Most people don’t know that you can drop off meat and Grady’s will smoke it for you. I dropped off 50 pounds of brisket the other day for a party. It runs $ 1 per pound and a little more if you want it sliced. It always turns out good. A great option if you don’t have time to smoke it yourself. Be sure and drop off the meat a day or so in advance so they have time to smoke it. I’ve done this about a dozen times now and have had consistently good BBQ.

Time to update my review. When this place first change from Wetmore barbecue to Grady’s it was really good now things of change they have gotten really cheap when it comes to food quality. Just ordered $ 20 worth of food got one piece of bread no onions or pickles and my green beans the all over my car from the way they packed it. Think it’s time to go to new management

3 and a halfstars. Pretty decent bbq for a chainy kinda place. The old building certainly adds to the experience.

Simply not very good. We had chicken fried steaks, mashed potatoes(or something they are pawning off as potatoes), Onion rings and cream corn. The only thing worth eating was the cream corn. The CFS was over breaded and almost hard as a rock. The mashed potatoes are not real, and the onion rings were decent. Won’t be coming back. The pic is how much I will not be eating.

If I could guess what food would be served in hell, I would imagine it would taste like what I ate for dinner at Grady’s on wetmore. The meal aka«death from plate» consisted of chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. So that’s what the menu said I ordered. Let’s start with the green beans. The texture was as if I was chewing noodles that have been boiled for a week straight. The fact that they still held a shape was a miracle. Next, «mashed potatoes». As I am not familiar with brands of instant potatoes, I couldn’t tell you the brand but only that it must have been found in a bunker and served to save a few bucks to us patrons. Now the chicken fried chicken, or should I call it concrete covered dehydrated white meat. The breading was way over kill and solid as rock. Once you’re able to crack the surface you reach and shriveled up chicken substance. Pros: Kids are free and beer was cold.

Ate here for the first time yesterday and LOVED it. I had the chicken tenders, fries, corn and side salad! Amazing, the corn is by far the best corn I’ve ever had in my life. My husband loves BBQ. I don’t like BBQ places normally so this place is heaven sent for us.

Thus is not real BBQ. It is cooked in an oven. San Antonio is one of the few cities where you can get away with this.

I don’t know why, but if my boyfriend decides he wants to go to Grady’s, I have learned that I have to put on tennis shoes. I am a flip-flop person and, for some reason, every time I wear flip-flops there they stick to the floor. Every. Single. Time. Also, I have learned not to get anything that has to be grilled from there i.e. the chicken breast or any cut of steak. Whoever is in charge of cooking the meat doesn’t really know what they’re doing. I don’t know. I just really don’t care for this place. They don’t impress me.

Got the brisket and the sausage. Brisket had decent flavor but was dry, sausage was decent but not the best I’ve had. I saw several people get the catfish and it looked delicious!

Oh my goodness, their chili and baked potato special was great! Good food at a good price and something for everyone. My Dos Equis draft was too light, and probably not a Dos, resulting in the 4 starts. The atmosphere was as we’ve come to expect from Grady’s and provided a sense of nostalgia remembering the Fred. Rd. location as a kid. Thanks for keeping the tradition.

I can usually eat anything and I’m not too much of a picky eater but I haven’t been this disappointed in a long time. It started off with them forgetting the tartar sauce for both our catfish dinners, the fish was rubbery and the fries were dry. My brothers burger was dry(bun, meat and fries) like everything was a day old. The only thing that was decent was the tea.

Wish there were no stars available. Their portions are small. They aren’t customer oriented. Janece was not very friendly. Save your money and go somewhere else

While Grady’s is a BBQ place they are known for their fried catfish as much as their BBQ. The BBQ isn’t as «smoky» as some places it is consistently good. The sauce is a little sweeter than I like it but overall a decent place.

I ordered two meat plate, Brisket and Chicken with spicy BBQ sauce. It is good? yeah. Is it great? No, not really. It kind reminds me of a fast food version of a BBQ joint(I’m not a BBQ expert). The service is friendly and fast. Will I come here again? Yeah, if I’m in the neighborhood. I probably will not go out of my way to eat here though.

I was really sad to hear when they changed the Wetmore store(yet again) to a Grady’s. No offense Grady’s, but this place has so much charm and history, it seems like a waist to be a self serve bbq joint. They do have live music, but it is strange that you do not have a waiter. So everytime you want another beer(unless you buy a bucket) you have to go through the line and purchase another one. I got tired of swiping my debit card each time. The staff was very nice, and the cream corn was good. I just think this place is better suited for a full on restaurant, plus I miss the bar here :(They completely took it out. I never see much of a crowd here, so I will be surprised if it makes it…

This place used to be several different businesses such as Wetmore Store, Wetmore Smokehouse, and a couple others. I went because I had just noticed the change over and had a hankerin’ for some que. First, the place is nice and open inside and they have the usual«Grady’s» style order at the counter, pick up at the window system. No waiters, just food. I just wish the food was better. I really want to like Grady’s, but thats hard to do when even some of the sub-par BBQ I have had is better. I got some turkey, which was really tasty, but a lot less smoky than I wanted it to be. I also got some of the brisket to see how it measures up… not good. The brisket was VERY dry and tough. If not for the sauce, I probably would not have eaten it at all — it was that dry! My daughter got the chicken strip kids meal which included 2HUGE chicken strips. They were closer to breaded chicken breasts rather than chicken strips. It also came with some fries that were soggy and floppy… shameful. The food came out fairly quickly, it just didn’t come out tasting all that great. If you want GREATBBQ, go elsewhere. If you want something marginally better than Bill Miller’s, go to Grady’s.
