This was my first time visiting Taco Garage. Many of my friends have told me great things! My friend & I both ordered the drink platter with 6 different ones. It was soooo good! Our food was delicious! The only reason I didn’t give a 5th star was because the service wasn’t the best. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly or attentive. We will definitely be back for the delicious food & drinks though!

So I’m from Denver and I’m out visiting family, my cousin lives at this place, so it was our first stop. Upon our arrival our server was awful, very rude, and he messed up everything the whole time. From drinks to tickets at the end. Thankfully I do look past and loved the food. I had al pastor tacos that were delicious, and my drunk was delicious as well. I loved the outdoor seating and the live music. It was really mellow and not to so bad that we couldn’t hear each other. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m here.

The taco garage was a hit, in my opinion. I had the enchilada plate, and it was delicious. The green sauce enchiladas with chicken were my favorite along with the cheese enchiladas. Margaritas are delicious. I had a mango one, but wish I would have gotten the margarita sampler after seeing it! The ambience is casual. Service wasn’t the absolute best, but the food made up for it! 5 stars:)

Very rude. I called to place a to-go order, and they hung up on me. I would think this might be a fluke, except that this is the second time over a span of 3 months that I call, and the phone rings forever, then someone picks up and slams the phone down to hang up on me. I can take my business to Beto’s. They actually answer the phone there.

I’ve been here a few times and I am really disappointed on their customer service. As soon as you walk in, the hostess is rude. No smile no customer service skills. She sat us in the corner and you can smell dirty mop water. We asked to be moved and waitress had an attitude. We walked out and left. The food is okay but when you have bad customer service from the jump, it makes you dislike the place. If you want bad service for mediocre food, then this is the place.

UPDATE6÷4÷16: up a star for late nite food & service. Stopped in after asy around 11PM — they are open til 12. breakfast tacos available — great tacos at cheap prices! asked about small queso or half order of chips and told both were available just not on menu. small queso was $ 3.99 — really creamy! really good! looked kinda plain, but tasted really good — very flavorful. very tender flour tortillas. My mom & I each had 2 tacos each and sodas with the small queso — around $ 18 with a generous tip. service was AWESOME! very efficient and friendly waitress. we’ll be stopping back by late nite again. Nice atmosphere with casual garage/motorcycle/junk yard décor. probably a good place to meet for drinks and apps Tex Mex style food is a little more Tex than mex. food was good, but nothing I would describe as great. The borracho beans were tasty and I did like the queso — made with blanco cheese and no annoying veggies to get in the way of its creamy yumminess. prices were a little above average: 9.25 for combo #3 — 1 cheese enchilada, 1 beef taco and 1 chicken chalupa. chicken on chalupa was a little bland. $ 8.25 for cheese enchilada plate. Service was adequate. A few general dislikes: chips & salsa for 4 consisted of a ONE tiny bowl of chips and 1 tiny bowl of salsa and we had to ask for refill of chips for queso and no tortillas were offered. and parking is TIGHT at best and a nightmare at worst. We were unfortunate to have a large pickup move cones and park at an angle next to us. Trying to get out took LOTS of maneuvering. So be aware of how you will BACK out when u park or park in the back!

The wife and I had the opportunity to eat at this establishment this evening and it was VERY, VERYGOOD. From reception at door to speedy turnaround of food. I highly recommend this eating establishment if you are looking for a good family or even a get away for two. You even have the choice to eat inside or out. Keep It Up Guys!!!

When the Dent GUY’S are in town we search for the best Tacos in town and this is the place to be! This Garage has lots of character and not your average food chain. I had the crunchy two fish tacos for lunch, the sauce was not my favorite for the chips but I still ate a bowl.

I saw this place @ the light, the cool as shit décor, swear I thought it was abandoned, I simply had to stop cause the name included the word TACO. Ive been back multiple times and it has been perfect EVERY time. Indoors, cutting edge patio, homemade tortillas in the booth, great lil bar, off the wall interior décor and the food and staff are simply PERFECT

Horrible … My husband and I have given this place SO many chances and each time no matter what time of day it is, if it’s busy or slow, it takes forever to even be acknowledged by anyone working there. And yes we do go inside first and ask the hostess to be seated … Today we waited almost 30 minutes and had servers walking right by us and didn’t even say anything. I went inside and asked the hostess that sat us where our server was and her response was, «oh she hasn’t seen y’all yet? «no sorry, nothing. We then waited about 10 more minutes and my husband got so fed up that we ended up just leaving. Sucks that your service is so damn slow all the time and it takes FOREVER to be waited on! I wanted to like this place and we gave y’all SO many chances. Never ever again. Thanks for nothing.

After standing at the front unacknowledged for 5 minutes, I left. It was towards the end of the lunch rush. Yes they were busy, but that’s not an excuse for not having a hostess. If someone would have told me it would be a 5 – 10 minute wait, fine no problem. But to just stand there watching them run around like a chicken with their head cut off. No thank you. I was way to «hangry» for that. I went up the street to Beto’s where I knew I’d get good food and service. Looking at some of the food coming out, it looked pretty basic. I won’t be back.

Went for breakfast. My first time here. So I will see how they do with my favorite breakfast taco, Chorizo con Papas. The tacos were pretty big and filled generously. The papas(potatoes) were perfect, not mushy. The chorizo was unlike any I have had. Most chorizo is very greasy with that orange grease just pouring out. Not these, very ungreasy(is that a word?). Did not have the signature vinegar taste. These were very good, just needed a little sauce. The green salsa offered just enough bite/heat. The tortillas were excellent. This looks like it could be a fun place for evening dining. Will need to come back then and try other dishes.

I liked the old downtown location better than this location as far as the food is concerned. I had the cheese enchiladas. They were just ok. I am not joking when I say I had to add salt to the enchiladas. Never have I done that before. They were bland. The rice would have been good if it were not hard due to being undercooked. The refried beans were ok as well. My waitress was nice, friendly, and attentive. I’m not interested in trying any other food items from here, but I am interested in coming back to try a mixed drink.

Mostly went to try their V6 margarita sampler, which was AWESOME! Only $ 14 too! Anyway, the food was pretty good. It wasn’t amazing or spectacular but it wasn’t bad. The service was great and everything came out fairly quickly. Would definitely go back for the drinks!

One of the best breakfast places in town. The wait staff is awesome and consistent every time. They have added to their patio area and it’s really nice. A chill happy hour spot perfect during patio weather. Highly recommend cucumber margarita !!

This place is a little auto repair shop turned Tex-Mex Mecca. They have good tacos and good drinks at good prices; which is good enough to keep the place hopping around the clock. Four stars for food, two stars for service. Prices are great if you don’t mind waiting a while for your food. My family comes here almost every weekend for lunch because the food is so good: enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, and chalupas are typically a really good option. I’d stay away from the fajitas, not because they are bad, but just because there are much better things on the menu. Breakfast is pretty good. Their eggs are buttery and delicious, pretty wonderful if you’re not too concerned with watching your waistline. Their tortillas(corn and flour) are homemade, and really drive the popularity. I really love how they use country sausage instead of breakfast sausage, I think the sausage and egg taco is better than Bill Miller. Tldr; It’s Taco Garage, order a taco.

Pretty solid option if you’re looking for some Mexican food and margaritas. We took some out of towners to the TG, and it was our first time as well. I knew all about the margarita flights, so of course we had to get one. We thought it was a great place to take our guests for an off the Riverwalk experience. Taco Garage has some interesting aspects to it. I’m not sure if they are catering to the tourist crowd coming out of the airport, but there were some definite tourist-y vibes going on. Either way, it’s a pretty cool place to go just to see the sights. Our server was nice but a little slow. She started us off with one basket of chips for five of us, which we quickly devoured; luckily she brought us more eventually. Salsa was pretty good. We ordered the margarita flight with 12 flavors to share amongst the 5 of us. In theory, a margarita flight sounds amazing, but in practice… the frozen margaritas quickly melted and the flavors were all pretty fake tasting. No fresh fruit margaritas found here. That being said, they were still good, and we were able to all find some favorites in the 12 flavors. Luckily for me, no one else liked the coconutty one… all for me! :) Food was standard, but they DO serve breakfast options all day! Perfect for out of towners as well. I got the huevos divorciados off the breakfast menu, which I thought was pretty great. I’m not hard to please when it comes to Mexican food, however; just put housemade tortillas in front of me and I’m a happy girl. I don’t think anyone else was super impressed with their food, thus the three star review. I’m not saying I wouldn’t go back, because I definitely would. The prices were super reasonable — I think my dish was around $ 7.50 and I still took half of it home. And the marg flights are fun for a group of people. Definitely a fun place to go once in awhile, especially if you have out of town guests and want to stay away from the Riverwalk or want a cheap but good meal.

First of all I do not go handing out one star reviews very easily. They are earned. I take very mindful consideration to all the details & I try to be assiduous about why my experience may have been so dismal and unsatisfactory that it has unfortunately come to t that. It takes quite a bit to make me start dwindling down the star ratio this far south. With that said, I abjured this review with you today. When we arrived we were greeted by a staff member and told it would be just a min, then a manager politely said the same and complimented my son on his glasses. A second or two later our what I thought might have been host came to seat us. As it turned out she was not the host but actually our waitress. We were seated in the room directly to the left at the table right behind the wall in the corridor. The table directly behind it was empty. A little about myself I always prefer a corner table. Ergo, we requested the corner table instead because we would have been more comfortable sitting there. Our waitress said«I can seat you there but then you would be in another section.» Awkward? That is not what I asked. Why bother me with the details, it’s more information than I needed. I should have been firm about it and stuck with my original preferable seating request but I decided to go with it. From here forward or experience continued to decline. Sigh… It took a while to bring us out the beverages. They were never refilled during our meal although she did ask, right before we were about to leave. Why bother? She took our order. We even made it easy by both of us getting the fish tacos, a burger for my son.Simple. The chips and salsa were pretty good. The salsa was flavorful and had smokey undertones and although I appreciate she brought out more chips and salsa for the queso. The queso didn’t come out until the main order. I think she may have left it on the window because it had already formed a skin, it was mild, not much to it but it wasn’t bad. However, when the order came out she only had two plates with her… I grabbed the fish tacos she sat on the side of the table and passed them down to my partner and she sat my sons burger in front of him. He asked for mayo and ketchup and only mayo came. Simple mistake right? Well we cleared it with her three times before she left the table just to make sure we were clear. She seemed totally distracted and unable to focus. ALSO, as it turns out she was thinking we only ordered ONE fish taco plate. Why would you not think that was weird and ask to be sure!!! Not that she should have had to do that because we are always clear on our order at least on our part. There is nothing abstract about the way I put in a order. I try and keep them as uncomplicated as possible because I wouldn’t want confusion. We are always pretty specific and often have are order figured out before ever even arriving to the place, which was also true in this case. Honestly, if she wanted to act efficiently she could have added the main order to our drink order to save herself and us the trouble or the time. We only ordered two waters and a sprite. She had another table behind her wanting to leave and they were also having issues with her service. The tacos were mediocre at best. Bland and not flavorful at all. Same with the beans and rice. All in all I should have gone with my gut and called in the Cove. This was a waste of my time and money on this visit although I have to say that the décor and the music was great this evening here but overall a tragic dining experience. It is a shame, we used to be regulars here and always loved it but the last two or three very spaced out visits totally missed the mark. It all made sense why she was so distracted when her boyfriend or someone expecting her to come outside appeared in the lobby while the girl was checking her phone at a table she was clearing of her tip nearby. Yeah, customers notice that sort of thing I would think there was a phone policy, I mean come on its a Friday night did you think that you would be cruising out of there on the dot? Psssh!
