Okay, I am just getting on Unilocal so I have a lot of reviews backed up… I have been having flashbacks of this restaurant for awhile. They haunt me… My husband and I lived in the Central Valley in CA for 5 years where $ 4 will buy you a burrito out of a tack truck that is so damn good it will make you forget who you are until you are done eating. So, we are a bit spoiled. After living in AZ for a year and being disappointed in the Mexican food we found here we were excited to see a little burrito shack that looked like it had the potential to crank out some epic delicious. Red flags started to fly as soon as I walked in the door. The salsa was absolutely awful! The chips were stale. When we asked if they had any hot salsa we were told that is all they have.(Any good Mexican restaraunt will have the«good stuff» if you ask for it. Usually there is a capcasin aficionado in the kitchen somewhere willing to share.) As a last ditch effort I asked for a bottle of Tapatio. Nope. None of that either. But then the ordering started… «Can I get three asada Tacos, please» «What kind?» WHAT?! You work in Mexican restaurant! Asada! BEEF! STEAK! COOOOW! Then my husband ordered a burrito and asked for extra cilantro she said they didn’t have cilantro. I just… What? How can you not have cilantro? What kind of tacos and burritos do not require the use of cilantro?! My husband just looked across the table at me in confusion. Wide eyed. I asked since there was no cilantro what would be on my tacos. Now, as an aside, to me a taco consists of 2 corn tortillas a mound of meat, cilantro and onion, and hot sauce. That is all. The waitress answered, «meat, cheese, lettuce… « No! No! No! My husband’s confusion turned to terror. Are we in the twilight zone? This is not Mexican. Lettuce? Cheese? This is the type of taco frat boys buy from Jack in The Box after a night of binge drinking and douchebaggery. Nope. This will not stand. I have never gone back. I will never go back. Beware… Seriously though, I get that this is all mostly based on my opinion but aside from my disgust at their idea of «authenic» there are a couple other things. There was only 2 other people there. The food was splendidly bland. The waitress was not friendly. Seriously, I am really damn nice in person but she just acted annoyed as shit when we asked for anything. I was baffled. We had to ask for water refills. A couple times.

Have eaten here 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I keep trying to find something good on the menu. So far it’s been blah. PLEASECHANGETHEFLOWERTORTILLAS. The ones you use are terrible. Like the mass produced thick tortillas that are like chewing gum. Also the burger patties are frozen and disgusting.

The best breakfast I have had for a long while. My husband was practically licking the plate after polishing off the huevos rancheros. The name is a bit misleading as they offer much more than burros. While we didn’t try them, the pancakes looked amazing. While it doesn’t look like much from the outside, the awesome food and surprisingly low prices make this place worth the trip.

I have been eating at Jim’s Burros for many years. In the beginning, the food was great, the portions were large and the prices were good. Well NOTANYMORE. Today was my last day. The chips were stale and I mean really stale. The burrito had more tortilla folded up inside than chorizo, potatoes or eggs. The chorizo itself was borderline flavorless, the eggs were dry and the potatoes were scarce. The service was there to take my order after having sat down for five minutes. Last visit my food sat in the microwave for ten minutes until I reminded the waitress she forgot about my order. Yes, I said microwave. I saw the waitress removed my plate from it. Once my food came today, my waitress disappeared and my water was not refilled once. If you want a great breakfast with huge portions for a great price, go to EggsTC in Queen Creek. If you want decent Mexican food(for this area), go to Morenos in San Tan Valley. As for you Jims, close up shop and stop taking people’s hard earned money. Sincerely, Thirsty Disgusted Customer

I’ll admit, this place took me almost a year of driving by it before I finally stopped inside. It’s one of those questionable hole-in-the-wall places that always seems to have the local fire and police crews eating there.(Must be good, right?) I’ve been back multiple times now and while the service isn’t anything to excited about, the food is an incredible value for the price. We take all of our out-of-town guests there now as a «joke» that has everyone begging to come back for more. Best Thing on the Menu: Pancakes! Hands down!

The people who say the food is bland and expensive are on something! The food is amazing! Service is as expected for young kids, but that is easy to look past since the green chile burro is the best! Chips could use an upgrade but the open cheese crisp is addictive! Love love this place!

The food was good! It’s a hole-I’m-the-wall joint for sure, but I love Mexican food. I got the green beef burro, and I was pleased. Not over-the-top amazing, but worthy of testing.

Yuck! If I wanted store bought Ortega taco shells I would have made my tacos at home. How can you advertise that you are a Mexican Food Restaurant and sell pre made taco shells. The beef was dry and nasty. The service was horrible. The server took my order and dropped off the food. I should have ordered from the outside window. I still gave her an undeserved tip. I will say that their breakfast burrito with chorizo is good. I will not be back.

Buyer beware. Jims burritos has terrible service and inferior food. Despite calling and being told their closing time, they refused to serve us 45 min prior to closing. When telling a friend, he indicated we didn’t miss anything. He indicated that their food got him sick about a month ago. Rudys in queen creek is stellar and way better. Go there instead to stay healthy and get good service.

I can’t believe people think this place is good. The one and only time I came here was a horrible experience. Service was pathetic. They forgot about us for a good 15 minutes before I had to go up and fuss about it. Next, food is horrible. It was bland and expensive. My wife took one bite of the burrito and didn’t tske another… waste of money. It looks cool cuz it is a hole in the wall and has been out here for awhile but trust me, Morenos out by the frys is better. Heck, even the Filibertos is a better bang for your buck. Avoid this place like the plague. It’s disgusting inside and needs a major remodel.

If you like burdening staff by your presence, stale chips, dry chicken, cold rice and mildew flavored fountain drinks, then Jim’s Burros is the place for you. Food used to be decent and now it’s gross. If you plan to sit in the front patio area be sure to bring Raid spray to kill the spiders. I’m not sure this place will last in its current condition…

Very disappointed in the quality of this business. We used to recommend to everyone new coming to visit us in Queen Creek, but have to say we won’t any more. From the service to the quality of the food preparation, everything that could’ve went wrong, DID! In order to come up with a resolution, we tried talking to the manager and she was unaccommodating which should definitely get no star at all.

This is a quintessential hole in the wall kind of burrito place and I love it! They are open early and late all week long and if you have a favorite burro they can make it. It is always fresh! Great place to grab something quick or sit down and enjoy it!

This is going to be a long review only because this has been the most upset I have been and disappointed in any food related business in a very long time… I ordered our food over the phone plenty of time before closing and our food was ready to be picked up in five minutes(7:35 pm) which is a half hour before closing. My husband went to pick our order up and brought it back home only to realize, after I looked in the bag, we were short one burrito. After further looking in the order and noticing our burritos were quite flat, they messed up one of our burritos which was to be a bean/cheese/ground beef with tomato/guacamole burrito which the lady repeated back to me twice and just to remind you, one burrito still short. I proceeded to call at 8:02 pm where, come to find out, was the owner that answered saying he was a different restaurant, said they were closed and proceeded to hang up on me. Infuriated, I called back again to hear ringing until, FINALLY, a girl answers and repeats a different restaurant name and says they’re closed. I told her I understand that, but we didn’t get all the food we paid for along with the wrong burrito. She then said they were closed and could do nothing for us until the next day! So, I went in the next day to talk to the manager or owner to get things cleared up which all I was asking for was the burrito to be taken off our card along with the added expenses to making a burrito we never received. The best the manager could do was reimburse the burrito and not make up for their mistake on giving the wrong burrito ANDTHEN they proceeded to tell me I would have to bring in the burrito from the day before to be reimbursed! I couldn’t believe it! Not only was our food given to us incorrectly, we were charged for food we never received, the cook lied about the burrito being correct in the bag, the OWNER hangs up on us without a resolution to the problem they created in the first place along with the manager not making up for their mistakes and still wanting to charge us!

I’m sitting on the throne pissing out of my ass… can you guess how this review is going to play out? Let’s begin… service was awful. Sat outside and was helped by a young girl who between visits to the table was popping zits on her face… had a couple tiny drops of blood leaking of them smh Food: smfh Simple enough. carné asada burrito with cheese. Meat was real fatty, guacamole was runny and abundant. Cheese… this cheese was the kind of unnatural cheese that will NEVER melt if you dropped it in a fire pit. Bottom of my burrito was cold, yet the top was warm… hmmm I wonder why… maybe because the plate felt like they just got it out of the refrigerator… Never saw the server again… probably popping more pimples. Tired of waiting I went to the window to ask if someone could bring me my check… only to be told oh there is no check you pay at the window. Nice to know. NEVER will I visit this dump again!

This is really hard for me. Really, really hard. I have been eating here since the place opened, have loved it. Recently, things have been changing. Ingredients, prices, items on the menu. Food has gotten bland, expensive, and on this last trip has made me sick for going on five days now. I do not believe that the kitchen staff is handling meats the correct way, thus giving me food poisoning. Jims, if you are reading this, STOP! You guys were AWESOME. Go back to quality ingredients not crap we can buy in the frozen section at Frys. Stop changing the menu. Stop increasing your prices while decreasing your costs by using cheap ingredients. Have some pride in your work again. Bacon is supposed to be crispy and fried, not limp and tasting like it came from a microwave. I will not even comment on the burrito that made me sick because it will just put me back in the bathroom. When something is good, don’t change it. I cannot tell you I will be back here again, food poisoning is not something I an inclined to risk again. I would sure hate to see the place close down, but you make your other regulars sick, they likely won’t be coming back either.

I was driving by and have seen this place before but never stopped. I finally decided to stop. The place had many customers eating there inside and outside. The tables & chairs and all around feel is old and dingy. I can get over that when the places have great food. I ordered the 10 inch Carne Asada burrito costing $ 5.00. I asked what came in it and was told meat only! Haha wow. Any additional ingredients are $ 1 each. I added beans and cheese not knowing it was extra. I told them their burritos are expensive and the offered to give me the larger burrito version for free. Ok still hope this $ 7 burrito plus tax equals $ 7.70 is worth it. Chipotle steak burrito with unlimited ingredients is around $ 6.50 before tax. They gave me some type of salsa that had good flavor but, the burrito had grocery level cheddar cheese barely melted inside the burrito. Beans were fine and the Carne was so dry and bland. It was like chewing on a dry piece of meat from childhood. Absolutely NOFLAVOR in any piece of meat I ate. Maybe their other items are better, but I am sure not going to try and see. The Carne Asada burrito is the standard which I use to compare all Mexican joints I go to and this one was one of the worst I have ever had. Then you realize how much it cost and you will quickly regret ever having stopped there. One positive which wouldn’t affect their star rating is the friendliness of the cashier. She was pleasant and respectful. In the end it’s all about the food. I don’t go back to restaurants because their service was great while their food was terrible. Enough said!

This place is so run down. The service wasn’t that great and waiting for a to go order was awkward(where do you stand?)! I wouldn’t go back. There are far cleaner, faster, authentic mexican restaurants out there to frequent besides this place.
