Stopped in at Big Mouth Burger during a recent visit to San Fran. Found it on Unilocal and was happily surprised by it. Burger was large and juicy. I had the Hawaiian and it was easily the best one I’ve had. My wife had the 49ers burger, which is really a chicken sandwich, which she loved. Portions are large, so come hungry! We are glad we stopped in and it’s much better than any of the chain options found locally around it. Excellent and if in the area, we will stop in again.

Holy Moly… this place is awesome. I LOVE burgers, so much that I did a cross-country trip 2 years ago to find the best burger and… this one was amongst my top 3! I am totally impressed with the menu and quality of food.

The people that work there need to learn that the most important person in the store is the person standing in front of them willing to give them money for their food. NOT the person who calls on the phone. I am tired of going into Big Mouth Burger and standing in line for ten minutes and when I get to the register the person there say«Oh just a minute» while they key in telephone orders. This is ridiculous to make people wait even LONGER while they key in orders from the phone. Their food is good, their service, not so much!

I live in the neighborhood. I tried this place the first time it opened and was disappointed. I decided to give it another try. I was hoping to like it and make this one of my regular joints. Sadly, it failed again. Never going to waste my money on this place ever again! Nothing special. Overpriced burgers. Patty is flavorless. Bun was served burnt. Super soggy, burnt fries. They must have not replaced the oil in decades! I got the kids burger size for $ 6.95. Changed fries to garlic fries. My bill turned out to be almost $ 10! I could have gone to Carl’s or Five Guys and would have been a lot happier. I don’t understand how this place gets packed with people with this kind of food.

My boyfriend an I enjoyed our meal which was The standard burger, the Giants burger, fries, coleslaw and 2 vanilla shakes. We ordered online and picked up but why I gave this place 3 stars is for lack of detail. The Giants burger is supposed to come with garlic fries which we received as plain and we asked for ketchup which she said was in the bag, we got 2. The fries weren’t really our favorite either they were plain and some not fully cooked as for they were hard. I’d come back again but try something different with no fries!

Big Mouth Burger creates a great atmosphere for any scene. Whether it’s family, or a date, or just a couple of friends relaxing together. Both stores are identical. The prices are great. You get a great meal for what you’re paying for. Whether it be a burger, sandwich, or even some wings. You’re not breaking bank for a killer meal that fills you up all day. The customer service is great, waiters are always friendly ensuring you have a great time, food is always on time and go the extra mile to make sure you have no problems. The owner is usually always at the stores, that being said you have a great chance of running into him while ordering some food. Great man! Always happy and thrilled to talk to his customers. I suggest Big Mouth to anyone and everyone, from tourists! To locals. And I highly recommend ordering one of their milkshakes, which is made with the Bay Area’s famous Mitchell’s Ice Cream.

Delicious burgers and excellent customer service. Whenever I feel like a quality cheeseburger I always come here. I recommend the«Hangover burger», its a burger topped with egg and bacon. They also have beer on tap and milkshakes.

Better off going to Carl’s Jr next door. Serious. Really underwhelmed. I’ve been excited to try this place and came hungry. Had the standard, big mouth burger. It was really one of the lamest tasting burgers I’ve ever had! And it was $ 11.25! I was considering asking for a refund. I seldom write Unilocal reviews. Call Gordon Ramsay to fix this place. The only saving grace was the front staff were nice, but the cooks were in their old world doing the bare minimum watching soccer.

Good burgers, but a bit on the pricier side $ 9.95 and up. Each additional topping like cheese, bacon or avocado is $ 1 each. I would have preferred thin cut and crispy fries, as opposed to steak cut and sort of soft, but that’s just me. Service was great and prompt.

Something has happened to the service. In the last month I have walked out several times without ordering because the line was so long! One time the line was very long and the guy at the register was busy inputting telephone orders and making the people waiting in line to order wait even longer. This used to be my favorite place. NOT so much anymore. Food has always been good.

Had a Giants burger, with Chipotlenaise instead of bbq sauce, with half fries and half rings, and it was all delicious! Wasn’t crowded, they had the Warrior game on while I waited for food, will go again.

They have an extensive menu of burgers here. The burgers are really large. If I came back, I’d probably split a burger with another person and get an extra side of something(onion rings, salad, etc.). Ambiance: Quaint but clean and there are a decent amount of tables. Service: You order at the counter and then find a seat. The young man who took our order was really friendly and the young lady who brought our food was nice too. She quickly brought us some dipping sauces for our fries when we asked. Food: The burger was a little greasy and too juicy for my taste. It was messy and wouldn’t be good the next day because of how wet the bread got. Even so, I enjoyed my meal. The service is why I gave them 4 stars, otherwise I’d have probably rated them a 3 on the food. I got a big mouth burger with garlic fries instead of regular. The garlic fries were good. I wish they weren’t so thick cut, but the garlic was real and strong, which meant it was fresh.

Looking for a legit charbroiled burger? You have found the place! Stopped by after a Black Friday shopping(had to get away from the masses… Err asses that were everywhere) and just wanted to have a seat and have a great bite to eat. There are numerous options on the menu from salads, hotdogs and cheesesteaks to fish & chips. I decided on the Giants burger and boy did it not disappoint! Think a half pound western style burger, provolone cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon and an onion ring on top. It also comes with garlic fries to give you that authentic ball park feeling. And I figured why not have some garlic fries so ward off the evil little deal seekers that could careless about stepping on my J’s so they could grab a toaster that has been marked down ten bucks… The staff was more than accommodating and made sure my glass of water was full and that I had a to-go container for my left overs cause there was no way I was going to be able to finish that behemoth in one sitting.

Good place to have a burger and fries while catching whatever game is on in San Bruno. I was a little early and couldnt check-in to my hotel in nearby Millbrae and I was craving a burger. Unilocal took me here and I made the 10 – 15 min drive on surface streets and found Big Mouth Burgers in the corner of a shopping plaza. My 1st impression is that the place looked like it had a lot of regular customers and that was a good thing. It had a neighborhood feel to it and I liked that. There are some memorabilia on the wall for local sports teams like the Giants and Warriors. That was cool too see. Cant remember if I saw my beloved Niners represented but they should be. I ordered a big mouth burger with mild cheddar cheese. The way it works is: You choose your bread(plain, wheat roll, french roll or herb foccacia, you choose your spread(plain mayo, spicy chipotle mayo, bbq sauce, teriyaki, roasted garlic pesto or sun dried tomato aioli). Cheeses, mushrooms and bacon are extra(95 cents). You choose whether you want french fries, baked beans or cole slaw as a side. I liked the burger. It was a good patty. Cooked just right and the melted cheese on the patty is very necessary. It came with LTO and a pickle. It looked great and it tasted very good. The fries were good too. I should have asked for them to be well-done as the crispier ones to me were better. Service was friendly. Baseball playoffs were on. I had a table right in front of the TV. I was back home in the Bay with a great cheeseburger in hand. I was golden. Big Mouth Burgers. Check em out when you’re in SB.

We are new to the area, and will give it another shot for sure. Maybe I’ll have a 5-star burger next time. Pineapple Teriyaki Burger on White Bun with Sweet Potato Fries(3⁄5): I ordered medium-rare and my burger was definitely closer to well-done, but not to the point that it was dry. I love a good sweet-savory combo, so I was excited to try this burger. We got the burgers to-go, and live a block away. The teriyaki sauce on both top and bottom bun made it soggy within the 5 minutes it took to get home — maybe go lighter on the sauce, or only dress the top bun? The sweet potato fries were yummy — my palette wanted more salt — and the ketchup-y spiny sauce of some sort was deeeeelicious. My boyfriend had the hangover burger, and while it was good, his medium rare order was again cooked closer to well done, but I’ll let him« Unilocal» about that :)

Holy heart attack. My boyfriend who’s been here a few times brought me here when we were both craving a fat delicious burger– something we knew we would soon regret. I’m so glad he took me here! We both ordered The Hangover burger, which came with a fried egg, bacon, Chipotle mayo, and American cheese. Yes, it does taste as amazing as it sounds. The patty was cooked at the perfect medium level we asked for and who can complain about a sunny side up egg? This place is far from being gourmet, but I felt the burger came pretty darn close. I also think it’s hilarious that this burger joint is right next to a gym! Talk about testing your will power.

Decent! Not the best burgers ever, but it was a good snack to tide us over before our flights at SFO. I ordered the Big Mouth Burger, well-done. It came with: a half pound of all natural prime ground chuck, broiled medium on your choice of bun with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onions and mayo. Pretty decent. Not the tastiest burger, for sure, but it did the trick. I wasn’t a huge fan of the fries, though. A bit dry for my taste. I wouldn’t clamor to go back, but if you’re in the neighborhood and need a quick bite to eat, it’s A-OK.

My favorite burger joint in San Bruno! I had been craving a burger but, didn’t feel like dealing with the lines at the Habit or the hassle of going to the mall at Five Guys in Tanforan. The burgers at these places just don’t justify dealing with all the hassle. We decided to hit up Big Mouth and we were happy we did. I ordered a regular cheeseburger and my friend order a bacon cheeseburger. I think I made a mistake by not remembering to add bacon and grilled onions to my burger but, despite this oversight I was pleased with my burger. Service was excellent like all my previous visits. The burgers were cooked perfectly. I hate it when the burger is either undercooked or overcooked. That was not the case tonight. It cooked just like I ordered it. I also ordered onion rings and a chocolate shake which was made with REAL ice cream. The total was in the $ 40 due to all the extras. If you subtract the extras that I ordered it would be in the $ 25 mark for two people which I consider a great deal for the money. I’ll always continue to patronize this restaurant based on their great service and food! So, if you have to choose between Red Robin, BJ’s, Five Guys or Habit your best choice is still Big Mouth Burgers!

Summary: Lots of tasty and original burgers but inconsistent preparation of them. The good news: The burgers are big and delicious. The meat is juicy, the bread is lightly toasted, the burgers were served open faced with some very fresh vegetables. There are a lot of options to try — adding pesto gets you a big mound of garlic-y pesto — yum! You get a choice of breads. I went with the classic bun, but the foccacia seems popular as well. The bad news: The cooking seemed to have a different definition. I ordered medium and got a product that was almost well done. My friend wanted well done and it was still similar to my burger. The question almost felt like a moot point. The garlic fries were not particularly strong in garlic flavor, considering they pair it with the Giants burger as a reference to the AT&T ball park snack. The fries themselves were also not very satisfying. They were thick, but not quite steak cut and soft, but also not quite steak fries soft. It felt underwhelming for my expectation. I think the burgers have a lot of promise, and wouldn’t mind trying some of their other creations, but not sure if I’m going to get sides again.

Was craving a burger recently when I was in San Bruno and decided to give Big Mouth Burgers a shot. I ordered the Original Big Mouth burger medium and it was cooked perfectly. The patty was pink and very juicy. It was served open-faced, so you can add your veggies as you see fit. Of course, I added everything except the tomatoes, since I’m just not a fan of the red things. The burger was tasty and larger than I expected. The french fries were also cooked perfectly and tasty. I left feeling very satisfied and full. Service was really good and the staff was super friendly.

Had the original big mouth burger rare with garlic fries. So bloody good. Patty was perfectly cooked; pink and juicy. The burger is served open face so you can stack your own lettuce, tomato n red onions. Fat fries with crisp skin and a whole lot of garlic. Yes! It’s not garlic fries if you don’t get garlic breath after. Solid burger joint.

It makes me sad to give this place two stars. I really want to like Big Mouth. I’ve given them about five tries. I’ve tried the chicken burgers, the regular burgers, and the salads. I have been sadly disappointed each time. The food/menu has so much potential. The burgers are overcooked and salty. The salads are pre-made, so you cannot ask for modifications(ie. no cilantro or red onion). The chicken seems dry on both salads and as a «burger.» The staff is has always been friendly, and the space is pretty cool. But, you go there for the food, and it just isn’t what I expect from a burger joint.

2.5STARS Some of my friends and I have some very inappropriate convos. One day, the topic of the day were 8====D. I will never forget what my gf said, «There’s no point of having a big *BEEP*, if you can’t work it.» Hmm, I never thought about it that way but she’s right. SAME things applies here. Burgers aren’t 8===D but the analogy works in this case. Big Mouth Burgers deliver on being s-t-a-c-k-e-d to the point you have to stretch open your mouth to take the first bite. In fact, I had to remove the lettuce, tomato and onion because I couldn’t fit the burger in my mouth on the first try. While they’re HUGE, the burgers are low-quality grease bombs. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy cheapy burgers from chains like Red Robin, but the burgers here are way below par for the price. We came to Big Mouth Burgers by default because our first choice for lunch was packed and Big Mouth Burgers had a bunch of empty, dog-friendly outdoor seating(we were going to the dog park afterwards). In addition to burgers($ 7.95 — $ 12.95), there’s salads, sandwiches, fish & chips, and hot dogs on the menu. For burgers, there’s a choice of a plain bun, French roll, herb focaccia, wheat bun, or gluten-free bun(+$ 1.75), choice of sauces: mayo, spicy chipotle mayo, bbq, pesto, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomato aioli, or teriyaki, and choice of sides: fries, baked beans, coleslaw, garlic fries(+$ 1), sweet potato fries(+$ 1), or onion rings(+$ 1). I was battling a bit of hangover because I seemingly forgot the night before that I can no longer drink like a fish in my 30s without some consequences. Ordering The Hangover Burger w/fried egg, American cheese & bacon($ 11.95) seemed appropriate: but I soon regretted it after taking the first bite. The are those cheap, generic quality buns and are about 98% untoasted. Yah, it’s odd so let me explain. Only part of the edge of the top bun was charred so I’m guessing it was placed near a flame by accident? The bottom bun(definitely not toasted) was completely drenched with the grease from the burger patty so I took the bottom half off. While the patty is thick, it managed to be greasy and dry at the same time. Even though we requested medium rare, it came out more well done. The fried egg was well done. Bacon was super crunchy so that was fine. The cheese tasted like artificial government cheese. It was melted, but it had a icky clumpy texture. The sides were anything but redeeming. I upgraded to beer battered onion rings but the batter was hard(forgot beer?). I tried one of Mr. NSS’ fries and it was limp and soggy. For $ 12, I expected better quality burgers so I’m really shocked at the five star reviews. You can pay $ 2-$ 3 more and get a stellar burger in SF with fresh hand ground beef, housemade bread, and trice-cooked kennebec fries at one of the many yipster places. I’m not the one to count calories and my thunder thighs can attest to this but this grease bomb of meal was purely not worth the calories so I called it a day after several bites. Thank goodness for human garbage disposals, otherwise known as bfs! Two stars for the food but the staff was really nice and checked in with use even if there’s no waiter service(order at the counter), and they’re dog-friendly so tacking on .5 stars and rounding up.
