The room was comfortable and cute. I wish we had blackout curtains though instead of the shutters, they were cute but didn’t do much for the sun in the morning. The water didn’t spread out much from the shower head, had to pretty much stand directly underneath the shower head, but I’ve used worse showers. I would stay here again.

Great place to stay. Location is unbeatable! Literally steps from the Alamo and Riverwalk. The room was very clean and updated. Not sure why so many complaints about the size of the rooms… there was plenty of space for my husband and I. The breakfast is excellent. They had waffles, cereal, breakfast taco items and plenty of juices and fruit. Staff was great. Will definitely stay here again. The $ 24 parking is not a big deal considering you’ll park here and just walk everywhere and on checkout day, you can leave your car there until 2:00.

Booked for a king deluxe room, only to find out at check in that all the deluxe rooms/suite are out of order and I am stuck with a standard King room. No email or contact was made by the hotel to inform me of the change. Booked my visit in August.

For the exception of the ice machines not working, we had a wonderful stay. Wonderful staff, nice clean rooms. Old world charm at its best. Perfect location for concert venues and the River walk

This was our first time in San Antonio and we were more than satisfied with the services provided by the Crockett hotel. Their staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and content. One example of that was during breakfast, the dining area was packed and one of their managers came to us and offered us to sit by the bar to enjoy our breakfast. They do care about us.

Great hotel for the price. Location is TOPNOTCH, very walkable to all the attractions you might want to see in downtown San Antonio. I was in SA for a conference, but easily got to see the riverwalk(miles and miles of it!), the Alamo, and a handful of other sights due to my proximity. Breakfast was hands down my favorite part of staying at The Crockett. Every morning I was greeted with very full buffet pans of scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, DIY waffle station, fresh fruit(bananas, grapes, strawberries), yogurt, granola, carb options(toast, bagel, muffin), and juice and coffee. Taking out the need/stress of finding breakfast every morning was greatly appreciated. My room was on the larger side(I lucked out with a weird corner-hugging room that had slanted walls but gifted me more floorspace), and had a great view of the Alamo. It was a tad noisy from the nearby clubs/bars on Saturday night, but Sunday through Tuesday nights were pleasantly quiet. All of the hotel staff were very friendly(lots of «good mornings!» and«good to see yous!») and accommodating to any request I had. Obviously not a super swanky spot, but a great vibe and really great if you want to do a lot of walking around.

Stayed 2 nights for our honeymoon. Aside from the tiny elevator not working when we first arrived there(as soon as the maintenance man pushed the button it worked), we never felt, saw, or heard any ghostly things. Very clean room(small restroom), great view of the Alamo gardens across the street. You could hear the horses hoofs from the nearby carriages, but otherwise quiet. Yummy breakfast, great location for a stay. We never had to use our car because everything was within a few feet, or just a mile walk away. They do charge daily parking, which is the same price as valet, but worth it for not having to worry about it being parked in a public street. We’d definitely stay there again though.

Passing through San Antonio we had to make our annual visit to the Alamo. While planning the trip I saw that The Crockett and Menger Hotels are about as close as you can get. The Crockett was about a third of the price so that’s where we stayed. The rooms are old but very well maintained and when I told the front desk that I was unhappy with a small room with no chair they immediately upgraded us to a HUGE room with sitting and kitchen areas at no charge. There is no in house dining except for the wonderful, complimentary breakfast buffet but there are plenty of dining options within walking distance. Valet parking is pricey but any pricing is expensive in the area. We loved this place and will stay here again!

Pros +It may be a fluke, but my room was quite large and clean. The room was always made after I come back from work.(work related trip to SA) +It is a historic hold hotel. Part of the Historic Hotels of America, It has an undeniable charm only old hotels can offer. The brick façade(both inside and out) confirms it. +Literally right next to the Alamo,(!) River Walk, River Center Mall, and walking distance to the Tower of the Americas. Neon signs of the Crockett Hotel can be found on the Alamo postcards; its that close. +I did enjoy their complimentary breakfast. Their Texas Waffle was pretty nice. Cons –Though clean and well kept, the room and most fixtures are dated. –Loud AC and loud running water –Though it sufficed for me, my co-worker complained that the shutters does not entirely block the light coming from the lobby/Alamo and bothered her sleep. -$ 24 parking every day Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Crockett Hotel. Having it right at downtown San Antonio helped me explore the River Walk every night after a days work.

Glad we booked a two night stay prior to reading other reviews! I highly recommend staying here. We paid a little over $ 300 for our two night stay and parking. Yes, parking is $ 20+ a day, but when looking for parking right next the Alamo you can expect to pay upwards of $ 50 a day. I think this is well worth the price of being between the Rivercenter Mall and the Alamo as well as within walking distance of the Riverwalk. The rooms are on the small side, but keep in mind this is a historical building. I found the accommodations to be clean, comfortable, and exceeding my expectations. The complimentary breakfast provided at convenient hours is diverse and delicious — juices, cereal, waffles, bagels, toast, breakfast tortilla fixings, coffee, and more. You can’t beat the price and what you get at this prime location.

Great hotel with lots of character! Double room was very spacious. We had a room overlooking the back of the Alamo. Price is excellent! Only a couple minute walk to the river. I would recommend staying here for sure!!!

— This hotel does not have curtains. If light bothers you when you’re trying to sleep, request an internal room with a lobby view. — The hotel kinda has a smell. It’s not a bad smell or a good smell. Just a smell. + My room was clean and cozy + Excellent location, right next to the Alamo, and near the convention center. + The bed was comfortable + Breakfast was just fine for an included continental breakfast. Better than most + The housekeeping, desk, and bell staff were all super friendly and nice.

Definitely was not my 1st choice of hotels in downtown San Antonio. You get what you pay for, the price per night is reasonable but that’s because the hotel looks and smells cheap. Upon arrival, there was only one guy that was very friendly and welcoming. One of the ladies that works front desk was RUDE, totally unfriendly and had attitude(she looked like Yolanda from Selena) & answered the phone in the middle of me talking to her. During my 5 night stay, my key didn’t work TWICE and I had to use the bathroom. Everyone says this hotel is haunted but I didn’t encounter anything haunting other than that rude receptionist. My one star is for the guy that checked me in(I wish I got his name) and the valet that held my bags.

Pros: Excellent location, great breakfast, friendly staff, clean room, really cool building in general. Cons: At least $ 20 for parking, tiny room(10’x10’, no exaggeration). Would not pay the $ 111 for the room again, even considering the awesome location.

Great location and breakfast. Late night checkin was not to friendly which is the only reason why not five star. Also the parking should be included.

Great historical Hotel in Downtown San Antonio, all in walking distance. Bad side is Parking, they charge $ 24 plus Tax per Day and the Rooms are so tiny, we felt cramped in the room, especially not much closet room and the bathroom is real small. Its not like we stood all day in the Hotel and since it is a historical Hotel it has some downside. Overall Service was great, everyone was very very friendly and the continental Breakfast was almost a Buffet style Breakfast.

This place will get a good review not just for its location but for what it has to offer… as you walk in you are greeted by a nice piano that sits in the lobby. As you look forward and up it seems as this place was turned outside in, they have a nice bar situated right smack in the middle that has daily happy hours and a real nice atmosphere to wind down. The rooms are carpeted with is not really a us for me but will do as they are kept clean, I don’t like the fact that the room we stayed in did not have a microwave or a fridge so I wouldn’t know if all rooms are like that. They did however have a keurig coffee maker with the proper k-cups for them. As you exit the elevator there is a nice big dining room which provides hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, cereals and all your other typical continental items. The waffle when made are the shape of the state of Texas and as big to, but the line for the waffles can get pretty long. As you exit the elevator if you look to your right at about 2 o’clock there is an exit door which if you go out you are directly behind the Alamo and right across the street from the side entrance to the RiverCenter Mall. That entrance also takes you to the IMAX Theater.
