only because they never have a lot of servers. They need to visit that– it’s a problem. Again– great spot– I really enjoy it, but sometimes the one server for every table can seem stressed out.

4 stars is for happy hour– my girlfriends and I frequent this. I think it goes until 7 Monday-Thursday. There are great food and drink specials during this time, particularly the chicken tacos. Dinner is good too, but smaller portions for the prices. Atmosphere is casual and cozy, and the service is usually good.

If I didn’t have 50% discount with a groupon, I would have felt ripped off. The food was not impressive and the portion was too big for tapas, but too small given the price tag. sweet potato fries with sriracha mayo($ 7)-no complaints except the hefty price tag for a simply prepared item. carne con crema($ 15.50)-an awful and pricey dish. This was at least 50% peppers and the little morsels of steak were cooked well done with no caramelization at all. It was as if they just boiled the steak in the cream sauce. garlic shrimp($ 13 for 4 shrimps)-this was very bland compare to a similar dish we had at Industrial Eats during lunch. It needed salt, herbs, maybe a pinch of calabrian chiles or spanish chorizo for some pizazz. bacon wrapped date($ 9)-I make this at home and the version here tasted fine. I would pay the happy hour price, but not $ 9 given the simple preparation. lamb slider($ 12.50 for two sliders)-the combination of raisin, mint, and pesto was flavorful. It was again on the pricey side, but at least this was tasty enough to order again. The atmosphere however was lovely, especially if you sit at the pillow filled banquette by the window. The cocktails we ordered were also well made. This is a good place to come for a drink, but I absolutely will not come here for the food.

This little place is SO delicious! A little on the pricey side due to the size of the food(tapas duh.), but OMG so worth it! $ 30 a person to get full, with desert, tip and no drink. My friend and I shared everything, this place is a very good date place and sociable place as you can all share everything. The atmosphere is also very nice, with low light and dark red walls. We had gambas, warm brie, cheese with guava jam, and the cookie pie and all of it was delicious! I definitely want to go back during happy hour and try their drinks as well.

I have to say, I enjoyed their sister location, Milk & Honey WAYYYYY more! This place is really crammed, the ambience is dark but not enough to where the mood is romantic and warm. I love that at Milk & Honey, even with a group, the mood still feels intimate. I felt that the customer service was good but not super friendly, she was a little quiet. Again, the girls at M&H were amazingly friendly, fun and had great recommendations. Came here for the Groupon Deal and probably will continue to visit Milk and Honey since I enjoyed the vibe better. I recommend the Brussels sprouts with bacon, so delicious! Lambo burgers are also a must! My hubby loved the date with a pig!

It is a place with great potential. Many of the dishes you order will be outstanding… but that’s not the whole picture. It begins with the ambiance. Very dark, somewhat cramped seating, and a projector displaying bizarre cartoons or old movies. Filtered water comes at you tabled in a glass bottle. Your menu is a couple sheets of folded paper(this could be much better). Our waitress seemed new, and that’s ok. She kept asking the bar tender after every question we asked. So we figured it all out. I’m a fan of the lamburghini’s. wow! Perfect. I get them every time. Pair them with sweet potato fries. Everything else is just o.k. I would go to Milk $ Honey for some more pleasing dishes like the«nice rack.» And I didn’t make a mistake with the $ instead of &. They are both very pricey. At Alcazar, two drinks, two lamburghinis, and a sweet potato fry will bring about a $ 70 check with tax and tip. Tapas priced as meals.
