Great lunch – price, quality, staff was all great. Full bar in a family type restaurant was a nice surprise. Matt did a great job of making our group welcome. Thanks!

Visited DiMille’s this week while my wife & I had an hour to kill before an event. We were seated very promptly and I told our server that we had to be out the door in 30 minutes. Our drinks were served in less than 2 minutes along with a healthy basket of warm and tasty garlic bread and our meals arrived less than 5 minutes later. The fettuccine with chicken was quite good and on par with other similarly priced restaurants that I’ve been to. The chicken was thinly sliced and very flavorful and the sauce was deliciously cheesy. Two meals and two iced teas came to about $ 50 and our attentive server had us out the door with 3 minutes to spare. I will be back to try some of the other tasty looking items on the menu and recommend that you do the same if you’re in the Normal Heights area.

The other day we paid over $ 50 for one PIZZA, two house salads & two glasses of wine. No bargains here since they’ve raised their prices. Il Postino is a much better place for the same price.

After 14 years of frequenting this restaurant, I am always excited when visiting DiMilles and Kali is working. While the food is often good, when Kali is working the food AND the service is great. She is the gold standard when it comes to servers and now I frequent DiMilles because of her.

This place deserves 5 stars! Hands down one of the best Italian food restaurants I’ve eaten at. I ordered a Tortellini and it is so flavorful and delicious! Not bland like the other restaurants! I will be returning soon

Spectacular!!! Wow, over the top goodness. I am an egg plant Parmesan fan, this is the best I have ever had, grilled veggies on the side awesome. My wife had tomato cream tortellini, another over the top dish. Garlic bread light and tasty. A must stop. Can’t wait to return to try more of the menu.

When I used to practice at Pilgrimage Yoga, I always drove by this place and wondered if it was any good. There always seemed to be a ton of people there. I’m also not a picky Italian food eater – or so I thought. I have come here on three different occasions since moving to Normal Heights and every time it’s just been okay. The marinara sauce is really sour/tart and doesn’t permeate well into the lasagna, which was just meh overall. It seems to taste okay with just regular spaghetti, but I can easily make the same stuff from a can at home. My Italian roommate also had their sub sandwich and didn’t think it was anything that special. I will say that the canolis are good! The prices are okay and they do delivery which I think is great! However, after trying them multiple times, I’ve decided to give them up and make the extra drive over to Mona Lisa in my old neighborhood or head over to Lorna’s up in UC.

I’m disappointed in the delivery service offered. I’m not feeling well and decided to order pizza for my son. It’s been an hour and 10 mins. I finally receive a pizza that’s lukewarm and no apology other than«we didn’t get your fax from eat24.» I live one block away. I won’t eat here again. I was craving spicy salami pizza from Blind lady ale house anyway. Should’ve went with my gut!

Tonight we ordered for pick up, two kids fettuccine and wings. We arrived 20 minutes later, and when we got there, we paid and I gave a generous tip. Both my boys were ravenous. We proceeded to wait for an additional 15 minutes as the gal that helped us had no clue what she was doing and said she was waiting for a kid’s pasta to the cooks. We waited for what felt like an eternity(when you have two hungry little mouths to feed), when she realizes that our food had been ready and getting cold on the counter the entire time! Apparently she didn’t know the pasta was already there? To make matters worse, they only gave us ONE order of fettuccine. We clearly ordered two. My boys were crestfallen. DeMille’s you stink. And I regret giving you that nice tip! We won’t be ordering from you again anytime soon. My boys hate you now. Thanks the breaking my children’s heart.

Starting out I liked the menu options and that you could get any pasta and sauce with the order of the chicken parm. After getting the food to go, the portions were large and it even came with a small loaf of garlic bread. Sadly the food didn’t taste so good. My chicken parm. was soaking in a lot of red sauce and was dried out in the middle. My fettuccine Alfredo had lots of noodles stuck together and a scoop of sauce that tasted store bought. The garlic bread must have been old since I could barely cut through it and with all of that I didn’t even want to try the side salad. I ended up making my own alfredo sauce, which was way tastier, and my own chicken, which was moist. I leaned that when I want Italian food I’ll make it myself. If you’re not picky this place will be fine. If you are picky you might want to find a different place!

It’s ok, calamari app was way over fried. Ravioli ok. Rigatoni eggplant was good. Service is great. Savannah was cool.

The patio here is so nice. Perfect for groups. Dogs are welcome, and even offered water and a treat. There is often live entertainment on the patio. Classic Italian menu — everything that I have tried has been delicious. I recently had the veggie sandwich. It was made with delicious not-too-hard-not-too-soft bread, and the veggies were fresh and crunchy. It’s a big sandwich and the second half was great the next day. Brunch here is also very good, with specials on bloody Mary’s and mimosas. Try the bloody Maria if you like tequila! Italian isn’t my favorite type of food, so the very enthusiastic 5 stars are for the stellar service. Aaron is the best!

I have yet to come here for a couple of years even though I live down the street. There is an indoor and outdoor patio. Street parking may be difficult to find but there is also a small parking spots in the back. The place has table and booth seats, perfect for any date. The lights are dim and the music is settling. Our server was Danielle, in one of the right booths when you walk in. I ordered the seafood fettuccine Alfredo pasta but substituted the pasta to angel hair. This dish was great. The seafood was cooked perfectly. My only complaint would be the pasta was too dry and after you eat the first couple of bites that had all the flavor the bottom of the dish was left bland and dry. I also ordered the linguini clam pasta in white sauce. The clam was perfectly cooked but the pasta it’s self left a sour taste in my mouth. I asked Danielle if we could get our first dish again in exchange of this one and she was very polite and handled the situation perfectly. So two seafood Alfredo pastas for me! If you buy two entrees and check in you get two free mini cannoli’s. I’ve never tried it or knew what it is. But I took my cousin here for her birthday and she knew what cannoli’s were. They were good for my first time. I love how it is sprinkled in cinnamon and has little chocolate chips inside. My only complaint would be that the bread or crust I am unsure was too thick and hard. But I’m not a cannoli expert. Danielle was a great server. She was attentive and was running around EVERYWHERE the entire night. I hope to get her as our waitress the next time I decide to come.

Italian food is one of my favorite foods to eat and I like to search for local Italian food places for distinctive tastes. My boyfriend took me here and it is located in Normal Heights just nearby Northpark but a much more quiter neighborhood. Anyways, I’m very pleased with this family Italian restaurant. MENU: I wanted carbonara but they didn’t have that in their menu however, they had a list of their specialty pastas and I opted for the cream sauce tortellini. My boyfriend got the pesto with artichoke hearts and provolone pizza, both were equally delicious. Just like with the specialty pasta, they also have a list of specialty pizzas. Their menu pretty much covers all kinds of italian food. The portion is good but enough to take a little home with you for leftovers. The prices are decent but the portion of the food is fairly equal to the price. They also have gluten free pasta available. SERVICE: It was busy when we came here and we missed putting our names down on the list and a few guests came in after us signing the guest list but the waitress made sure to put our names down for the next available table. I thought that was nice of her and although we came at a busy time(around 7 pm) we got a table after a 5 minute wait. PARKING: No private lot parking but it’s not that bad parking on the streets. You can spot parking easily. Overall, I would definitely come here again. We left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. The place is pretty big in size and the noise level gets pretty loud but nothing to complain about. This place is great to take someone on a date or going with a group of friends to have delicious pizza if you’re in the nearby area.

Came here the evening of May 24 with my husband and two friends. Mathew was our server. Would love to give our experience more than 3 stars, but no can do. Had the meat ravioli with meat sauce and enjoyed garlic bread and Chianti, as well as cheesecake and the complimentary Unilocal check in mini cannolis for dessert. Next time, will get the lasagna instead. Tried my husband’s and it was much tastier than my ravioli. Great service and meal, but a loud large family party seated near us made the evening not so enjoyable. Suggestions for management: — If a customer is drunk, loud and obnoxious, please close out their check and ask them to leave. The rest of us shouldn’t suffer through a noisy meal with a customer dropping F bombs. Unacceptable. — Ditch the blended coffee drink machine. A proper cappuccino in an Italian restaurant should not be a light colored, sweet drink served in a tall Irish coffee glass. That’s something I’d get at 7 – 11. You should know better. shame on you! You used to serve real coffee drinks here – what happened?

We went to this place a couple of times for dinner before a concert series at a nearby location. The concert series had a «package» for dinner here and tickets to the concert. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre in our opinion. Nothing inspiring. Even with reservations, we had to wait, and were almost late to the concert. They didn’t seem thrilled that we had a «deal» for dinner. The portions were hearty, and the prices are reasonable, but there are so many great Italian places in San Diego that we won’t be back to this one.

My sidekick recommended this place after reading the Unilocal review. Came here on 3⁄12 for happy hour and early dinner. The drive from Carmel Valley, where we were staying at, to North Park was cray cray due to afternoon traffic but it doesn’t compare to LA traffic. This place has parking which is fabulous as I dislike driving around looking for a parking plus my friend was recovering from her post ankle surgery. Once inside the place, we were seated immediately by friendly staff. Our waiter was great as he was attentive and made recommendations. First though, drinks were ordered. My friend had her usual«foo foo» drink whereas I wanted a cold glass of Stella. Food came next, of course. Calamari for appetizer and for main entrees were chicken fettuccine for my friend and pizza for me. Being someone who has«big eyes», I ended up ordering a pizza way way too much. The BBQ chicken pizza was good but after two slices, it ended up being«to go.» Although, I am constantly in SD every few weeks, I am surprised that I’ve never been here before. It was worth trying this place out and I will definitely come back here again. Since it is almost summer time, pizza and beer go hand in hand.

Disappointed — ordered spag and meatballs to go– got all the way home and no meatballs, no Parma and no pepper packet. Bummer. I am sick which is why I ordered takeout so I won’t go back. They offered to deliver the meatballs right Away and then when they found out we lived in university heights said they said they could not deliver to us. They are Sending a gift certificate for our missing meatballs which is something but does not help our meal tonight. Boo hoo PS — 3 months later still no meatballs or certificate as promised…

We came here as a private party and the back bar area was reserved for our group of 15. A couple of us came in for happy hour drinks(5−7p) and the Wed night special is half priced bottled wines. Our buffet menu was caprese sticks, bruchetta, meatballs and bread, and bbq chicken. What I found disappointing was that we were not offered any sort of pasta or pizza. I mean this was an Italian restaurant right?! Well I made the comment in my head, while another one of our colleagues expressed it outloud. I couldn’t help but to laugh. The food was good and the service for our party was also very good. The popular item we all commented and raved about was the BBQ chicken. The sauce was actually really tasty! I really like the ambiance of this restaurant and they have a patio(dog friendly) on the side with live music. The patio was super busy and there were kids dancing in front of the performer. Looks like this is a pretty popular place! Thanks goodness they have their own parking lot too!
