I have two favorite HEB grocery stores now– Huebner and Babcock Rd and this location. Why? Because of the large parking lot, the huge selection of food(can you imagine how many hours you could be spending?!), the friendly and helpful staff here. Put this all together and this makes for a great experience at HEB. I recently came here days before Valentine’s Day to buy last minute things for work and family. The sure did have a huge selection of Valentine’s gifts and shirts. The only thing I wish they had was having a dressing room for trying on clothes since the have a huge selection of clothes. I really wish they had an HEB Plus in the medical center area. That would be so awesome. Until then I plan on coming ba

This HEB just irritates the daylights out of me. It has to be the largest HEB in San Antonio, but good luck finding certain items here. .we lived in the Stone Oak area for 12 years and really loved our two local HEBs. Once we moved to the Bandera and 1604 area, we expected to have the same level of service and same product selections, but no… not here. I have even brought this up with management at this location and was met with a «who cares what you think» attitude! I have filled out the forms for items I cannot find in this store, and have never once been contacted by anyone from HEB, nor have the items been stocked! So, when we need something we cannot find at this HEB, we either go to Walmart, or we drive the 15 miles back over to one of the Stone Oak area stores. And what is it about this(and some other) HEBs that they never have enough bagging staff? I am in my 60s and getting a bit fed up with having to bag my own items at this store! Good grief! I usually see groups of HEB shirted employees gathered in small groups laughing and cutting up by the business office while lines are into the aisles, and several register have no one bagging food. Bottom line: Careless management, poorly stocked compared to Stone Oak stores, and just an irritating experience overall!

HEB is the best super market chain I have ever known. It is Christmas Eve 2015 and they have all checkout lanes open. Why can’t other companies figure this out. This is the largest HEB in San Antonio. Every employee I have encountered has been friendly and knowledgeable. You can expect your typical low HEB prices here. The place is always so well kept. If you are a wino and love free samples this is your place. Inside this HEB you will find a complete bakery, a shopping boutique, an extensive fish market to include live seafood, a legit electronics store, free samples of food and drink, a pharmacy, a toy store, common household items, and oh yea a grocery store with an extensive selection of organics. This is the model supermarket for all markets.

You know that feeling after watching a marathon of Top Chef Kids, and you think to yourself. «I could definitely do that!», or «If an 8-year-old can cook risotto, I sure can» So then, your inner Top Chef awakens, and you want to cook something out of the ordinary and crazy. That way, you can upload a picture to your Instagram and be like #ICookLikeABoss But, the reality is that you are not a chef, and you don’t have time to be experimenting with your food That’s were HEB comes to your RESCUE! They have a HUGE selection of Italian — pesto, alfredo, tomato — sauces, which some of them come from Italy… Bellisimo!!! Already cleaned and chopped vegetables for fajitas, bbq, teriyaki or salads. If you love hot spicy salsas for your Mexican food cravings, or just to have with chips… they got you covered. But my favorite is the spicy salsa they make at store –you can find it by the vegetable section -. It’s so good you can taste the fresh products they use, and it looks homemade. But if you are more of a meat lover, and you really don’t know how to prepare a good steak. They have ready to cooked and seasoned beef, barbacoa and chicken fajitas. The also come with instructions on the tag — temperature, quantity, and everything you need to know before cooking it. But my FAVORITE product from HEB, are their jalapeños, filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon! OOOOHHYEEESS If you have ever tried to cook these bad boys, you know the feeling of hot pepper hands. Well say ADIOS to the burning sensation, and HELLO to your dream come true!
