I mean seriously, where is our waitress? Barely anyone here and at least 3 waitresses on but we’ve been sitting here for 30 mins waiting to get to go boxes, order pie and checkout. Finally just went up to the hostess. Food isn’t horrible but won’t be coming back.

This is overall 3 stars to me, but the pies alone — in combination with the staff — would be 5 stars. The restaurant has a warm, friendly staff serving good food from a diverse menu of home-cooking favorites, Texas/California street food, pub food, and salads. The food has rich flavor, although I felt this visit that the flavors weren’t as balanced as I found them to be years ago. The pies, though, remain as outstanding as always, and are definitely a reason to stop by even if you’re not getting a meal! There are 20 or so flavors, and all the ones I’ve tried have been perfect — even ones I don’t normally enjoy. I will continue to miss Marie Callendar’s pies when I’m on the East Coast and keep them as a regular requirement whenever I’m nearby one of the restaurants.

Horrible. As we’re walking in we see trash around the entrance, then we walk in and there’s a moldy musty smell, floors are dirty and there was no one there to seat us. We finally get a table and my husband ordered a ham omelet. Well apparently it’s extra for a ham omelet, she leaves before asking him if he wants toast or pancakes, which she did with me also. We get our coffee and course no spoons. When the food comes everything wad luke warm, my Smasher was warm on the bottom but the gravy was cold, the sausage in it was grey which obviously meant it was old. Pancakes which we didn’t even want was barely warm. Never again, their frozen meals in the grocery store are better than this restaurant.

Food is less than average. Management must have been born during the Great Depression as they know how to save a buck. For example, the shrimp on the shrimp tacos are medium which they cut in half to make it appear like you are actually receiving more shrimp. I gave it 3 stars as the servers are friendly and prompt and the pie is good. Children’s meals are awesome. Kids eat free on Saturday AND they receive a cookie the size of an adults head.

One thing I want to say is that the customer service was great. My drink was always full and everything was brought to our table in a timely manner. Our waiter was very polite. The food was also delicious. I had the chicken pot pie with a garden salad. The pot pie was cooked perfectly and the veggies inside were not overcooked. The crust was sooooo good. The salad was delicious and everything tasted fresh. My mom had the baja fish tacos and they were tasty as well. Of course we had some pie. Coconut cream :) I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Great food and if you arrive early enough you’ll have the whole place to yourself. The breakfast roll is great and the pies are awesome.

Tonight is the last time I’ll dine at this Marie Calendars Restaurant. Service was slow even though dining area was sparsely occupied. Had to wait an extended time just to be seated. In addition our waiter, while polite, would disappear into the kitchen and would not return in a timely manner. One of the reasons we came to Marie Calendars was to have their Strawberry Pie which they were out of. Asked for lemonade and was brought water with extra lemons because they were out of Lemonade.(Lemon water was the solution I guess). Asked for a salad but never received even though the waiter acknowledged he forgot it and would bring it. Part of my dinner was a pie and that was given to me in a foam container(as if it were a to-go order). Our waiter’s only answer to the poor service was«the electricity went out and erased everything». I suppose if that were the case he could have asked us to repeat our order so that he could remember. This is unacceptable and appalling– Poor Standards = No Business!

Try too hard for to achieve that home-cooked style meal aesthetic, but the food is bland and boring.

Been meaning to eat here ever since the one by my house closed. Ordered the chimis, pot roast and grilled cheese with bacon. Food was nice and tasty, staff were attentive and nice, place was clean. My only angst was the price… definitely way over priced. My pot roast plate was $ 16.99!!! I just don’t remember them being this expensive. Oh well, next time we’ll just come for dessert.

A Bit Too Expensive For THE Quality of food that they serve. Can get better quality food much cheaper some where else. Pies are not that great.

I had the pot pie trio — excellent! Hubby had the shrimp plate & said it was quite tasty. Took pie pie to go — I know it will be great! This place is as good as ever. I WILLBEBACK!

Went here on the night of 1⁄16. Place we were going had a huge wait so we went here bc I didn’t want to wait an hour to get into Nicha’s. Never been here but always heard they had good good and good pies. Place was dead, but it was late, around 8:30 so I figured that was why.(They close at either 10 or 11 so I wasn’t closing time yet) The girl who seated us was nice but not really professional, not in a bad way just like she was a friend and not representing a business, no big deal on her part and if chalk it up to poor training. Hour waiter’s name was«Thomas» according to our credit card slip, but he didn’t have a name tag or tell us his name so I’m assuming this. Most unprofessional waiter I’ve ever seen! He brought out good and drinks no problem, food quality looked like it was warmed up from earlier, southern fries fish looked like it was from the frozen good department and was literally thrown onto the plate with some fries. No doubt in my mind they were all on the frier in one single batch. He was very fast talking and moving, not in an efficient way but in an I’m in a hurry or on meth way, not kidding. When we were done with our plate he just walked up and set down the check and took our plates, not a word. I didn’t even open it, just said we’d like desert, he said okay what do we want, we had some questions so he brought the menu back out. We aren’t regulars to hard order without a menu. We ordered And the pie came out quickly and was indeed good, no complaints there. But he then again walked up and just set down the check, i didn’t open it just handed him my card, I was mostly content so all good. When he came back he didn’t even give us the actually itemized receipt, just the credit card portion with the total. I do this fairly often just giving the card and have never not gotten the receipt. It was just over $ 60, which is a little more than I thought it was going to be but no big deal, I was thinking $ 50, just makes you wonder when you have no receipt to really tell. I am completely let down with this experience but have a feeling it’s the location /management and not the brand, but I’ll never go to this location again. If the bill was $ 35-$ 40 I wouldn’t have much room to complain but $ 60 was way overpriced for the experience we received. I’ve been to tons of restaurants, cheap and expensive, and the experience is good you don’t usually walk out wondering about the price. Sorry so long but I was really let down here.

We are here for Thanksgiving because our kids are elsewhere for the holiday. This place used to be the place to go for a home cooked meal. This location needs an update. Everything is outdated and old. It’s covered in dust. Let’s first start with us at the bar where we were going to order a beer. The bartender advised us not to drink the beer because the draft system was nasty. They still had Sam Adams Summer Ale. It’s already winter. Something says their lines aren’t serviced in a long time. This place wasn’t even that busy for Thanksgiving yet we were not treated to anything that the menu offered. No cornbread and the server dropped the check before we could get our dessert. After we pointed this out we were given 2 pieces of apple pie. No silverware and no whipped cream. It’s a pretty sad place. I see it closing and no one missing it one bit.

–Pie Review Only– Although Marie Callender’s smells like an old mop upon entering, you’re able to forget the horrid smell and go right to town in the pie department! They closed the Walzem location which was a bummer but I don’t mind taking a drive to order a slice of happiness. The crust is phenomenal and the fillings are just right. If you bring back your pie tin, you get a discount on your next pie. I wouldn’t order a water to go along with your pie, every time I order one it tastes like old dishwater. Here are pies you can’t go wrong with: –Warm peach pie($ 4.29) –Blueberry pie($ 4.49) –Pecan pie($ 4.99) –Coconut cream pie($ 4.79) Why the five star rating if it looks and smells like Leatherface’s house? The pies. When I was getting my undergrad, I was president of the Math Society(laugh and I’ll deck ya) and of course Pi day is such a big deal for math nerds and should be celebrated like SA’s Fiesta. I called up Marie Callender’s(this location) back in the day and they were OVERLY generous and donated 20+ pies to my event, total score! My event was a huge hit but you know everyone just came for the Marie Callender’s pie and not my glowing presentation over the fascinating numerical value of pi.

The silverware was very dirty, we took others off other tables and everything was still dirty. The food was ok and the desert was good.

$ 5.99 breakfast, yes please. The pancakes were stellar but the eggs a little runny. Pam was our waitress and she was quite talkative and personable. I enjoyed my meal here, especially for that price.

If you love pie, there’s no better place to get it. As a general rule, whenever there’s an office celebration, someone goes and gets a pie(or two!) for dessert from Marie Callendars. Over the past year, we’ve probably tried nearly every flavor and everyone seems to have their favorite: mine are the chocolate and lemon, though during some holidays there is a lemon pie cake that is available, and it’s easily the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. In addition to the lemon pie filling and whipped topping, there’s also a layer of a sweet cream cheese filling, and the sweet offsets the tart of the lemon so well that it’s like magic. We usually call in our order and pick up, and they’re always ready even right before or right after work hours. I’ve also had breakfast at this location, at someone else’s request, and the food was not noteworthy and service was subpar. Personally I will be just sticking to their pies.

I haven’t been to Marie Callender’s for a meal in a really long time. I go for the pie, and that’s about it. Pie. Double cream blueberry. Dutch apple. Noms. The service is always, always terrible though. I don’t know how they survive based on the quality of the service. Waiters disappear for a long time. It takes forever to get the food, and even longer to get the check.

Used to like this, but lately the quality has gone way down. My wife got the soup and salad bar and found no bowls but one and it was dirty. Soups were hot and delicious, though. I was going to get the Chicken Pot Pie which is great but I ordered the turkey dinner. Very disappointed. The turkey was barely warm, gravy was at room temperature but broccoli and mashed potatoes were hot. Dressing was at room temperature. For a $ 12 plate that food should be hot and consistent. Seems that no one is taking care of quality control. I sent it back. Got soup and salad but not very happy. Not going back. By th way, the young man in black shirt filling salad bar needs to stop putting his entire hand in salad item bowls when picking them up. Was not wearing any gloves. Placed soup bowls onto surface with fingers INSIDE bowl where your food will have contact to his germs. That’s all.
