Sadly, an awful experience. The food was tolerable, but tasted like frozen. Service was horribly slow-had to beg for water to be refilled, etc. Another table got up and left before their meals were served-yes, it was that slow. I wish we had the courage to have done that! Really wishing this was better, but not trying it again.

The Food is great. We had read the reviews and even went in and tried the food which is outstanding so I met with the manager Mazi to set up dinner for 110 people. Our event is a by invitation only each member is checked in and then checked off of the list at the end of the night when we received the bill we were charged for an extra 12 people. We showed the list that had been verified by three of our staff members with no avail. After about 30 minutes of discussion we decided to pay the bill rather than continue to argue because we did not want to have a debate in front of our guests. The evening up until that point was wonderful the service was outstanding however being overcharged for 12 people did not leave a very good taste in our mouth’s. We attempted to rectify the discrepancy however he said that his staff could not have made a mistake. I am writing the review in hopes that agreement can be made. I would hope that the restaurant and it’s owners would value the reviews of it’s patrons

We went here for a birthday dinner for my niece so we were a large party of about 30 people. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive and nothing to complain about the staff. However the food is another thing. If tasteless, rubbery, no-other-flavor-but-garlic is your taste then that’s what you get here. The fried calamari was ok. Nothing special. The bruschetta was good as well except for the large slices of garlic. Everything we ordered seemed to have these slices of garlic. I ordered the scallops which tasted frozen and over done. They were rubbery and no flavor other than garlic. My husband ordered the veal which also tasted like it had been frozen and no flavor other than the garlic My daughter ordered some shrimp pasta dish that again the shrimp had no flavor and had that same rubbery feel. The thing is it’s not a cheap place to eat at and if I’m going to pay $ 25 and up in a dish I expect it to have flavor other than just garlic. And I expect the seafood to not taste like it was frozen. If I wanted tasteless Italian food I would go to a chain.

Great service. Very friendly and knowledgeable servers. I was sick when I had lunch here and Diego, one of the servers, recommended the Italian Wedding Soup. He did not steer me wrong! The cup portion was plenty. The soup was very, very flavorful. Just what the doctor ordered! And accompanied by their bread – uuuufffff! I was in heaven!

Wonderful atmosphere, food and service. Great happy hour specials! Our group all had great meals. The fellow playing guitar was very good, but it was s bit too loud. Noise level made conversations challenging.

This place is soo good. I usually go during lunch and there is not much of a crowd. Everything on the menu is so fresh and the meals are really authentic. Having been to Italy recently, I come here for a taste of what Italy is. The bruschetta is to seriously die for. The service is bar none, I love when the waiters wipe the crumbs off my table with the stick :) I’ve organized work luncheons here as well and they were on top of it! Not one issue. Go for lunch, you will not be disappointed!

Went during lunch with a coworker and the smell was horrendous we had to walk out. Don’t think we’ll risk trying it out again.

The food wasn’t spectacular but it was ok. I would eat there again. I had the chef’s special ravioli, in my mind dishes should have more pasta than sauce, the ravioli’s were slim and the sauce heavy. I had the wrapped pancetta for an appetizer as well, it was very good and the veggies extremely fresh. The lighting was extremely dark, I considered using my phone light to see my food a little clearer.

This place is off the charts good! If you’re looking for a great environment, amazing service, and ridiculously delicious Italian food, you have to come here! The stuffed eggplant is delightful and filled with scallops, onions, peppers, and saffron. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu.

«Italian ain’t easy folks!» Ok that’s my personal quote but you can feel free to use it. A good friend of mine, Brandon to be exact, frequents this house of Italian cuisine– so I decided to give it a tastebud test. Scuzzi’s is located on the 1604 West access road between Huebner & Bitters. I live by Sea World which means I have about a 25 min excursion to dine here– and it better be good. If you’re wondering why I’m speaking in the present tense, it’s because I’ve decided to start my review as soon as my gluts settled into my seat at the bar which has(4) 55″ flat TVs. It’s a Monday night @ 8:30 and it’s fairly empty. So if you’re looking for a more quiet time to visit this spot, Monday’s at 8pm is your slot of choice. As an appetizer I ordered the Brushetta(tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil, Balsamic vinegar on crostini) which was $ 9. It came out in about 7 – 10, not too bad on timing. For my taste, the crostini had the right amount of crunch– not too hard, not too soggy. The tomatoes were fresh and the basil managed to find itself drowned out by the olive oil & garlic. The Bruschetta appetizer came with 4 pieces. Check my photo I posted. My entrée of choice was the Chicken Lasagna. It arrived about 25 minutes after order time which didn’t bother me considering I had 2 friends to converse w/during the interim. To my surprise the portion of lasagna was perfectly rectangular in shape and it held its form even as my fork sliced through its layers. This is the first time an Italian restaurant served me lasagna that wasn’t an blob pile of pasta and meat sauce. All form aside, I wasn’t impressed with the chicken lasagna. It didn’t taste fresh. It tasted as though it was pre-cooked, refrigerated, re-heated in the oven and served. The spinach didn’t have the kick that fresh spinach usually provides. The meat sauce tasted flat. The chicken lasagna while not detestable, it was definitely a let down. On a parting note, I will return and try their spaghetti. My buddy ordered the spaghetti and shared a meatball with me and it was DELICIOUS! So, while I don’t recommend the chicken lasagna, I do recommend the meatballs. I have a gut feeling that the entrees are more fresh during the earlier part day. It’s sad to admit but we all know it’s common practice for some restaurants to refrigerate, re-heat and serve some of their entrees to maximize profits. Saving a buck is a priority for many restaurants in this price range. Visit early and try your luck. Good service, good Bruschetta, disappointing Chicken Lasagna.

The food was delicious. The services was great! And they have drink specials everyday. We came in today and they had half price bottle of wine. Come for a nice relaxed lunch or a date night dinner. Both are pretty for this place

This place made me angry. We had a party(with reservations) of 7 adults and 8 children, including 2 infants. At the very beginning of the meal, we said specifically that we would like the meal to move along at as quick a pace as possible. So began our 2.5 hour descent into madness. Each and every course came individually — so if someone had a salad included with his meal, that came separately from the appetizers. I’m sorry, but you can’t make me believe that the kids’ meals were not ready before the entrees. The worst offense, though, had to do with the wine. Not only did they not bring the bottle that my husband ordered, but they brought a different bottle and insisted it was the one we ordered.(We triple checked. It was not. The wine we requested and the one the waiter brought were separately listed.) To add insult to injury, the wine they brought is one that we know to be sold at Whole Foods Markets in Chicago for $ 6. They were charging $ 50. I hope I never have to go back here again.

Linguine carbonara was so good! We have noticed that the Caesar salad has gotten much smaller and it is very crowded. Wait seems long even with a reservation. May be time to look elsewhere.

I have to say, service was PHENOMENAL. We were seated after waiting for less than the estimated time. They waiters are well trained to keep water glasses full and the table crumb-less at all times. Food also arrived on time despite it being packed for Easter weekend. The food: price ratio was not phenomenal. You get 4 pieces of bruschetta for $ 9. The thin bread pieces were not even halfway topped(see photo)! The calamari portion was also about half of what you can get at other Italian restaurants. The flat bread was chewy and didn’t have that nice charring you see on grilled bread. I could also tell that the parmesan they offered was a couple days old in the air and was rubbery. I had the eggplant parmesan, a thin longitudinal slice, which tasted fine, but cost $ 15 and was half bread crumbs. My mom’s ravioli presented itself as a soup. This place is trying to go for that ‘steakhouse’ exclusive feel. If they give you what you pay for, then they have the right to high brow it up. I won’t be coming back because the food really just didn’t deliver.

Had the Chicken Gorgonzola with a side of pasta. Came with two chicken breast stacked, resting in between was mushrooms, spinach, and Gorgonzola. Drizzled with a garlic cream sauce made it incredible. Also have a nice selection of wines.

Scuzzi’s! We were so lucky to find this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service wonderful(thanks Matthew) and the guitar made it seem like a movie. We shared a few items, chicken parmigiana, shrimp Scuzzi(wish I had not shared!!!) calamari, Scuzzi salad, fresh bread. Need I say more?! My only complaint is that it isn’t located in KC where I live. Good job!

Have been to place a few times over the year. The happy hour margaritas and wine specials attract a few groups. They also have bottomless mamosas and bloody marys. The atmosphere and nice and classy. Service is where it can be a hit and miss. Sometimes it is great and other times slow. Came here for with a group for multiple birthdays. They were on point with orders. Most ordered the shrimp scuzzi and were happy with their choice. I ordered the chicken gargonzola and it was yummy too. Came with ea side of pasta or I could’ve ordered vegetables. Overall a great experience.
