Only been there once for really quick bite during my lunch break. The food was not the best, my burrito kept dripping oil, but I can say that the service was fast and the workers are friendly. I am planning to give it another try later. Parking is available.

The place looks great, but the quality of food is severely lacking. I called in an order of carne asada fries and they told me it would be ready in 3 – 5 minutes… I’m pretty sure that it takes more than 3 – 5 minutes to cook fries and carne asada… So obviously everything is already made and just sitting around waiting to be served. The food was cold, colorless, and bland. The meat had no flavor and the fries were not crispy. The quac was reminiscent of the pre made packages at the grocery store… We are like 5 minutes from Mexico. I guess I expected a touch of authenticity. This place is on par with McDonald’s. I ate it because I was starving.

Food is on point but the pico de Gallo on top of my food kills it for me… NOBUENO! They have the best green sauce in my opinion. Order the surf-n-turf burrito!

This place is a PROBLEM. I’m trying to be on a diet, and Burros is down the hill taunting me from the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep. I want to lay my head down on a giant Surf & Turf burrito and have sweet dreams of swimming in flautas and guacasalsa. This food is so delicious that it has literally made me not want anything else. DAMNYOUBURROS!!!

I’ve been coming here around 2 times a week for about 6 months now, I have yet to have a bad meal. The food always seems fresh, the restaurant is new and clean. I’ve tried many different items and all are good so far. There a lot of good Mexican spots in San Diego, this is definitely one of them. I love the free hot carrots at the salsa bar!

Love this place. Usually at least as good as the more well known tacos el gordo but at a much lower price. Also offers a wider variaty. I love the shrimp cali burrito.

The girl wiped down the table and then the salsa bar and pushed the hot carrots with the same rag that cleaned everything back into the tub for other people to eat. And she would not put her phone down for anything. She texted for 2 whole minutes before putting my food into a bag.

Carne Asada fries are great, not stingy on the meat or cheese. Need to work on their hot sauces tho, need to add a really spicy one! Love this place and they are always nice here.

My new favorite spot for Carne Asada Fries, in particular their Surf & Turf Fries! I went back to my former favorite spot but it did not satisfy like Burros & Fries does. My only gripe with it, is that the white sauce and the guacamole are not spread evenly across the fries — one side has guac and the other side has white sauce. PLEASEFIX!

I would give them 5 stars because they do have good meat and really delicious carne asada burritos and Cali burritos. But they take a really long time to cook your food and its every time we go. Last time we went we ordered a carne asada burrito and a beef taco. Took 30 minutes!!! and there were only 2 more customers before that. But that’s how it is every time we go. The beef taco was really hard and overcooked but the carne asada burrito was really good. On three separate occasions we have ordered 2 Cali burritos with guacamole, totaling $ 16+ each time and they straight up forget the guacamole. They charged us for it, it’s right there on the receipt but not in the burrito but by the time we get home it’s too late. I don’t have time to go back and wait 30 more minutes but if you are charging almost a dollar for extra guac make sure you put it in the burritos!!! Is that too much to ask?

My coworker stopped by today 10÷31÷15 to pick up burritos for work. I had always heard amazing things from coworkers, so decided to order one. When I got my burrito I cut it in half and saw that there were fries, cheese, carne asada and egg. It also had a funky meat smell. I decided to give it a try, maybe I was just having second thoughts from ordering from a place I had never tried before. I took two bites when I realized the meat was bad, as if it had been left in room temperature for a few hours before cooking. The egg was burned and it looked like it has been cooked in old oil. There were eggshell pieces in my burrito. The cheese looked and tasted like old cheap yellow cheese. Simply disgusting! Never again will I purchase or recommend this place!!!

Wow my husband ordered a super chicken burrito and we didn’t expect to leave with a 12 inches burrito on hand. Not only that the burrito was huge but it tasted AMAZING. We couldn’t even finish it because it was so big. We need this place in the Bay Area.

First time here. Ordered the half order of chipotle chicken fries. I could already tell it was going to satisfy me by the aroma. When I got home and opened the box. I was even more impressed by how generous they were with guacamole! Also. the ratio of each ingredient was perfectly balanced! I took this to go. and everyone knows that when you order anything with fries it will be soggy by the time you eat. The fries were unbelievably crispy still! so impressed! The chipotle flavor could have been a little stronger but it was still very tasty! So, why the one star? I ate half of the box and now. I am having the worst stomach cramps Ive ever had in my life! they’ve been coming strong since 15 mins after eating the food! The food preparation here clearly needs to be revised! Horrible! I always get scared ordering chicken from taco shops but seeing that this is a trendier and more modern looking type of establishment. I thought It wouldn’t be a problem! I guess you cant judge a book by its cover! I rarely eat taco shop. Probably once a month. Ive been to the ghettoest taco shops. including road side taco stands in Tj and I have never gotten sick! Something I thought was going to turn out good ended horribly. I will probably be late to work tomorrow cause I’m unable to sleep because of all the pain I’m in!

I’ve eaten here extensively in the past few months and have been satisfied with most everything ordered. But I started out weary and began documenting my first couple of times. This is one of the few taco shops I trust to eat at in the south bay area and prefer the customer service from here than Jilberto’s across the street. 2nd Visit: Ordered the chicken flautas and was okay with the presentation but the flautas could have used more chicken because they did seem skimpy. The plate could have used more rice and beans as well but I was satisfied with the scoop of sour cream, guacamole, and chopped pico lettuce salad. However, the flautas could have used more time in the deep fryer since the flour tortilla was raw in some parts when I was eating them. Prefer my flautas from Señor Pancho but they weren’t half bad here. 1st visit: Chorizo breakfast burrito contained all meat of a flavorful quality worthy ground chorizo and only one egg. I will for sure request at least 2 eggs or maybe even 3 mixed into my chorizo burrito next time(if I ever dare order it again). The chorizo burro was drowning in grease and it was actually quite disturbing to look at all over my hands and mouth and styro-foam disposable tray it was served on. Thought maybe it might have came with beans or at least potatoes pero nada. Still good though only it was a heart attack wrapped up in flour tortilla. Man vs Food test that tested if I truly loved eating chorizo or not and man won in this battle. Only it took an extra side order of guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and nearly 4 salsa containers just to get the entire chorizo burrito down.

Came to Burros and Fries for dinner. I didn’t even know this place existed until we saw it. We originally had made plans to go to L&L but wanted something different. We saw Burros and Fries a few doors down and decided to try some place new. We walk in and there are photos hanging on the wall and a lady at the register waiting for our order. They have a pretty extensive menu and have daily specials. I ordered the fish rolled tacos. As if I didn’t get enough fish today. LOL! I had been craving fish all day. To have it in a rolled taco was something different. They had a tea machine with different flavors such as citrus, raspberry, sweetened and unsweetened. I go with the citrus flavored tea. It was tasty and had hints of citrus and wasn’t sweet. They carry Coke products which I favor more if I had to drink soda. All you can drink if you dine inside. On to my fish rolled tacos. I had 5 rolled tacos. It was covered with a cream sauce with cabbage, tomatoes and the white cotija cheese on top. I picked one up and took a bite. Nice firm crunch with the fish inside. Yum! I dunked it in the green sauce which is my favorite. Green sauce was good. The carrots were spicy. For those of you that like hot, this is the place to get the sauces. Food was great. I highly recommend this place. So good. I will definitely come back to try a burrito and other items they sell here. There’s about 7 booths that are inside which is fairly small but most people take their orders to go. Plenty of parking in front of the business. I gave it five stars cause they have air conditioning. My fish rolled tacos were good!

Cool little spot for some typical mexican grub. Came here on a tuesday night. I tried their buffalo chicken fries which were surprisingly good. Their special for Taco Tuesday was 1.69 for the typical street tacos such as Carne asada, adobada, carnitas, fish and pollo. I ordered the Carne asada and the fish taco. The Carne asada was alright and pretty basic nothing to brag about and their fish taco was pretty disappointing. It had no flavor, tasted like it was soaked in oil and wasn’t crispy for it being deep fried.

If you like Mexican food this is an alright place to go to. I like carne asada burritos so I was surprised to find out that they have a whole wheat tortilla. If you’re in this area its decently portioned and priced. The only reason I rate this 3 stars is because South San Diego has many competitors vying to be the best for Mexican food. Its just hard to get a good rating because of how close this place is to the border. But if youre looking for quick and somewhat healthy Mexican food, this is it. I recommend: Carne Asada Buritto on Whole Wheat Tortilla

I have been here 3 times already and can only remember 2 of the visits. The food is not bad, it is actually pretty good and you do pay for it. This last visit I had the queso tacos which is something different. It is a regular taco with queso in it which is not something usually seen in a taco shop. It was pretty good. I can not remember having anything bad here. Food is pretty good but it does cost a little more than regular taco shops in the area. Place is very clean and is more upscale. They do have refillable drinks for the soda addict.

Todo esta bien el lugar se ve limpio y la comida huele bien lo único que la srita. que esta cobrando y entregando la orden trae el pelo suelto y esta acomodándolo de un lado a otro con la mano, encima de la comida… Eso es un poco antihigiénico
