Twin Liquors

Was helping some friends move into there new place down the street and needed a quick convenient liquor store, as the 9 o’clock hour was approaching on a Saturday night and this was it. Friendly employees, good deals if you buy two of the same bottles.

Why can there be no customer service on the South Side?
Twin Liquors stores carry my favorite Christmas sparkling wine. I wanted to buy a case last week. Thinking I would patronize the store closest to downtown, I tried calling the TL at McCreless. They didn’t answer the phone so I drove down there. The parking spaces in front of the store were empty. I went in and found one salesman and no other customers. The store had 4 bottles of that wine I wanted, totally inadequate. I asked why they didn’t answer the phone when I’d called a few minutes earlier and he explained it was because they were so busy. Uh huh.
BTW, you will find my glowing review of the TL store at Lincoln Heights who not only answered their phone but had the bottles all gift-​wrapped and ready for pick-​up later in the afternoon. All I had to do was walk in and pay. Wow. For obvious reasons, from now on, I will always drive over to the Alamo Heights Twin Liquors store instead of even trying the closer store at McCreless.
