We needed to grab something quick since we were on a time crunch and dropped by here for lunch. We ordered two waters and vege calzone to share. The guy behind the counter was very nice. We bit into it and it was so salty. The olives were salty, hardly had any fresh vege. We ate it since we were hungry but it was probably the worse pizza/calzone we ever had.

I was surprised when I open the box and saw the twisted pizza, it was upside down like it had been tossed after it was put one the box. This is the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Don’t order from here unless you like your pizza over easy! Doesn’t deserve a star but it won’t let me post unless I give it one, to me this place deserves –5

Fast, friendly, delicious. Perfect place for a quick bite while I wait for the line at the parking garage to die down. Great find.

Literally a down to earth, hole in the wall. The place is small, above Riverwalk and next to Ben&Jerry’s, but if you walk too fast you’ll miss it. The owner is the baker, which guarantees you a darn good tasting experience. Any pie is delicious but be aware, seating is limited, they don’t offer pizza-by-the-slice and the Arrabiata sauce on The Alamo is «burning.» Enjoy a coke or a beer while you’re there.

We had planned to eat a great pizza here, but when we arrived at 8:30pm they were closed! Sign on the door said they ran out of dough. Either it was really good pizza or poor planning… too bad.

What a disappointment! We ordered a veggie pizza and picked the veggies from the list on the menu. Hearts of palm? Don’t have any. Red peppers? Sorry… Then I’ll have the red onions. We have had any for over a year. Be aware that there is only minimal counter-seating.

Hidden gem on the Riverwalk. They have limited selections, and a build your own selection, but when you have a good dish… you don’t need as many options. My hubby and I tried The Alamo and it was SOOO good! :) Warning that it’ spicy so don’t go crazy adding additional spices. My only gripe is that they don’t have outdoor seating. You can sit outside, but the seats/tables belong to Swig. So, I just ordered drinks from Swig to be able to sit outside and eat some pizza. Regardless, I’ll be back! Yum!

This establishment was very cozy and had very hearty pizza, it was some of the best pizzas me and my brother can both agree on, the wait is about 5 – 10 min. And we both recommend getting the Alamo pizza, it was very well priced, filling, and the manager was very kind and friendly,

First night in San Antonio and was craving some pizza. Came on by to panzanella, reviews spoke well about the restaurant, and ordered the Texan. Was very tasty, highly recommend giving it a try. The blend of flavors is really really delicious. The vibe was great, really friendly employees. Two Thumbs up! Was so enjoyable had to take one back to the hotel.

Pizza was delicious! Perfect for nursing a hangover, LOL. Got the Tower of Cheese, perfect for 2 people to share. Staff was very nice. There isn’t much seating. Most of the time, the weather is nice enough to be outside… it was just chilly the night we were there(New Year’s Eve).

While everyone else in our party ordered the Longhorn(bacon and pepperoni), I had the Fiesta, which comes with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, and mushrooms on top. When I received it, there was steam coming out of the vent tabs, always a good sign. The pizza looked delicious, and tasted as good as it looked. There was plenty of cheese and a generous portion of toppings. An underrated aspect of pizza making is adding just the right amount of sauce, enough to make its presence felt but not to much to allow all the cheese and toppings to slide off with the first bite. He nailed it. The rest of our group had no complaints and seemed to thoroughly enjoy their pizzas. We had a bit of trouble finding the place, but after seeing the back, we realized that we walked right by the open rear door on our way. Silly us. Service was good and the food was worth the wait. I’m certainly happy that we made it here, and as long as the weather holds, this is one of the best places on the Riverwalk with one of the best views from the patio. I’ll be back if I am in the area again.

Awesome pizza with a light crust cooked perfectly. We had the Longhorn and all ingredients complimented each other. Walked up and ordered to go. Ten minutes or so later I had a hot pizza, plates, and napkins. We should have gotten two! It was a refreshing change from our usual pizza fare. I want one in my home town!

This place was one of the best finds on the River Walk! Try The Alamo pizza! The pizza is spicy and sweet in a Michelle Tanner sort of way. Pizza is delicious. It got a pregnant wife’s thumbs up!

Cool little joint. Man tossing fresh dough right I front of you. Got the Texan. It’s very good. Jams playing in the back ground. Night life of the city right outside the door. Definitely will be back since it’s open till 2am.

Me: Hi, I was just calling to see if you do delivery? Employee: Yeah to Downtown. Me: Does that include down by the Blue Star(a 7 minute drive from their location…)? Employee: oh HELLNO! Downtown is a SPECIFIC area of downtown. He procedes to YELL at me about what constitutes Downtown and how they won’t be delivering Pizza out there. Me: Okay… I was just asking. Employee:(Hangs up on me) I would have been happy to just drive by and pick up the pizza had the person on the phone not berated me for asking a simple, honest question.

I can’t believe this little spot has been under my nose this whole year and I have yet to devour my late night cravings while out and about in the downtown area! Such a sneaky little jewel yet I’m glad I was about to find Panzanella as if I was Harry Potter who caught the Golden Snitch. They offer such unique pizza creations and really take pride of their topping combinations. Featuring local names such as The Alamo it’s a great way to show your Alamo City pride! Can’t find a pizza that speaks to you? They have a build your own option including some speciality sauces and meats. One sweet deal of this spot is his they deliver in the downtown area!

Cowabunga! Rad ‘Za, Brah! Open late! This place is hidden right off the River Walk by Howl at the Moon, and isn’t visible from the street. They offer custom made pizzas fresh on the spot. They deliver too! They offer a range of pizzas that you’d find at any normal pizza shop. They have creative San Antonio names on them– the Alamo, Davy Crockett. When you order the pizza, they hand toss the dough in front of you, piling it up with toppings, and tossing it in the conveyor belt oven. It’s done in about 10 minutes. My favorite thing is that you can draw on the walls when you get impatient waiting for your ‘za! Taking too long? Write them a note on the wall to let ‘em know! However, the pizza was rather soggy and greasy. It had tons of cheese on it, which is a good thing, but needed a thicker crust to accommodate. I was impressed that they provided fresh grated chunks of Parmesan cheese, instead of those dry packets of the powdery cheese. It’s a great option for late night dining on the River Walk. Out of your other options of what’s open around here late and cheap, this is the best!
