Just straight up, mom n’ pop Tex-​Mex. The Chapas know what’s up. Do yourself a favor and enjoy some Tex-​Mex comfort food in a nice, clean, and friendly spot.

My fiancé and I have been coming to this restaurant since we were 15. The Chapas’ do an amazing job of providing superior service every single time we visit, which is about once or twice every 2 weeks. If you have not had the fresh lemonade, you have not lived. Mrs. Chapa makes it the absolute best in my opinion. The grilled chicken plate is very good, always juicy and the corn tortillas taste homemade. My fiancé usually sticks to bean and cheese tacos, or enchiladas, which are fantastic as well. The only thing I do not like so much are the prices, but I can deal. If you stop by make sure to get a FRESH lemonade and a grilled plate! You won’t be disappointed!

The grill foods and specials are great. We’ve been going since they opened, only one dish I didn’t like (just because of my tastes) and they wouldn’t let us pay for it. Owners of the old Kelly Island run it and do a great job. Excellent value at this price point.

Went by yesterday on a fluke– just hungry and in the area. Surprised that at 11:30 am I was only the second table. Lots of space and probably 25 tables, by the time I left the place was half full. A quiet and sleepy atmosphere but relaxing and a good place to meet with a group. Salsa was good (both hot and cold was served), and the Pecan Chicken was cooked perfectly and the Charo beans were tasty. If you don’t pay attention you can pass right by the place, so put your phone down and look for the Grill, you wont be disappointed.
