honestly i prefer five guys over in’n’out burgers. trust me, had in’n’out for five years — and even if it’s closer to my house. i’d probably go there for the milkshakes. hah. had it recently because my family raved about it continuously so i managed to try a piece(or well, a burger) of it. something about the flavoring of the patty meat has me feeling as if i tasted heaven right then and there. the cheese they put on the burgers, melts over it and every flavor you can taste so well. i love it so much. this is the location on the top, second floor right across the movie theatre. keep in mind that despite their well amount of employees it gets hectic; there will be a line and waiting but it’s worth it. the price is a bit expensive but you’re paying for good quality. it’s a burger that’s hot and ready to sink into your mouth. plus, unlimited choices of toppings for your burgers. want onions? got it. maybe some other ones with lettuce and tomato — also have that too. also tried the fries and they’re pretty good too, love seasoning it with a well amount of pepper than salt.(weird, i know but it’s my preference when eating fries hah.) there’s a good selection of sodas that you can choose from and all you can eat nuts on the side so there’s a plus. as for customer service, they’re pretty nice and quick when they work. kinda like how easy it is for me to see what they’re doing, got my eye on them. hah. plus the guy who worked on the cashier was friendly, listed off what we ordered for confirmation and had a recommendation which is all appreciated. – burgers range around 7 $ – fries usually are 4 $ – drinks are under 3 $ or around that. it’s a lot more expensive that most fast food /burger joints but it’s well worth a meal that’ll satisfy you for a few hours or the rest of the night.

Not bad Five Guys. Yay for another east coast chain moving into the west coast. Since this place opened, it seemed like Tanforan gained a shiny new addition. What establishment occupied this spot before Five Guys came here? $ 7.29 for a Cheeseburger & $ 5.29 for a Little Cheeseburger is rather expensive for a fast food burger. I guess they’re aiming for the fast-casual category. It still looks very much like a fast food chain to me. Still I hoped it would be worth it since they claim the ingredients are fresh. But the thin beef patties were very dry & cooked through to a tough texture. A juicy beef patty is key for me. I wouldn’t have minded if weren’t for the cost. I am also not a fan of the iceberg lettuce. The tomatoes tasted juicy and fresh though. All Toppings Free — That’s cool. Too bad I’m not really into a ton of toppings. I prefer to taste the beef in the burger. I’m usually good with some lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Since they advertise all free toppings, why can’t cheese be free? Why do so many places charge an extra dollar just to add cheese? Cheese is always necessary. What is a burger without cheese? What is bread without butter? What is rice without curry? You get my point. I appreciate that they wrap the burgers in aluminum foil to prevent leakage, but it tends to deflate the bun and flatten the sandwich. Also, foil locks in moisture and tends to make the contents a little soggy. I’m not crazy about fries, but I’ll eat ‘em if I see ‘em in front of me. However, crinkle cut fries are my least favorite type of fry, because they’re rather soft and mushy. Their Cajun fries are better, but too salty for me. The taste lingers in my mouth for hours on end. Their free peanuts are an interesting touch. I’d appreciate it more if I liked peanuts and if the shells didn’t make such a mess everywhere. I’m also not a soda lover(I know it seems like I don’t love anything, but bear with me), but I’m rather enamored with the soda machine. So many options, so many buttons to press. I’m into it, but these machines are becoming rather ubiquitous these days. Five Guys is still a good option for relatively inexpensive, quick food if you just got out of a movie and everything else is closed already.

I read some of the reviews and I think people really just love to complain. A food business like five guys is not going to stop people from buying their food just because of the way they are dressed, or «look like thugs«. Please people– when you write a review think about what you’re writing BEFORE you write it. And decide if you’re being too dramatic or not. Yes the place is small– it’s a food shop in the mall. It is not going to be huge. If you do not like cramped spaces, don’t come to the mall to eat. It was slightly dirty, by I found a place to sit down that wasn’t dirty or crowded. When I came here, they were out of bacon(which is fine because I stopped eating pork) and fries, which was ok because I wasn’t that hungry. I ordered the hamburger with grilled onions and mushrooms, and a splash of A1 sauce because I’m addicted to that stuff. I thought it was a pretty solid burger, with good taste and not soggy. Even had peanuts to munch on. I would recommend, only if you are not particularly whiny about it being slightly messy or having lunch next to people that may not suit your taste.

This place is not cheap or fast. Ordered a couple cheeseburgers at $ 7.50 each then with regular fries that is another $ 4 and with a drink on top of that is another $ 2.50. That is $ 30 for a simple hamburger and fries at a place where one needs to find their own seating. And the only good part is they have bulk peanuts that people can munch on, which is good since the hamburger and fries wasn’t filling for me. Now after ordering I had to wait another 30 mins for them to put it all together. Someone with a peanut allergy can die from all the peanut shells all over the floor alone.

I like this place. Service is friendly and prompt. Food is great. Wish their fries were not fried in peanut oil bc my child has a peanut allergy. Love their beverage kiosk! We always come here to dine when we’re at tanforan.

Good burger place, the burgers are tasty; be really careful though because if you’re allergic to peanuts you might not walk out of there alive, other than that it’s a good place to eat burgers my brother and my sisters loves coming here, one thing I noticed/tasted is that the ketchup bottles are refilled with new ketchup all the time and the old ketchup gets mixed with the new ketchup and it tastes very bad; sometimes the floor could be messy because of the peanuts but the staff does a good job on keeping the floor clean.

PEANUTSWARNING! if your allergic then this place is is a death trap. There free peanuts in shells and its everywhere Best freakin burgers ever! It it’s design reminds me of «On N Out» accept a lot of raving review posters along the wall. The topping selection is amazing, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, BBQ sauce, pickles, tomatoes… I think there’s more but best to order a cheese burger with everything :) The fries are nothing like«In N Out» fries. They are to die for! Regular or Cajun style are great and they advertised which farm the spuds come from. What’s also cool is they have peanuts in a shell and he soda fountain is state of the art. It’s a really cool burger spot that I will keep coming back for more.

Ordered a burger all the way with NOMUSHROOMS. Got home and found out they had given me a hamburger with nothing but mushrooms. The girl at the registers was really nice and she did take my order correctly. Even though I didn’t get what I wanted Five Guys is still a good place to get a cheap and tasty burger.

I LOVE Five Guys burgers! Ate the double cheeseburger protein style. They looked at me like I was crazy. It was harder for them since they usually make it with a bun. Oh well. It was freakin’ awesome. And I got a fries for CL& I. We shared the sweet tea and it was so refreshing for the oh SO hot day. Five guys you’re great!!!

Hubby had been wanting to try 5 Guys burgers for a while. So, while shopping at the Tanforan Mall, we decided to try the burgers for lunch. Hubby’s regular hamburger was a double patty which surprised him because he wasn’t expecting such a huge burger. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickles, condiments. Way too much food for him. I had the small cheeseburger. 5 Guys’ call to fame is their hand formed burger patties. I thought the burger was decent but not any better than what you can make yourself at home with handcrafted patties the Bobby Flay way. They’re better than chains like McDonald’s or Burger King. The patty is cooked well done and not dried out. The fries were good, better than those at In and Out Burgers. And they’re real fries not like the artificial ones at fast food chains. They have a box of roasted, salted peanuts for you to help yourself to. They were better than the burgers in my opinion. Good burgers, better fries. Most of the workers today looked like either high school kids or college kids except for the cook.

This review is for a visit last Saturday 5⁄16 and even though it is not my first time at five guys I thought I should review it regardless. There are only two burger restaurants I visit here and there in the Bay Area. This is number two, but I am never disappointed with service, quality, time. The burgers are made right on the spot, the meat is never frozen and it just gives these burgers a unique taste. I love the fact that you can add many different toppings at no extra charge. I like to make my order here a bit interesting. I usually get the Cajun fries from this place, and they are never shy about the quantity they put in the bag. The service is friendly from the moment you order until you receive your order. The only downfall here is the limited tables, but besides that everything else has my approval. The lines can get a bit long but the employees do a great job at keeping up with the demand.

*MANAGEMENTPLEASEREAD* I’ve always considered Five Guys as a three start joint. However, what made me reconsider my rating is their Customer Service. I went to this location this past weekend and my boyfriend wanted to grab a Little Bacon Burger before we headed to the movies. Well, we sneaked it into the movies so he could eat it during the previews. However, once we all got situated and he was half way finished. He mentioned to me that he ordered his burger with bacon and there was no bacon in it! I peaked over and confirmed there wasn’t any bacon. He said he was bummed, but was okay with it. Despite this, I insisted in calling Five Guys to inform them they didn’t get the order correct. Once I called, they immediately apologized and offered me the same burger made the right way. I was impressed and we came back after the movie to a Little Bacon Burger ready for us. I am very pleased with their great Customer Service and in fact will come back even more than before!

A lot of people compare this place to In-N-Out and I can see why. The concept is pretty much the same. I have come to try this out and see which chain is better! I honestly have to say Five Guys taste better BECAUSE of the numerous toppings they have. They stack that baby up so high, takes 2 bites to make it consider as 1. I got the Cheeseburger All the way and it was a delight. For $ 6.49, I ate about half and was done. It came with 2 thin patties, an oily bun(gross), and a stack of toppings. Definitely will be back for more. Fries on the other hand are not that great. I would prefer In-N-Out fries(ANIMALSTYLEPLEASE!). The fries here weren’t as good because they weren’t crispy enough and they were very brown(no it’s not the skin…) Short story: I wanted the secret menu item Double Grilled Cheese Burger. The guy didn’t hear me and punched in cheeseburger(I didn’t notice until after I got my receipt). Then when I ordered another regular cheeseburger, he gave me this disapproving look. Boi, don’t look at me lyk dat!

Five guys is a chain burger location that doesn’t offer inferior chains lack of flavor and quality. Every time I go I always get the cheeseburger or the bacon cheeseburger done«all the way». «All the way» basically means all the selected and amazing toppings such as: sautéed onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, and a few other delectable toppings. With almost a laundry list of toppings to choose from, any burger that you get from Five Guys can get pretty messy. But it’s so worth it because it’s always delicious and they give you almost a bag full of fries. Combine that with fact that they give you an unlimited amounts of free peanuts, Five Guys is «legit». Although it sounds like an amazing burger spot, five guys does come with some downfalls. The first downfall is the fact that the foil they wrap their burgers in make it very soggy, if you don’t eat immediately. Also depending on how busy it is there can be a significant wait time. Anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes for your order, but like I said it depends on how busy it is. But with burgers, in my opinion, that are superior to In N Out, I feel it can definitely be worth it and very filling.

This was our first time ever at a five guys. Everyone rages about it and I felt like it was a normal burger joint but boy was I wrong. Fries: They showed us cup sizes and the reg is a 2 – 3 person serving size. I was really confused but trusted them and shared with my bf. One patty hamburger: Toppings aren’t additional!!! I couldn’t believe it. I should of went crazy with toppings. Everywhere else they charge more. I ordered mine with mushroom and onion. Double patty cheeseburger: Heaven!!! My bf walked with me to the seating area and I was like that’s a huge bag for so little. They put a whole basket of fries in the bag!!! Apparently, they always do that I later found out. Definitely check this place out. You get wayyyy more bang for your buck.

Not bad. Not great either. The fries are soggy and so so. I don’t get the hype. It ain’t In-N-Out.
