Had breakfast here. The restaurant is small, but wasn’t too full Saturday at 11am. I had to try the vida Mia chilaquiles as they are the most popular. I opted for the eggs. I’m used to the eggs mixed with the tortilla. This time the tortilla strips were layered on the bottom with the eggs on top. The dish was really tasty. I opted for both sauces and I liked the red one better, but both were good. We also had the el gallito with barbacoa. That was ok, but not as good as the chilaquiles. The waitress was excellent and our food came out fast.

Great Mexican breakfast with more depth to the menu than your typical San Antonio restaurant. The food is excellent and fresh and the prices are more than reasonable.

We went for breakfast and were overall disappointed. It started on a high note, with two complementary sweet gorditas which transported me to my childhood in Monterrey. But then we had the chilaquiles, and I doubt we’ll ever come back. I ordered the huastecos(chile pasilla and chicharrón), my husband had el piporro(chilaquiles with machacado). Chilaquiles were made with tortilla chips instead of tortillas. They open a bag of chips, put them on a plate and put some stuff on top of them. That’s just not what I expect from my chilaquiles. I did not finish my plate, and that’s very unusual for me. Flavors were not that great either, except for the machado which was good(but I’ve had better). Maybe if we’d ordered something different I would have been happier, but the 30 minute drive is not worth a second try.

Went in for lunch and wasn’t too thrilled about Vida Mia’s food. Many of the dishes we ordered were off in some way. For instance, the al pastor was covered in a thick paste, the menudo broth tasted on the sour side and there was absolutely NO hominy, only chili powdered fried potatoes are served with most meals, and the sopes were ok… not as fresh as I’ve had at other places. Their sweet empanadas were alright but wouldn’t order again. On the plus side, they have really great salsa and nice customer service!

Yummy yummy! I was looking for some good pozole on a cold day and discovered this place really close to home! Hubby had the Gallito plate and loved it! Came back today and hubby had Sincronizadas and I had the Porfirio which were both really good. Very friendly atmosphere run by a sweet family who originally ran a restaurant in Mexico. it is a small place that stays busy so you may have a small wait but it is well worth it! Love supporting a small business!

A must place to eat in San Antonio! It reminds me my mom’s kitchen, back in northeastern Mexico, starting for the flavor and spices on the salsas. I personally recommend the chilaquiles plate. My husband tried the tortilla’s soup and he loved it. Vida Mia makes me feel I am eating with my family in Mexico. The attention and service from the owners and servers was great. My daugther drop a spoon on the floor and immediately the server gave us a new set of silverware. My son, who is 14 months, enjoy the potato and egg taco, which was a special order and he was happy. I truly recommend this place!

I have only eaten breakfast here, but it is really good. Food is prepared when you order it, is made from scratch and they make their own corn tortillas there. It is not the best I have ever had, but it is close. It is worth the drive if you are in the San Antonio area!

I like Vida Mia, but I don’t love it. Not sure why — all my Mexican national friends are crazy about it. Breakfasts are a solid four stars, but the lunches are just average(maybe I have ordered wrong) in my experience and they close too early(breakfast and lunch only). I am going to eat my way through the menu though and will likely update up, once I try more items. Friendly staff though and highly recommended for breakfast. Nothing has wowed me yet though.

Most places need alcohol, crazy light décor, sell Tshirt or music to drown out the fact that the food is meh! Not this place it is AMAZING !!! I miss my grandmothers cooking this was a second close. This is not a bunch of beans and rice with a bunch of cheese Mexican food this is the real deal hollyfield cooking. It’s a small place max seating is 57 but if you can get a table anytime of the day you will be rocked, great cooking. The staff is very good friendly and fast. What counts here is the food and they bring it holding nothing back for your taste buds. I don’t have pics this time to attach cause I ate it fast, Sopes! :)

Saturday morning breakfast, that was the goal. I arrived at Vida Mia with high expectations. And they were met, for the most part. I had the chilaquiles in green salsa with chicken and a barbacoa and chicharon tacos. Everything was very yummy, the chilaquiles had crispy tortilla chips and lots of cheese. The tacos were tasty and a pretty big size. All in all it was a good breakfast and I paid about $ 16. I will come back again.

Amazing food! We went for breakfast on a Sunday and it was delicious! Even though I just got tacos, the beans were not watery and the tortillas are homemade. My bf loved the barbacoa he got and the chorizo as well. I saw other people’s plates, all of which looked amazing. I plan on trying the chilaquiles next time for breakfast. They bring out fideo while you wait for your food(in addition to the chips and fresh salsa) and it was, according to my bf, a reminder of how his grandmother made it. The staff was pleasant, especially the hostess who was so helpful and cheery. I liked the colorful décor inside, it made me feel like I was somewhere authentic even before I tasted the food. We came again the next day(yes, this is how much we loved it) for lunch and I thoroughly enjoyed the mole enchiladas. The bf said he’d had better enchiladas and preferred the breakfast. Overall, amazing place!

When it comes to authentic Mexican Cuisine, this is the real deal. From fresh squeezed lemonade, to an empanada, to the Chilaquiles, and did I mention their salsa? Fantastic! It was all fresh, wonderful, and the only thing lacking was seating space because this restaurant is so popular and doing so well, it may be a short wait for you to be seated at an available table, but our 5 minute wait was worth it! I’m going back for sure.

The breakfast at Vida Mia is very delicious you will not be disappointed. You may have a little wait but it is worth it. The flat corn cake that they give you is delicious with the coffee. I have tried several things for breakfast and they have all been good. The flavor of the green and red sauce on the eggs is heaven and they don’t have the Tex Mex version of huevos rancheros but their version is much better. My husband had the huevos a la Mexicana and they were full of flavor I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast. Will go back later for dinner. Forgot to say that the corn tortillas are homemade and very good!

Stopped here last week for lunch but was immediately drawn to the breakfast items that were still being offered. I ordered the Los divercados(red and green sauce) on two over easy eggs. The food was amazing and I tried both the flour and corn tortillas after I found out they were both homemade. This meal was so amazing and piping hot when it came out and the portions were so generous! I can see coming back for a weekend brunch in my near future.

Great Monterrey breakfast. We go to MTY every month and miss some of the cuisine. I had the Cantinflas Chilaquiles and my wife the Machacado. Both were quite good. The table salsa was watery and had no flavor yet the salsa served with the dish was quit good. The service was good but didn’t want to speak Spanish to the«gringo»… Not a problem, I speak both. This is definitely the breakfast place for Sonterrey(the Monterrey expats in San Antonio). «Where the elite meet to eat. « Went in around 11AM on Friday and the place was packed, with large tables of friends and families getting together to plan their weekend. A bit noisy but very lively and well attended. You may even have to wait a bit for a table. All in all a very good bet for good Mexican food on the North Side.

Tried this place for the very first time today & food was pretty good. Hubby was craving mexican breakfast, so I told him to go on Unilocal & see what was nearby. Vida Mia came up so we decided to try something new. I had the chilaquiles cantinflas with egg & babe had breakfast tacos. His Barbacoa taco was amazing, the chicharron taco was too salty and the fresh flour tortillas were greasy. My plate was good, a little stingy with the chorizo but good flavor. Place is really small, we got seated right by the door and as more people started coming in, it felt like they were on top of us which made it really uncomfortable to eat. I wouldn’t mind giving this place another shot & trying their menudo :)
