This is a nice store. I like to come for fleece to make fleece-tie blankets for Animal Care Services. The fleece is always 30% off. You can also always find coupons as well as good sales. The store is well kept and the service is good.

Irate over the Hobby Lobby ruling from SCOTUS last year, I marched into my nearest Hobby Lobby intent on arranging wooden letters in such a manner as to announce my disgust with those clientele. Ah, that’s a giant load of horse manure! I actually agreed with the decision but that’s neither here nor there — now on with the show/review! The first time I went in Hobby Lobby I was expecting to see model trains, RC airplanes, those cool rockets that young boys build with the different sized rocket engines — so imagine my surprise when I entered this place and saw home décor, bric-à-brac, and all manner of knitting supplies! I half expected Rod Serling to step out smoking a cigarette! All kidding aside, I WAS disappointed that this was not what I had anticipated so I did a 180 and exited never to return… until a year later when my wife wanted to pick something up from there. It’s a huge store, bright and bubbly. Listen carefully and you’ll likely hear Black Sabbath pouring out from the huge PL-89 speakers in every corner of the store — or maybe they’re songs of salvation soothe the soul. Either way, you’re going to find just about any old timey hobby stuff from knitting supplies, yarn, loops, thread, picture frames, bolts of fabric, and everything in between. Hobby Lobby also has a ton of home décor stuff like pictures and posters, picture frames(custom ones to order, too), posters, costumes, Americana, fake flowers(even jumbo ones) etc. Sign up for their email and get coupons emailed to you but remember, no discounts on already discounted/on sale items.

It’s a hobby lobby, so what’s there not to love?! Pros: –tons of stuff to look at so if you have time you need to kill head on in. –great selection of fabrics! –their app usually has a 40% off coupon loaded to it. Cons: –always long lines and it seems never enough cashiers. –Narrow aisles. You can barely get 2 carts past each other without bumping something. –the manager guy that always stands at the front. Yeah I get the whole loss prevention thing… but at the same time I always feel like a criminal while I’m browsing. It’s annoying.

Long lines! No matter what day of the week of time of day, there are never enough cashiers. The managers are always too busy walking the front area like they are guarding the entrance instead of helping out. If the cashiers fail to deactivate your sensor they will make you make you empty out your bags and pockets. Items are always out of stock, or 1 or 2 of this and that. I would rather make the drive to the Rim or Bandera location.

Sign up for emails — you’ll get the scoop on weekly discounted items & usually a 40% off coupon. The check out lines takes forever, only 2 cashiers are usually working(very slowly, I might add). The store is always tidy & aisles are easy to maneuver. Seasonal is separate from regular items. Closed on Sunday’s.

This is my go to Hobby Lobby and I love it here. I could waste the day away browsing through the aisles and day dreaming about craft projects I could do. This place is for the most part well stocked, except for the time I needed orange deco mesh for Halloween and ALL Hobby Lobby stores in SA were sold out in the month of October(minus 1 star). Other than that fiasco, I’ve been able to find everything I’ve need to complete a project. I also love their weekly sales! The floor staff are ok, some are courteous and others seem annoyed when you ask for help. However, there is one particular young man I know to get help from as he is and working and super helpful. The other thing is that more often than not there’s waiting in the checkout lanes, but this gives me the chance to pull up the 40% coupon on my phone.
