Okay so 1÷23÷15 about 1230pm I was walking by with my dog. Someone whistles at me, ugh, why? Oh wait, it was the tall, tan, brown haired guy in the door of L’Occitane. He’s waving a sample at me. Whistling at women is rude but yeah I’ll take the sample. I walk over there and he goes«I just have a thing for redheads» and smirks at me. Who is running this store?! That’s so inappropriate! First of all, women are not dogs and should not be whistled at by employees as if they are such. Second, I don’t give a flying bleep if he’s into redheads. Being creeped on by a dude who is not polite enough to know that whistling is rude is NOT going to get me into the store. I probably would have gone in but having two obviously hetero men in the door of a cosmetics store is off putting. Two stars because the sample was nice. Talk to your door guy about a little thing called not being a pig.

This place has the best service, hands down. It is the perfect balance between being helpful and leaving you alone. I won’t go in some stores because I feel attacked, offering me tea as soon as I hit the door and literally following me around. The young men who have helped me at L’Occitane are always very friendly and polite. If I tell them I am just looking, they leave me to it, and aren’t chiming in every time I pick up a product. But if I have a question, all I have to do is look their way and they are instantly attentive. Besides the service, i believe that these are great quality products. My 12 year old son even uses the almond shower oil for his extremely dry skin. The scents are so nice and natural. I usually go for their regular shea hand cream, lavender hand cream, shea butter face care produc line, the almond shower oil, and the rose hand cream. I recently bought a lip balm that is in a tube like lipstick and I believe that it is superior to the one that it is in the vaseline lip therapy style container. I appreciate the gifts with purchase and like their bags that these come in. I have a whole collection. :-)

All of my facial products come from here and let me tell you, I haven’t had a zit or a blemish since… for as long as I can remember. I use the Red Rice Riz products the most. The hand lotion is also amazing. I was told it’s the one that all of the Dr. s and nurses use because they have to wash their hands so frequently– and it works GRRREAT. I put it on freshly shaved legs and everything, and it always leaves my skin feeling wonderful. I Love this place.

L’occitane has such quality products, and this is a nice little shop in Santa Barbara to get some good lotion. Random story — I work with children, so I constantly have to get my fingerprints done for various jobs. For some reason, my 23 year old hands are really dry. They like to compare me to an old lady at the police station when they’re doing my fingerprints on the electronic machine, because I have so many cracks in my fingerprints.(Sorry, I’m not having dry fingers that don’t register in the machine on purpose). ANYWAYS, whenever I go there I tried using copious amounts of lotion, etc., to prevent his from happening. The only thing that’s ever made a difference is… L’occitane hand cream! The fingerprint attendant was so impressed, that she wrote down the product to recommend to other clients(old people). This specific location is small, but well organized and offers friendly customer service. Minus one star because I think they sometimes look down on me because they think I’m some young silly teenager who can’t afford to shop there. I’ll continue to return for my hand cream.
