This is the second time we’ve been here and not sure there will be a third. The service is horrible. I don’t blame the bartenders or servers — I blame the management. Both times we have gone for happy hour and there is only 1(one!) bartender for the ENTIRE bar.(This bar is pretty large) The servers were actually getting their drinks out quicker to their tables because the poor bartender could not step away from the wheel to get those of us sitting at the bar a drink. At one point we waited 20 minutes with completely dry glasses. The people to our left and the people to our right were also empty. We were just going to give up and leave but we couldn’t even get her attention to get our check! Very frustrating, particularly because there was a non-uniformed individual standing behind the bar looking at his computer, so he clearly was aware of the situation(or did he even notice?) Anyway — the place is cool, the food is good, beer is a great selection, but if you can’t get someone to bring it to you, it doesn’t matter how good or big the selection. Thought about going to the 1604 location but I think we’ll just stick with the HH places we know will value our business. Sorry Little Woodrows! We tried!

I’m upping my review from 2 stars now to 3 stars because the service has gotten better for sure.

This is the only Little Woodrows that I’ve been to, and I wouldn’t consider myself a bar hopper by any means, but I think this place is definitely worth going to on a Thursday night. The turtle races are awesome. I almost always win a least one free beer, and it’s usually something good. The prices are decent. I’ve gotten some great local beers on special. The one major drawback I’ve noticed is that sometimes they don’t have enough bartenders. The atmosphere is great, the music selection is solid, and there’s a nice mixed crowd. If you want to go have a few beers somewhere near the medical area, this is a good option.

Giving 2 stars only because of the turtle race experience. We were curious on the turtle races and thought we would try this place one more time. Well first we were told all Texas beers were on special for $ 4 but she forgot to mention Lonestar’s were only $ 2.75 !! Turtle race experience was cool and the highlight of the night. We left after the second race and went to go eat and then we talked about the night and looked at the receipt and noticed they charged us for several drinks that we did not order. We went back spoke to the manager Abe explained the extra charges and he corrected the error after 20 min. He reported there was another customer with same last name. So lesson learned is take the time to look at your receipt thoroughly so you don’t get added extra charges. If I were to come again it would only be on a Thursday and would pay cash.

No service what so ever. ambiance is pretty nice. But if you want to order drinks or rent the karaōke rooms, you’re out of luck.

Great service! Great drinks! There are a bunch of games to play outdoors as well as indoors. There is also a karaōke room :)

I don’t know if they were understaffed on a Weds but there was only 1 waitress and I guy who brought the bar food so service was sub par. The bartender was so rude, a person in our party asked for a certain drink and he acted like she was an idiot and that drink didn’t exist because he’d never heard of it. We asked about ordering food and he got snippy and said that’s not my job get your waitress. has he not heard of customer service. Once the food finally got here it looked like they just heated up the pre made burgers, nothing I couldn’t get at any other burger place. Our waitress was so busy flirting with the guys we had to hunt her down. Really disappointing. Doubt I’ll go back.

They bouncer checking IDs at the door is rude and the service sucks. We went to watch the Cowboys game and after waiting for 20 minutes for service we ended up leaving.

Great sports bar, plays good music, tons of screens to help you keep up with all the games on, plus they have corn hole, outdoor seating, what else do you want in a sports bar? Service was a little slow at first, but eventually our server was checking in on us constantly and making sure that we were well fed and watered. They were out of several beers, but eventually found one that I liked! Wings were tasty.

Hit or miss. That’s really what it comes down to when I think about Little Woodrow’s. I have heard so many great things about them from friends that live in other cities. And honestly, I can’t help but agree on a few main points: food, beer, and atmosphere. However, it feels like service is really hit or miss. Service, is probably what I look for when I go to a new place. Went in for my birthday in the early afternoon. I ended up getting the Southwest Burger(side note: has anyone noticed how everyone has a Southwest burger on their menu and it always has guac or pico?). My friend ordered the Chicken & Waffles. My burger was good. Bun was fresh, meat was juicy, the guac was meh, and the jalapenos were overpowring. Now, my friend’s Chicken & Waffles on the other hand were out of this word BIG and yummy. Definitely enough for two people! The second time I came in, I ordered the nachos during happy hour. Not knowing they were a.) on special or b.) freaking HUGE! We also ordered a few beers to wet our whistles. The beer selection is what I would call a craft beer starter kit. They have a lot of familiar domestics and some local and national craft brews. Nothing rare or special you wouldn’t find at a true blue craft beer joint. The bartender knew little to nothing about the beers on tap, so don’t come here hoping for some brew knowledge. The service, which is where they really fell short for me. The first time we sat at the bar, during the day. So the bartender was attentive, but once the place started to get busier she let us slip out of her rotation. We ended up going outside to the patio and really could have walked out on the tab because she didn’t even notice we were gone. The second time was probably the worst. We had a dedicated waitress, as we were sitting at a table, but she struggled with getting everyone’s order and delivering on time. My nachos were cold by the time they had come to me. It took us longer to get the check than it did for us to each the nachos. I will say that Little Woodrow’s has the sports bar down to a t. They have plenty of large screen TVs on a variety of different sports channels. They have private karaōke rooms that you can rent by the hour, darts, corn hole, big ass jenga, pool, and turtle races. I will be coming back on a Thursday to experience the infamous turtle races! TL;DR: Good food, huge portions, beginner craft beer selection, and room for service improvement.

I really wasn’t a huge fan of this place or it’s environment. I thought the staff was rude and not attentive whatsoever. It’ll be a while before I come back.

Went for a going away party. Huge place great for large groups. They have karaōke rooms so you can embarrass yourself with just your group. They gave away beer samples of a new beer. Fun environment but our waitress was super busy making it hard to get her attention. They have a beer list«game» kind of like flying saucer but more common beers. If invited here by friends I would go but not go out of my way or choose this place on my own.

Absolutely loved this place! The atmostphere was amazing, our waitress was friendly, she got a little frazzled right before we left, but it ended up working out, so no harm, no foul. The prices were fair, for how strong the drinks were, and size. The only reason i wont give them 5 stars is because, we originally went for the karaōke booths, we were told it qould only be about an hour and half wait, but after about 2 hours we were then told that the booths were reserved for the entire night. But otherwise, we was a fun night. :)

I went to Little Woodrow’s yesterday for Turtle Races. There are locations in Austin, however I had never been before. The location in San Antonio off of Babcock Road was pretty busy — not sure if it was for the turtle races that happen every Thursday, or if it is usually like that. Turtle racing was so much fun! It was completely free to participate in and the races began at 9pm. Prior to the races beginning, individuals were allowed to choose one turtle card to «bet» on(really no one is betting anything, it is purely for fun and prizes). About 4 races happened every hour or so and goodies like koozies were thrown out during the races. From word of mouth, friends have told me that prizes are usually koozies, t-shirts, beer tabs, or a free beer. Yesterday, the prize for winning the turtle races(best 1 or 2 turtles out of 4 races were the winners) was 1 free Stella Artois beer per winning card. The only reason that I give 4⁄5 stars is because they were so busy that our waitress was not that attentive. There were times where our party was looking around for our waitress and she was nowhere in sight. Also, despite there being a rewards card in which one can get stamps for drinking beers on tap, an individual can only get 2 stamps per visit.

We came here hoping to play darts. Unfortunately, we forgot our darts, but not to worry, there’s usually house darts, right? Nope. They had two darts. Not two sets. Two darts(yes you play with three) and one group was using them. And they actually left with them. There’s only two pool tables so we waited a while for one to open. Bar service was also very slow and it was really that busy inside. On the plus side, they had multiple corn hole games, inside and out, a nice patio, lounge area and fun arcade games. And drink prices were very reasonable!

Little Woodrow’s is actually a pretty chill bar to go to. Thursday night’s they have turtle racing! You go and pick your favorite turtle and they will hand you a card. If your turtle wins, you get a free beer! As for late night snacks, I’d recommend getting the funnel cake and soft pretzel. The funnel cake comes with some jam while the pretzel comes in two and has honey mustard and queso dip. Overall nice place to hang out. I would definitely be willing to check it out again.

TURTLERACING! And also.. many comfy couches, MANY TVs, pinball(Playboy pinball, ick, but still. .)/skeeball/various arcade games, pool tables, steel-tip dart boards, cornhole on the huge patio(TVs out there too — simultaneous playing games and watching games.. cool!), private karaōke rooms, better-than-your-average-sportsbar beer selection, pretty great burgers, and a freaking cookie sheet full of nachos.. winning! The placed was slammed when I walked in(A&M game on all eleventyseven thousand TVs), but my waitress Sam was awesome, despite the problems she seemed to be having with getting the correct drink within a decent amount of time from the bar staff. Not a beer drinker by nature, Sam said she actually gives herself beer homework and puts in effort to try everything available on the menu — I totally dig that! Her effort shows, and she had some great drink suggestions/chat… rock on! Minor negatives. . *The atmosphere/décor are focused a tad too much on the Bro crowd — tone down the tits, mmmkay? Girls like sports and beer and barroom games too, but not necessarily being in a forest of boobies. *Nachos are available with black beans only — those’re OK, I guess, but I’d prefer pintos or refried instead, and they just aren’t available as a substitution. *Service at the bar itself blows — slow, gruff, just generally unpleasant. It’s absolutely better to grab a spot on a couch or the on the risers watching turtle racing and get yourself a waitress. (Rating subject to change once I get my promised visit to their turtle habitat.. crossing my fingers that those little guys are housed in chelonian mansions, and not a shanty town!)

If you just want a drink and want to order it at the bar… this is your place. If you want to actually eat; don’t bother.
