Great sushi, great service! We had a very amiable server, the wait was reasonable, and the place had great ambience.

Service was great, food was amazing! My girlfriend got the hamachi Kama and loved it. I had the Alamo roll and dragon roll. Both rolls were fresh and tasty. Our server Eric was kind and helpful. Would definitely come back again!

Chirashi is very satistifying. The happy hour have 20% in weekend. Yaki-​udon is very good esp chicken is very tasty. We recommend Love boat.

This place is great! Clean, friendly and the food is delicious! Our kids loved the katsu chicken and my favorite roll was the yumi roll.

So we came here for my birthday and liked it and we came back for the happy hour on Thursday. We ordered Yuri roll which was said on the menu that it is a snow crab roll with avocado with masako and shrimp on top. It turned out pretty bad. The snow crab that they serve is a freaking imitation crab meat which I can buy it in the market for pretty cheap. I asked my waitress and came the manager. His explanation was that it was the mixed of snow crab meat and imitation crab meat. I didn’t see anything but freaking imitation crab meat in the yuri roll. You can see my pictures. Obviously, there was only imitation crab meat which basically is flour with fish smell. Such a cheap shot!!! What a BS. Never again coming back to this awful place. False advertising!!! I told the manager who looks like a kid and he said if I wanted the real snow crab meat, I’d have to pay more for the real thing. So I guess that the one I had was fake crab meat like they put on the menu then.
Btw, while we were sitting there, the lady next to us also experienced the same problem where the food that she ordered was not the one that was served on her plate.
I didn’t wanna put any star at all but Unilocal wouldn’t let me do that.

Excellent rolls, great happy hour! 50% off M-​W until 6. Our go to sushi bar. Carolina is the best server… always attentive, friendly and sweet. Sushi is fresh, beautifully presented. Quiet and clean atmosphere. We love it here!

Kid approved! Our 11 year old loves this place. It was her choice. Yaki-​tori (beef cubes on a stick). Also, Japanese soda. She ordered orange. Quiet dinning. Happy hour is 3pm to 6pm. It’s 20% off almost everything!

The sushi was really good and everything tasted fresh. Happy Hour basically all there sushi is half off and other parts of the menu are 20%off. My only complaint was service was a little slow but not bad. Will definitely be coming back

Awesome as usual at Sushishima. Their M-​W happy hour can’t be beat. We try different rolls every time we’re here and we are never disappointed. Today was crunchy roll, Philadelphia roll, rainbow roll and the rock and roll. All four were delicious. We lived in Japan for years and this place has the quality seafood we are accustomed to. Service is always great. Greeted upon entering restaurant and seated promptly. Wait staff is attentive.

Spacious, plenty of parking, great food and service. We ordered the Phoenix roll, yumi roll, crazy couple, and dragon roll. They were all very delicious and tastes fresh. Would be a returning customer.

This is my go to place for sushi in San Antonio not just because it’s close to the house but because of happy hour. Most rolls are 50% off and drinks too. 4:00 — 6:00 I think, Mon-We’d.
It’s always fresh and yummy and the service is great.

Took my daughter who was just home from TTU.
Was quiet for a Sunday evening.
However, food was… Excellent!
Only problem, we ordered too much! Couldn’t finish.
Rock and Roll, Snow White Roll, Ichiban Roll were fantastic
Also had steak hibachi and shrimp hibachi… which were yummy!
Will definitely be back!

The restaurant looks nice, clean and server was very professional. The Uni over scallops got to be the freshest thing ever and I definitely going to get that again when I come back. My volcano was one of the best roll so I recommend that. My whole meal was great and you would not regret coming here

A group of friends and I went and it was amazing. We rolled out from Philadelphia, took a cruise on the Love Boat, and rolled out California style. The food was most definitely not Yaki. It was soooooo Yumi. The whole group even got Crabs. All in all, it was Dynamite!
In all seriousness, we got the Love Boat. It had plenty of rolls (Yumi and Dynamite roll) and sashimi. We also got the California roll, Yaki Udon, and soft shell crab. Everything was really good. The waiters were attentive and really helpful. We will come back for sure

Delicious artwork. I love this place and the quality customer experience it promotes every time I’ve stopped in. I am a sushi connoisseur and am not easily impressed but this place is a good contender for the best sushi I’ve had on this side of town.

This place seems very authentic, which I appreciate. It’s often I get someone of Latino descent making my sushi so I appreciate it when they are Japanese.
My hubby and I sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chefs are very attentive and polite.
We ordered fatty tuna sashimi, fatty salmon sashimi, salmon sashimi and eel. All of it was very fresh. I loved it.
For the rolls I ordered the Big Easy, philly and the Alamo rolls. The rolls were really good. The Alamo being my favorite. What moved this from being a 4 star to a 3 star was that I deconstructed a roll and took out the fish to eat individually (I was full). The tuna inside the Big Easy roll didn’t Tate fresh on its own.
Otherwise this place would get a 4. I’d come back though.

I really love this place, I’ve sampled the menu from the raw to the hot side and this place never fails me.
My first time here we were looking for a really good sushi place nearby and this place hit the marks from top to bottom.
I’m a fan of this place and I’m often reminded that good sushi and bento does exist in San Antonio.

Pretty delicious! My husband and I are not sushi eaters, so that was not the reason for our visit. We were really hoping to find some good hibachi near home. We found it, but it was unlike any other that we have experienced.
First, the restaurant is beautiful. While I would opt for a change in somethings, it was definitely classy. This may be an odd statement, but something I ALWAYS take note on. Sushishima doesn’t skimp, including in the restroom. Don’t judge, but I was seriously impressed with their level of soft and strong toilet paper. It matters and I appreciate!
Next, the service level was very good. Our waiter was fast and attentive and we felt welcome among what seemed to be only sushi eaters.
Finally, our food was beautifully presented. Although it was only a $ 10 lunch special, it was presented as a much more expensive meal. And delicious! I appreciate the beautiful, tiny veggies in the fried rice, it gave the rice beautiful color and a deeper level of flavor. My chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. Our only gripe? My husbands steak was a bit chewy and our veggies could have been cooked a little longer. But overall a very solid, affordable, and beautiful meal. We will definitely be returning!
