Food is always great and service is friendly and professional. GREAT value for the price. I ordered the asada taco plate and it was excellent. Highly recommend the salsa verde here — it has a great flavor and the slightest bit of heat.

Manager very rude and service beyond poor! I do not recommend the Leon Springs location.

Bad service last Sunday night. The server screamed at the customers. He should not be in the service business. Food is generally ok. Churros are very delicious.

This location used to be great. For the passed year and a half, it SUCKS. I have been wanting to write a review for a while as to how horrible service is and tonight was the last straw. My one year old daughter almost choked on a WIREBREADTIE that was in her bean and cheese taco. There is no excuse for that. There is also no excuse for crappy service, slow, and always having to go back through the drive-thru because it never fails that they forgot something. This place needs training. Bad bad bad

Drive through was backed up! Went inside and ordered bacon and egg, chorizo and egg and country sausage and egg tacos. The tortillas were so good and soft. I had to look for the country sausage. Waitress was nice. Coffee was good. Nice place. Cute bar.

Service is horrible, food is mediocre the la k of attention to a customer isn’t a good thing to do. Playing on your phones while I’m trying to get your attention, reason your a waitress is to wait on your customer.

I stopped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago, with a friend and found that the food was very tasty, superbly done, and I noted, served very fast. That same friend and I stopped back in for the breakfast hour a few days later, and again everything was excellent, with the same fast and friendly service. I will recommend this Las Palapas to everyone, being the only location that I have eaten at. But I look forward to trying the other stores as well.

Just ok and expensive. Second time I have eaten here in the last month and each time something important to me is left out of my order. First time, they left out hot sauce. Might not be important to some but this makes my meal especially when meat is not seasoned well. Their brown hot sauce is probably the best I have ever had. I even asked twice and was assured it was there:( Tried again today. Ordered a Las Palapas Special + tea = 11.00. Plate consists of 2 cheese enchiladas and a beef fajita taco. Hubby and I planned to share except the beef fajita taco consisted on 5 small chucks of meat thrown on top of my enchiladas and no tortillas. Guess this was not really a fajita taco with no tortillas huh?. 11.00 is a lot of money to pay for two small cheese enchiladas and a few chunks of meat and a tea, which at best is mediocre. Service in the drive through however was great. Cashier was very pleasant and took my order quickly. I contrast this place with El Jalisco that we frequent quite often but has a further drive. Plate has 2 enchiladas, rice, beans, guacamole, grilled fajita and onions and a crispy beef taco. Amazing plate, super flavor and is $ 9.00. Easily split by 2 folks or more. I also get tortillas so I can make 2 tacos out of the meat.

This is the only place I’ve ever been to where the food just looks exactly like the picture! Not only is it beautiful, but it’s delicious. I’ll admit that it’s not the most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had, but for Tex-Mex, it literally couldn’t get any better than this. We’ve been coming to the Leon Springs location for many years and we’ve never once had a bad experience, the customer service is top of the line. We’ve been to other Las Palapas locations, but none of them are like the Leon Springs location. Coming here, you know will get be getting great food in a comfortable atmosphere with great customer service. I would highly recommend it.

Best Mexican chain restaurant in San Antonio. The food at Las Palapas is consistently very good to excellent, regardless of location. Staff are always friendly and personable; this sets them apart from most eateries in town! Wide menu selection should please everyone except those who have ADHD, would likely be a bit overwhelmed or bored. There is no «best» item here, as everything we’ve had has been a hit. Margaritas are very good, but don’t stand out compared to the competition. Prices are excellent. Make sure to ask for your military discount before you get the bill. OVERALL: DELICIOSO. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

I don’t normally come here but when I do I always go through the drive-thru and for some reason they always take forever! The food is decent and the staff friendly.

Roasted and green hot salsa are great. The salsa isn’t as watered down as other places. Ask for homemade corn tortillas with your breakfast taco and you won’t be disappointed. The coffee is pretty good there too.

The burrito was big which is always good but I didn’t think it tasted as good as other mexican places that would be similar in price.

I’ve never had such a bad experience at a Las Palapas until dinner at this on last night. I should have expected something after walking in and the manager looking at us like he didn’t want us there or was surprised we showed up. Now I know it was a look of surprise. To start off, the chips we a thick masa that were not fresh. When I asked our server for fresh ones she said, «I’m sorry. We don’t make them fresh. Their delivered. We had a lot of people complain.» The red salsa tasted like marinara sauce. The darker, brown salsa tasted like bad salt. Odd to say the least. It was an extremely long wait for our food, beef enchilada plate, two breakfast tacos, fajita nachos, and kid’s chicken nuggets. I had the enchiladas, and wished I’d gone to Taco Bell or Taco Cabana. Then it was an extra long wait to get our check. Our server was polite, but I think she avoided us for fear of complaints about the food. Well. We tried some place new but not unfamiliar. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. This was a total loss. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Good food with generous portions. The service is usually fast. As a result, it can be crowded and a little bit noisy. All in all, quite a good value. The tacos are good, likewise the macho burrito. Enchiladas are not bad.

I ordered a Beef Fajita Burrito topped with queso and the burrito didn’t look all that appealing from the start. It looked(and tasted) like the queso was not heated enough so it had begun to clump and become dry. To give you an idea of how hard and dry it was, trying to dig my fork into the burrito, it broken the fork in half. Upon taking a few bites, I noticed the beef fajita was not cut properly — there were HUGE chunks of fajita in there were as in the past(at the Alamo Ranch location at least) these have been smaller pieces of fajita meat. Overall, I ended up throwing a good portion of this out and I hate wasting food. They have a pretty extensive menu, to the point where it actually creates an issue: they do not advertise their entire menu on the menu that’s in the to-go line so I happened to ask about Sopapillas, for example, because I know they used to carry them and it turns out they still do they just don’t advertise them. It would also be helpful to have two menu boards in the drive thru, like most restaurants do, so if it’s your first time there, you can glance at the menu and get an idea of what you’re looking for while the car in front of you orders. I hadn’t been in a while and it happened to pickup as soon as I got there so I felt pressured and a bit rushed to pick something because the line was really stacking. –2 grades of both of these issues. The older lady that was working the drive thru lane was nice and gave me extra salsa which I appreciated. She did, however, forget to give me utensils. The prices are not bad, but for the quality of food that I received today I am shocked and appalled that these guys are still in business. There definitely needs to be some sort of better quality control around food temperatures and it’s not like it’s stuff that’s underneath the surface — looking at the queso I could tell it wasn’t going to taste good and sure enough it was as bad as it looked.

I am not good with places that smell like old grease that has gone off so you can imagine how I felt to have that meet me as soon as we opened the door. It was late on a Sunday and we needed quick food so we gave it a go, but sat out on the patio. Food was mediocre — mine was average, my friend scored his at a 2⁄10. Margarita was good. Service was good. I couldn’t understand why so many people were giving this place such good reviews but then a friend pointed out that it is really for blue collar working men and that they probably look for something different. It is certainly packed when I drive buy at lunchtimes with trucks etc … So perhaps this was just not the place for me. The fact that it is packed may be an indication that it serves a very good purpose for those who like this kind of food. I am giving it a 3 rather than a 2 based on that fact.

I’m writing this review on a fast food scale. The enchiladas: soggy, uncooked tortillas and not-really-the-finest-cut of chicken is an upset stomach. The salsa almost looked as though it was dyed red(or maybe ketchup???), perhaps to cover it’s age. The only redeeming factors were the bonus flour tortillas(still a bit undercooked in some areas) and beans and rice, which I hope are things you get right if your business is tex mex. The presentation: It’s take out but they still find it appropriate to fill the platter to the edge with useless sauce and cheese, ensuring for spillage on the drive. TBH, just go to Taco Cabana, or even Taco Bell. You can throw a rock in any direction within San Antonio and get better tex mex.

The ingredients are very fresh and good exceeded my expectations. The view was beautiful. The queso and salsa were phenomenal!!! The corn tortillas were fresh and thick; I highly recommend them! The beef was cooked to perfection. The service was nothing special but got the job done. This not what I would expect from a Mexican restaurant with a drivethru!
