Babios Night Club

After months of my friend telling me about this place we finally to see what it was all about. I never looked it up or read the reviews, I was only going off the word of my friend whose husband DJs there on Friday nights and occasionally Saturdays. I don’t know why, but I was expecting it to be dark and divey. Needless to say my expectations were shattered!
The front door opened to a foyer type area that had seating and a sophisticated atmosphere with quiet music playing. When you opened the door to your left, however, everything changed. The DJ was blowing it up in there. I remember being surprised at everything being white; white walls, white seating. My friend, being the lucky DJ wife, was sitting up in the VIP area, where there were these beautiful antique looking white couches.
The bar was not jammed packed, i.e. standing room only, but that is not necessarily a bad thing for me. All the seating was taken so there was a decent crowd. We arrived in time to see the drag show, with a perfect view from the VIP area. It was epic. The headliner, I think her name was Chrissy Waters, had just won a pageant a few hours prior and was still sporting her gorgeous crown. I was in awe all night at how athletic and practiced they all were.
I would definitely recommend Babios to anyone who is looking for a cute new bar to try out. The bartender was very friendly, the prices were reasonable, and I really enjoyed the music. Can’t wait to go back!

Finally a gay bar that dosent have 9 drag queens doing coke in the same stall for hours. To top it off they have actual drinks not just cheap off brand «kola» and «lime-​up» like some bars. They have actual drink drinks with actual fruit and jucie to make some amazing cocktails. Awesome decore reminiscence of a European discothèque

Came here with some friends on a friday night for the show. The bartenders were super friendly and the music was good. Someone else said the bathroom was dirty but when I was there it was spotless.
I will go back :) Love the décor inside and the show was fun!

This place is awesome, I had been wanting to go in for awhile, but never had anyone to stop in with me. My friend who was visiting from Austin joined me and both of us were in awe. Coolest bar I think I’ve EVER been to and it just happens to be very close to my house. It reminds me of some of the bars I’ve visited in LA or San Francisco. Very «posh» like. The outside porch area is quiet. I want whoever designed this bar to come decorate my house.
This will definitely be a regular spot for me.

Michael is the best bartender ever, this place is cute and nice. Everyone here is so welcoming… Go to the bar and ask for queen Beyoncé aka Michael.

This is a great bar thats not well known. We know the owner back when he owned the spanish bar back in the days. the staff is super friendly. its always quick service, maybe because there’s never too many people. just a good crowd.
great music, great entertainment. drag shows are good. prices are good too. my favorite is the layout and the décor. really well thought of. This is probably my favorite gay bar in san antonio.

THAT Club has an amazing decorator, it was packed during SAN ANTONIO PRIDE WEEKEND, they have male strippers and the best shows on Friday nights, the Drag queens are super friendly, great performers and there is never cover charge there and always lots of free parking right in front of the club!

So I have been here before it opened, since its opened and late night. Its such an interesting place and the owners are super nice. The drinks are affordable as hell and it just screams of potential. The design is very Mexico city dance club in the best way, the patio is cute as hell and the location is very central. It is gay friendly bar that serves good food too! I recommend it readily

This place definetely has potential! Great dance floor, and a large patio, clean and comfortable. DJ CC spins some great tunes.

I passed this club one day on my way home one night and decided to visit it on a Thursday night to grab a drink. I went with a couple of friends and to be honest, we were expecting to see a run down, sleazy, small, crampy place. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! The inside is decorated with modern chic furniture, TV screens surround the place, there is ample room for a conversation area with sofas, a dance floor and a stage at the far end. There are two patios, one in front and one in back, they both offer enough room to meet with a large group of friends. The bar was almost empty on that Thursday night, so we decided to come back again on Saturday night. On Saturday night there was a larger crowd which consisted of a few female impersonators, with an equal combination of lesbians and gays. The drinks are decent with a nice happy hour, our mixed drinks were $ 3.00 each. They offer a small selection of food but we did not try it, perhaps another night. I will definitely be making this place a must stop on my next bar hopping night out with the guys.

Since the grand opening of Babios we have become regulars. WE LOVE IT HERE! Super friendly/​knowledgeable staff and bartenders, very clean, nice contemporary décor, GREAT music. Lots of places to sit including awesome couches and chairs. Great patio. The staff make it very welcoming here. Its a refreshing change from the dirty, smelly bars along Main Street.
