Some of the best pizza I’ve had! Definitely not used to eating gourmet pizza like this but it was amazing! Lived up to the hype. The ingredients all tastes very fresh and you can tell it’s all made from scratch. Went here with my husband on a date, and he was impressed with the food quality too. Very unique and create style pizza, not your boring standard pizza place

My god is this place good! I am from the east coast and we love Pizza! Not only that, but I love food and motorcycles and the owner loves the same! I love food and to cook. I want to say I can make a pie that compares not exceeds. Plus this guy likes the Scally Cap. This is the place to visit for a great slice of pie and I love pie!

This place is The Bomb!
When I was a student I used to study at LeStats & would walk next door on my study break to grab a slice or 2 of this delicious, mouth watering, fresh ingredients pizza.
Yesterday I was in the neighborhood & stopped by to get a slice. When I walked in the same owner & pizza man was still there after 3 years! When I took a bite I was not disappointed. It was like a peace of heaven in my mouth. lol.

I’m from the East Coast, so I am a pizza snob. I think good pizza in San Diego is very rare. I’ve eaten here several times over the years and found their pizza to be good, but a bit expensive. BUT, I have to say, I had a slice of pizza on Saturday here that changed my life. It was a pepperoni pizza with marscapone — OH. MY. GOD. So good. Best slice of pizza I’ve had in a long while. Now I want to eat here all the time!
Every time I’ve been here (for the past few years), the same man has been behind the counter, and he is very nice. I think he may be the owner. He is helpful in suggesting slices, but also not pushy. He also seems to always be working really hard. I like that this is a local business with friendly people and good food. That gets 5 stars.

This place is AWESOME!!! Great customer service. The owner is so incredibly nice, you can tell that he has real passion for his food, and he always takes the time to chat with us. They have a really great beer selection. The best part for me is that they make the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had, soooooooo many options. Hands down our favorite place to grab a pie

Seriously great place. Quality pizza. Perfect crust (for me). Awesome service. Great atmosphere. Totally amazing mural on the wall. You can bring your vegetarian and vegan friends here while still satisfying your own carnivore side. Total win!

Got two slices of the vegan option they had available. I believe it was eggplant, potato, and green onion. Pretty good, just wish it had vegan cheese. $ 3 a slice plus a wide variety of «gourmet» bottled drinks for $ 3 also.

Zia is one of the most creative pizza places I’ve been to in a while, and they have a great selection of vegetarian/​vegan pies. We came in one hot afternoon and spoke with the owner, who was so friendly and awesome that we felt right at home. He pulled out a few flash cards of what he had to offer (there were a couple of pizzas that were premade, but we opted to get a fresh pie made). He walked us through what his favorites were, and we chose a pie with half potato and half veggie on white flour crust.
We were not disappointed at all and almost finished our whole pizza. Both sides of toppings were equally delicious. And they were even good cold later on that night! The prices weren’t too bad either, about on par with a pizza place out where I live in the Chicago ‘burbs. They’re definitely going to be a staple for us when we become San Diegans.

Um, what did I just experience?! This place is ridiculous in the BEST way. This Turkish guy brings some really insane combinations to his pizza toppings. And they’re all vegetarian too. One pizza I tried had apricots and walnuts on it. Another had eggplant and cranberries and tomatoes. You think it’s weird but it’s so good! And so well-​priced!

Pizza is just amazing! Let me tell you why!
Pizza: meatlovers/​vegan/​vegetarian options — so many different combinations of pizzas and classics all available — they also have dessert pizzas
All pizzas are thin crust and their base sauces are amazing — their Pizza sauce is definitely above and beyond. They make a white or wheat crust you get to choose which one you want.
Personal favorite pizza: pepperoni avocado, anything with pineapple and the pizzas with potato or sweet potatoes
Customer Service: Great! Super nice and they definitely try to connect with customers
Single Pizza Slices are $ 3 but worth it flavors are terrific! I usually buy the 14 inch and that comes with 6 slices for roughly $ 15 and you can always have one half of the pizza be one kind and the other half another kind
They do have several beers on tap and will definitely continue coming back!

Oh man this place is excellent! I had been meaning to try their pizza since I first read about them on Thrillist. First of all it’s in one of San Diegos finest neighborhoods, Normal Heights. Second, the staff are friendly. Third, the pizza has not failed me yet. I have had 4 slices on two different occasions so far. All amazing. Last I was in there the owner came out from behind the counter and personally made sure everyone in the place was enjoying their pizza! Thats really great for me.
The pizza slices seem to rotate each day throughout the day so drop in on them and see what they’ve got! They also have some great craft beers on tap. Definitely a plus!

AMAZING vegan pizza. We had the eggplant one and the soy chorizo one. Both great and contrasted well.
The best part was the how much the owner cared and explained how much thought he puts into the vegan pizza. It really showed.
He has even more off menu options because he’s always creating new vegan recipes.
He’s got a new customer for life. If you’re vegan, you need to come here.

Think this place is overrated. Had high expectations and felt let down. The place itself is dirty and just trashy looking which I could overlook if the food was amazing, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t terrible. It was «okay» pizza. Just nothing special.

Fabulous.
The service was wonderful. I was able to taste a few beers before making a decision. That’s useful and appreciated.
I ordered half margherita and half papay (sp?). Both were super. I ordered on the whole grain crust and did not regret my decision.

We were visiting the area and read good reviews about Zia’s, so we thought we would try it out! For two people, we ordered a pizza, half eggplant and half pepperoni mascarpone. The popular eggplant pizza had very interesting flavors, not something I expected to go well as a pizza. The pepperoni mascarpone was a bit underwhelming; maybe I was expecting more cheese or something more special but it tasted very ordinary. The chopped garlic on top was a good add though!
The dining room is very dim with an old style/​traditional feel. Not sure if they’re renovating or anything but there were a lot of extra chairs sitting around the booths, a bit odd.
We came on a Saturday at 5PM, right when they opened but the place gets busy quick!

I loveee their concoctions at Zia Pizza. I would definitely come back for more the next time I’m craving some unique combinations on a pizza. A true gem on Adams Avenue. I highly recommend ordering over the phone. It takes about 20 – 30 minutes for them to finish your pizza.
We ordered the small pepperoni pesto with mascarpone. OMG heaven on a slice! They were really generous with the mascarpone (see my photos) and the crust was perfect. Chewy and soft. When we arrived to pick up our pizza, I got gluttonous looking at their display of slices so I also ordered a slice of their eggplant pizza. This was also amazingly delicious. Honestly, all of their slices looked good! The total came out to be about $ 20. I would definitely come back. A slice of Zia pizza during a sports game or during a relaxed dinner on a weekday? Count me in!
