The staff at this location sucks. All young kids who stand around. I ordered a side of ranch(that I had to pay for) and requested extra butter, both of which were printed on my receipt. When my food was brought I let the girl know I was missing my ranch. her reply«well you have to pay for it.» Thats fine, but I ALREADYHAD. Thats no way to speak to a customer. She should have went back and asked the girl who took my order what i had bought and corrected it. If the staff paid more attention to their guests than their cellphones and coversations then maybe my review would be a bit higher. Food is great, staff is horrible.

Every time I come to eat here they’re so behind and it’s such a mess. They take forever on getting the orders out

We eat here regularly and the food is consistent and good. Some staff are so friendly they even remember my boyfriend and me by our names and what we eat! Lots of space and very clean!

I stopped by last Friday to order several meals that I needed to pick up at 1030 this Tuesday for an early business lunch with a very important visitor. I was assured everything would be ready; however, when I arrived on Tuesday my order wasn’t ready. The employee that took my order was working, remembered me, and knew the order… she just didn’t make the order or ensure it was ready. No one presented a sense of urgency to get the meals ready. I received my order 20 minutes later with no apologies or offer of restitution. Needless to say I will seek other arrangements next time.

Lunch was extremely busy. What made it worse was that it seemed several workers were standing around while others were working furiously. I watched one specifically try to do busy work(wipe the same counter spot) until a girl made it to the front of the line and then he would call out to serve her. I waited in line long enough that I had to change it to a to go order before being able to place my order. There just wouldn’t have been enough time to eat there. I got a salad to go, and it tasted good. If you want to eat here during lunch have a good block of time, call in ahead, or get it to go.

So as we walk in as always the line is long but moves very quickly for a busy lunch rush. As the cashier read our order back to us his register froze up. Apparently it was a store issue because all registers went down. The manager stated it would possibly be 15−20min wait and since we had time we decided to wait. He was very polite and noticed we decide to wait while most of the crowd complained and walked out. We waited for about 10mins when Ramon said he would take our ordered(old fashion pen and paper). Due to the registers being down he gave us a complementary lunch. As soon as the he brought our food the system came back up. Moral of the story, technology may fail some times which in most cases is no ones fault but good customer service and a polite manager(Ramon) explaining the situation and a pleasant attitude from the customer goes a long way.

Ok… this is the second time they’ve messed up my veggie spud order online. where are the tomatoes? It very clearly states on my receipt… add tomatoes… also ordered a side of mayo for a sandwich and that was missing too… be sure to check your order carefully if you pick up a to-go order. Also service is very slow… plan an extra 5 to 10 min to your lunch break if you go here.

Came in for lunch today, and had me a Southwestern Cobb salad. The food was great and the place was very clean. The sweet tea was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely come back. Great Job Guys

Mmm Mmm good! While visiting my nephew my niece suggested we stop here for lunch. I’m sooooo glad we did. This deli is definitely a gem! It’s like Panera Bread’s big brother. The food choices are more mature & the variety of choices are great. You can order pasta, salads, sandwiches, soups or potatoes. If you’re unable to pick one(like me) you can choose two. I had the Reuben & the oh so cheesy broccoli & cheddar soup. It was REALLY good. My daughter had the chicken ceasar wrap & she loved it. So you’re probably wondering why only 4 stars if everything was so good. Well let me explain. My reuben was listed as a hot sandwich but it was not hot. The meat was barely even warm. Although it was good I really wanted a hot sandwich. The sweet tea that they are known for, wasn’t that great. It kind of reminded me of McDonald’s sweet tea. Nothing spectacular. On top of the food being good, the service here is amazing! I don’t know if it’s because the people in the south are just nicer than my northerners BUT everyone here was very pleasant and genuine. Next time I’m in San Antonio I will definitely be coming back here!

You just cannot go wrong here. Food is fresh. Tastes great. Love the call in system where they know your past order! It’s always packed unless you go at 1030am when they open.

Was at the McAlister’s off NW Military and 1604. It was really good! I had the half sandwich with the half salad. My sandwich was the McAlister’s Club and I just realized they forgot my bacon. Anyhow it tasted fresh and was a good size half sandwich. My salad was the Italian Chopped Salad. It was very tasty and had a lot of good stuff on it. The people that work there are very nice and helpful!

I remember when I used to work by Bandera and 410 a few years ago, McAlister’s used to cater lunch to us. The sandwiches were good but what stood out for me the best were their sweet tea and their gargantuan sized cookies. Fast forward to now and I’m glad to see that not much has changed. I hadn’t intended on coming here to McAlister’s at all and planned to eat at Jersey Mike’s instead. But had I not made such a dumb move by getting off at the wrong bus stop then I wouldn’t have cared about the existence of this particular location. I ordered a half muffaletta combo minus cheese with a salad and sweet tea. I asked the lady at the front counter if the half muffaletta was enough for one person. By the time it arrived to my table though I felt cheated and noticed it was a quarter muffaletta sandwich. I’ve had a muffaletta at Jason’s Deli before and I already know firsthand the difference between a quarter, half and an entire muffaletta is. Now the muffaletta wasn’t totally bad however it was nowhere as good as Jason’s Deli. The salad was made the way I liked it and came with the dressing on the side as I had requested and it included some crackers. The sweet tea did not disappoint and neither did the monster sized and flat chocolate chip cookie. The service could’ve been a bit more quicker since there was a family in front and it took a while for someone to call me up to the front.

My boyfriend and I enjoy coming to McAlister’s deli. In our opinion it’s a little pricey for a sandwich/soup kind of place but the service is excellent and the food is always good. My boyfriend likes the King Club sandwich and the new Chicken Bacon Jalapeño pasta. I like the Club wrap, tomato soup, and chicken and dumpling soup. We both also really like their iced tea. If you sign up for their e-club they send you a $ 5 off coupon for your birthday and you’ll get emails about special promotions(like free tea day!).

I had lunch today and tried the shrimp po boy and strawberry lemonade. I was surprised by the freshness of the shrimp. The sauce and slaw complemented each other very well. The baguette bread was crisp on the outside and soft inside. I will be coming back to get another shrimp po boy!

Make that I havent had a bad experience until today. I guess they forgot I ordered and paid for my food because other people were ordering and getting their food before I did. A gentleman who passed for management asked me my name because I had been waiting. After he went to the window my food came out about 5 minutes later. You cant forget about people who’ve ordered and paid for their food.

Because this location is so close to Lackland Air Force Base, it gets extremely crowded at lunch time. You will almost certainly have to stand in a line that reaches all the way to the front door. But it’s also crowded for a reason: the food is consistently good. The menu is varied enough that you’re bound to find something you like.

Wanted to try something different for a quick lunch. Order the pick two which consisted of a chicken and dumplings soup and a half a club sandwich. Overall food was good. Soup could of been warmer. Interior was clean, bathroom was not very clean, employee that took our order was much more interested in talking with another employee then doing her job. Unilocal Star Rating 5 stars: I loved it. Will be back and bring others to try it. 4 stars: I liked it. Will be back and suggest others to give it a try. 3 stars: It was good. Will be back but there was something that wasn’t just right. 2 stars: It was okay. Would return if others wanted to but won’t drive far. 1 star: Will not be returning.

This McAlister’s location is definitely one of the best that I’ve been to. The first time I came it was evening and I was one of maybe two customers, and my wrap wasn’t as good as it usually is, but I gave them a few more chances. It seems to get extremely busy here for lunch, any day, so it seems they definitely bring their A game during this time. I like the menu selection in general. They always have a variety of soups available, even a veggie chili offered daily. Sandwiches always come with a side, ranging from mac and cheese to fruit(plus a pickle!). My go-to was their chicken Caesar wrap, I really love their wheat wrap and they do the chicken Caesar how I like it, no tomatoes or croutons shoved in there. I also like their veggie sandwich, and I throw that on a wrap as well. I’ve never tried the baked potatoes, but the combos look tasty. Originally I got hooked on their sweet tea, add extra lemon. I’m not a sweet tea lover, and they don’t overdo the sweet here. This is a perfect drink during a miserably hot summer day. The price for the quality is decent. It’s a deli style spot, so don’t come expecting anything else, but the presentation of the food here is great. I think the service here is really good, too, but it gets messy at times because of the amount of business, and I guess some people think it’s acceptable for their children to throw food on the floor. I don’t fault the staff for it, it is a bummer when you attract slobs though. Keep up the good work, McAlister’s!

4-star for McAlister’s in general. I normally get the Big Nasty(cuz I love gravy), but I decided to venture out and try a new sandwich, the California Turkey Reuben(Butterball™ smoked turkey, coleslaw, Swiss and Thousand Island dressing on toasted rye.). Coleslaw in my sandwich? Realized I am not a fan of that. I didn’t taste the Thousand Island dressing at all — -which was part of the reason why I ordered the sandwich. I love their broccoli cheese soup, as usual. McAlister’s is one of my fav. sandwich spots… not my fav… but one of my fav… cuz I love soup & sandwiches! :-)
