My Wife and I went to Lorenzo’s for the fist time on 02/14/2016 as a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. I wasn’t sure what to expect as we had never been inside but the reviews and pictures on Unilocal were promising. We had made reservation a week in advance and once we arrived we were seated immediately. Our server’s name was Walter I believe(a short older man who was pretty new to Lorenzo’s) and he gave us the menu and said that Lorenzo’s is having a special for Valentine’s Day. He recommended wonderful dinners and offered delightful wine choices. I had the Lasagna and my Wife had the Eggplant Parmigiana. They were both delicious. We had a sweet red wine that was chilled and we shared our desserts of Tiramisu(incredible!) and Chocolate Pie. I can say that the seating is a little cramped because there are so many tables but we felt that made the experience all the more intimate especially for an Italian restaurant. We did notice that the maitre’d was giving Walter a hard time and for a 60 year old man we felt he was the best server we ever had. The owner should give him a raise. Everything was amazing here and everyone should check out Lorenzo’s because I was told they are closing soon because a fast food chain that will go unmentioned is scheduled to be placed here. What a shame.

I gave these guys the Blue Plate Award from WOAI. Amazing people. I’m extremely disgusted that nasty Whataburger is replacing the area. They are a family-owned business and I had egg-nog for the first time. It was awesome. And their hot cocoa is nothing I’ve ever had.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this restaurant. My husband and I had received a gift certificate for Christmas to Lorenzo’s. We went in with a group of 5, 4 adults and a kid, and wound up only paying $ 48. The food was great! I had the baked ziti and it was just the right size. It wasn’t too much food like most places give you, but it also wasn’t small enough for you to still be hungry. The only downside for me about the food was that there was too much meat in the sauce. The size of the place was kind of small so I don’t recommend taking a large group. The service there was great! And the waiter was extremely helpful when it came to the menu and such. I definitely recommend this place for a date night!

Family, this place reflects that feeling. We were treated very well, friendly, attentive and with much care for our needs. The food is excellent, and at the end of our meal we were given a shot of egg nogg, their own recipe and that was delicious plus we got to keep the Christmas mugs from our order of chocolate. Highly recommend this place, and it’s a cozy and an inviting environment.

The service are excellent and attentive the staff knows their wine and menu. The food came out hot and freshly cooked to order. The prices are well worth the great tastes. The lasagna was to die for and so was the chicken Marcella, even the garlic butter bread was hot and fresh.

Great meal, good service, reasonable price. Sausage Brasciole(one of the specials) was great. House salad dressing was wonderful. Highly recommend, even if interior is not stylish or new.

Food and atmosphere are always great here and when you are lucky enough to go in when Rick is in the kitchen you will be overwhelmed with flavor and substance. I can never give enough praise to their Fra Diavlo. It’s both hot and tasty. If you are looking for great Italian, look no further.

Excellent lasagna, chicken parmigiano, and garlic bread! Mario is a lot of fun. The salad only consists of iceberg lettuce a few olives a couple slices of onion and a slice of tomato. Salad is the only complaint. I would definitely recommend this place.

Small, hole in the wall kind of place. Food was really good including our dessert. Went there during their busy time and service was not up to par until the time of getting our check was close by; it’s amazing how that works! Might go again during a slow time… And actually our waiter(he actually looked like the manager) was the only one that was treating people in that manner. You know, bringing a basket of bread quickly to your table… Nice, right?! Until he almost takes your nose out with it because he’s not paying attention. Or ask you a question and before you answer his question he’s off doing something else for a different table.

Everything was just a bit underwhelming, not to mention my chicken parm was all burnt. The bread and water kept flowing and the server was pretty nice albeit he seemed distracted, but the table they seated us at(near the entrance) was just way too inconvenient with people going in and out every 10 seconds(not their fault, I know) and the blasts of bright sunlight hitting me right in the eyes. Not to mention every time the door swung open I could see this poor homeless man just sitting there in the parking lot staring into the restaurant meanwhile we’re chowing down on some grub. We would have asked to move tables, but the place is so tiny that we would probably have had a hard time to find another. The pasta was OK, sauce was alright but nothing special, and the few bites of my friends pizza that I had were just very mediocre. The salad had some limpy little pieces of lettuce and an olive and maybe one tomato with a splash of dressing, very uneventful. I would probably try out another locally-owned Italian joint before coming back to this place. There’s nothing unique or newsworthy on the menu here, just most of the typical stand-by’s you would come to expect on an Americanized Italian restaurant menu.

This is a great little Italian restaurant. Small but homey. Reminded me of being in my Grandma’s house :) The young lady that took care of me was very friendly and quick to help. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and it was very yummy! Even the garlic bread was flavorful, wasn’t toasted too much or too soggy from the garlic butter used. The prices were reasonable, the service was spot on. Though the place is small and I’m sure gets packed during busy times of the day. I’d say it’s worth it and a testament of the great service and food I was given for my first visit. This little restaurant is the definition of a Mom and Pop shop. And when I need my pasta fix, I will be coming back. Either to stay and enjoy the atmosphere or order to-go. Check it out! It’s worth the time and money :)

Lengthy but it all happend. My co-worker went here for lunch on a whim because we both wanted Italian food. We both really love Italian and were excited to try this place. It’s a cozy restaurant, and seemed like it was a good choice. We ordered our drinks and that’s when it all went downhill. Service/Cleanliness: I ordered a diet coke and was given a glass of ice and a soda can, I start pouring in my drink and realize there is some kind of moist sticky food stuck the inside rim of the cup. I asked the waitress for another glass and she looked perplexed and explained very discreetly there was something in my glass. She was very nice and gave me another and explained to me it must have been the desert they serve, as if this should now changes everything and is not that big of a deal. I just smiled and said it’s ok. Well from then on all the staff including cooks watched us like hawks. It really wasn’t a big deal. She even gave me a diet coke when I was getting low on the first one. Very nice service. When my co-worker went to use the parmesan shaker she tells me very quietly that it is wet for some reason. So I just grabbed the one on the table next to us and that shaker was wet as well. We didn’t say a word to the waitress, we didn’t want to be those kind of customers. But she was watching us and must have heard her and comes over and starts saying they were wet because they are kept in the fridge overnight and since they are a small restaurant keep them with the drinks and deserts. Again I didn’t understand that reasoning as I was thinking so do other or larger restaurants keep their parmesan shakers in another cold storage device that doesn’t cause this condensation. I just smiled as I was embarrassed at the whole situation. I would also like to say that someone also sent their salad back and I have no idea why, I just heard the waitress asking for a replacement and no specifications as to wanting anything different done to it. The moment was priceless for my co-worker and me as we were chomping on our salads and upon hearing that we just kind of look at each other, locking eyes and then looking at our salad wondering why that salad was sent back. Quality of Food: The garlic bread was adequate as far as bread, but as we started eating, my co-worker looks at me and goes, «These are hot dog buns, but just lathered in butter and some garlic.» I thought she was kidding and turn mine over and guess what, they were freaking hot dog buns. The salad was just drenched in the restaurant’s Italian dressing. We both would get lettuce on our forks and kind of shake it off before eating it. When all the lettuce was gone there was just a ton of dressing left in the bowl. We both ordered the special Chicken Lorenzo which was basically Chicken Marsala. The chicken was good and it also came with spaghetti and red sauce. The sauce was definitely not homemade, easily could have been Ragu or something. I don’t think you have to wonder if I would recommend this restaurant.

I don’t like to eat Italian food at a restaurant because my family is from Italy, but agreed to pick up food here for my boyfriend. The menu seemed pretty typical, pastas mostly. I feel like their prices are a bit high, but the portions are fairly big. I definitely could have split my order with someone. I ordered pasta with clams, boyfriend had ravioli with meatballs. I wasn’t excited about mine… it lacked flavor. Plenty of clams, but bland. My boyfriend felt the same about his sauce. I ordered a side of sauteed shrooms(obviously), and they were good. I didn’t save my leftovers or eat the garlic bread. The pasta was cooked well. Ordered to go, therefore I can’t speak for the dine in service. Very friendly, packed the order in a wine box, which is pretty cool. The containers were filled and leaky, so each was wrapped in plastic. It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall, dim lighting. Overall, met my expectations and was okay.

It really is an impressive sight to behold to watch just 3 people run the floor of a restaurant during the lunch rush. But that’s how they roll at Lorenzo’s! Located in an unassuming strip mall, Lorenzo’s is no frills, simple, hearty, and filling Italian food. Granted, the garlic bread was a little too crispy for my taste(maybe that batch was just overdone), but my pizza was very good. Anyone who’s ever eaten pizza with me knows I always order the same toppings(if available): fresh tomatoes, jalapeños, and garlic. Garlic was not listed on the menu as a topping option(it usually isn’t), but they accommodated my request. My pizza came out covered in toppings. Just how I like it. I ate half and took the rest of it to go. Back to the service. It really was interesting to watch the 3 staff run the front of the restaurant. And it was full at lunch time. And they didn’t miss a beat! Additionally, all 3 were really friendly(even when I saw some people be pretty rude and inconsiderate towards them). If you’re looking for simple Italian food, without the bullshit that comes along with a big chain, this place is for you. I’m glad I found it. If I’m ever working nearby, I’ll return.

A small, local italian place that is family-run and in the medical center? Guilt-free convenience! And considering italian food already comes with heaps of carbs, I need as little guilt as possible. BF and I have lived near this place for ages, but only seem to get the urge to go on Sundays, when(like ChikFilA) they’re closed! He has gone in before without me and says their pastas are top notch– especially the spaghetti and meatballs. Finally had a chance to give them a try myself yesterday during lunch– as others have said, pricing for their lunch specials cannot be beat. Think $ 7 – 9 for a protein and pasta, plus salad and bread. Pretty legit, huh? Except we’re on a health kick, so we went for the salads– not gonna lie, three dishes on their menu caught my eye and 2⁄3 of them included chicken and gorgonzola(there’s the entrée and the salad). So I had the chicken gorgonzola salad while BF had the italian chef salad– both were HUGE! Like, we’re talking falling-off-the-plate huge. And the ingredients were all fresh: crunchy lettuce, plentiful cheese, fresh olives, hot and well-seasoned chicken strips… it was ALL good, for BOTH salads. Which is definitely a good thing in light of the fact that their salads aren’t part of the lunch specials– they’re $ 8 – 10, which for me is a lot to pay for a mound of produce, but the quality of ingredients and the plentiful amount of both veggies and chicken and cheese, more than justifies the cost. We’ll definitely be going back for the salads again, and also to try the tortellini in basil cream sauce!
