Good neighborhood bar! «Patio» for smokers is a bit lacking. Inside, its cool. Decent jukebox. Good crowd, good staff. Parking is not a problem.

This place is a great little gem for karaōke! I’ve been here twice with my meet up group and have had a great time. The DJ is very fair and works a rotation so that everyone has a chance to sing, and he doesn’t favor the regulars. It’s full bar and a premium well drink will run you about 4.75 in a good sized glass. The staff is laid back and there are pool tables if you don’t want to sing. All in all its a great place to just chill and sing your heart out to a very supportive audience!

I went on a Saturday and Maggie Mae was bartending. She’s the tall one. Anyways she was really rude. She was so rude I didn’t even wanna stay there to cap out the min. Debit charge for the tab. It was also very… idk country. I wasn’t feeling it at at. The only person that didn’t look me and my gf with a mean mug was Javier. He’s the usual karaōke guy. He’s really sweet and very fun to talk to. Hire him for any events. You wont regret it ;).

A solid place to get a relaxed, cheap drink and play some casual pool and darts. Karaōke is pretty funny and can be surreal when the bar happens to be nearly empty. The outdoors back area is an unusually private secret.

I love the pressure cooker. It has cheap beer(though the selection is limited) and prolly cheap drinks(never ordered any). It has a large television in the front which is good for watching Spurs games – though they need to do something about the sound because, last time I was there, I couldn’t hear anything. But I suppose you don’t really need to listen to watch the game. I tend to disagree with folks on here. I guess I have a different definition of what constitutes dive bars and this doesn’t meet that criteria. It’s far from upscale don’t get me wrong. Homey is how I’d describe it. The bartenders are friendly. They have darts and a few old pool tables. A juke box that gets ridiculously loud if you’re trying to have a conversation. I took a date here and we had a good time. One of the bartenders even offered us a free drink because she poured an extra. How awesome is that?! It’s a bit hidden, but it’s right off Fredericksburg right after Medical. If you’re from SA you shouldn’t have a problem finding it but my date was not familiar with the area and got sorta lost because it’s not really well marked. I’ve been away from SA for awhile but they used to have karaōke nights on Thursdays(I think), and those are always fun times.

It’s not an authentic dive bar(I adore dive bars I miss dive bars there should be more dive bars less fern bars, I say) but it feels like a dive bar with the moody lighting and the sparse clientele. The Pressure Cooker gets five stars because I drank the best vodka gimlet on the planet here last summer. I also enjoyed singing karaōke. My fumbled attempt at my favorite Talking Heads song got me a compliment and a high five from a complete stranger.

This is a classic dive bar. It has been around for years and I must say, it is much improved since the smoking ban. They do have a smoking section out back for that guy in your group that hasn’t given them up, yet. The drinks are reasonable and not watery. The staff is friendly and competent. Overall, a decent place to get your drink on if you live in that area.

Part two of three of our Sunday-funday experience brought us to the Pressure cooker. It had the dive bar feel and the bartender was quick and friendly. What kept me from giving a better rating was the drinks were not as cheap as you would expect when walking in. Other than that the Pressure cooker seems like a nice alternative if you decide to hit up dive bars.

One of my favorite dive bars in San Antonio, each time I’m in town I do my best to make a pit stop. Drinks are very reasonable and the bar tender is extremely attentive and makes sure you never go without a drink.

Have mixed feelings about this place. It’s homey and divey, which I like. I wanted to love it based on that. On the weekend everyone is pretty noisy and wasted. Not a difficult feat, as drinks are super cheap. There’s a few TV’s, darts, etc that attract the sportsbar dudes with their girlfriends. The after work crowd is quieter. People were chatting with the bartenders like old friends, so it seems there’s a lot of regulars that just come to sit and drink. My usual, Jameson on the rocks, was less than $ 4 during happy hour; the cheapest I’ve ever had it. My friend and I were a little put off by being forced to close out our tabs at shift change. We had not met the $ 10 minimum so the guy gave us dollars back to make up the difference. Our cards were kept at the register though, and when we left not much later we completely forgot to get them back. We returned a few hours later and the girl working claimed not to have them and seemed really annoyed when we insisted to actually see the credit cards in her hand — she had both of them. So due to its convenient location for me personally, I’ll probably go back. If it was further than ¼ mile, I probably wouldn’t.
