Never a disappoint. The smell of steaks on the grill is always a good thing. Bone-in ribeye is a must paired with a good cab. The service here was great. There are two ways to enter – one from the mall and one outside opposite Crockett hotel. The décor is a modern steakhouse at its best.

Fantastic service and steaks. The Cajun Ribeye is so tender. I don think I’ve ever had such a tender steak. Sides are very large and can serve two. Same with the salads. Extensive wine cellar as well

This is the second time my husband and I have been to this Morton’s and it will be the last. The first time, the food was not as good as the other Morton’s we have visited routinely in Chicago and Las Vegas, as well near our home in Nashville. It was not particularly busy, so it was not as though they were rushed. This evening was a special occasion and it was ruined. The food was fine, but the service was HORRIBLE! The server, Ralph, was loud, unrefined and just plain rude. He could not answer the questions we had about the wine and menu items and he continuously broke into our private conversation throughout the entire meal. It is difficult to have an intimate evening with all that obnoxious interference. Most servers in establishments of this type understand proper behavior but Ralph can be summed up as inappropriate in every way for this environment… unless Morton’s is changing the intended environment. I also noticed others he was serving becoming agitated by him, so I know it was not just us. We felt like he was giving us the bum’s rush. It was quite obvious that he wanted us to finish our dinner and move out so others could take our table(he even offered to get me a to-go cup for my drink, presumably to get us out of there!). We have noticed the redecorations made over the past months that included many more tables crammed closer together(presumably to accommodate more people) and it is very noisy at this Morton’s, which was more like a cafeteria. You even enter from Crocket St and walk past the kitchen prep and serve area into the dining room; they may as well let us grab trays and slap on the food on our way to the dining tables! We made reservations two weeks in advance and we expected to be able to spend as much time as we wished, enjoying a slow, leisurely evening but he brought appetizers with our soup and salad together, and then we barely finished those before he shoved our entrees and side dishes in front of us. Ralph would be much better suited to IHOP, Denny’s or a truck stop with his behavior. So that’s twice that we went to Morton’s San Antonio and were less than satisfied. It will be the last time we go there. Now that we are splitting our time between TN and TX, there are just TOO many great steak restaurants in the area that we need not tolerate bad behavior and inconsistent food preparation from one visit to the next. I just hope that the other Morton’s Steakhouses in the nation have not gone downhill too. Perhaps they have too many restaurants and have outgrown their previous special charm. I sure hope not, but if this is what all Morton’s have become, we can just as easily go to Saltgrass with our Landry’s membership and spend less than half the money for decent, consistent food AND excellent service.

We came on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant was half empty throughout our meal. The food was okay, but the service was really lacking for the price. Our waiter was stiff and made us both uncomfortable. We couldn’t figure out if he was new, having a bad night or if he just wasn’t friendly. He didn’t bring bread until after we had ordered, even though he had visited the table three times prior. There wasn’t a butter knife on the table, so I had to use my steak knife, which shouldn’t be placed on the table until just before the steak is served. We ordered a crab cocktail for an appetizer. We told him we were sharing, but we only got one cocktail fork to use. The crab itself was good, but the presentation was a mess. The crab was served in a martini glass(which is more annoying than interesting) on a bed of iceberg lettuce(the cheapest garnish they could use) and came with a side of mayonnaise(which I don’t think was made in-house). I ordered my steak medium rare and it was definitely rare. It was a good steak, it just wasn’t cooked properly. My husband’s steak had one half medium rare and the other half rare. I don’t even know how they did that. The side dishes were fine, nothing special. We had a slice of cheesecake for dessert. It was good, but it was advertised as New York style, which means a very dense, less sweet cake. The cake they served was very fluffy, more like the kind served at Cheesecake Factory. Morton’s does get points for adding in a bit of tangy, sour cream flavor, but it wasn’t a classic New York style. The best part of our experience was in the bar waiting for our table. The bartender was attentive and made fabulous drinks. I think we would have had a better dinner service if we had stayed in the bar. All in all, I think Morton’s needs to reduce their prices or step up their service.

Good, but pricy. I’ve been to various Mortons quite a few times although this is the first time since they were bought out by Landrys. Fundamentally the same yet different. Not sure the buy out brought anything to the game.

My Boyfriend and I which are frequent Fliers to the Mortons Steakhouse in Dallas which is always amazing So we reserved and was expecting a great dinner but was sadly disappointed due to poor seating placement(Next to the restrooms) Burnt Bread, Terrible Food and Poor server. Management did do their job correctly and handled the situation correctly. But I would not ever go back.

The mortons vallet need to train there younger staff on how to be polite to people who just pull up, even if I am not a customer, I could have been. Shift was August 31,2015 at 8:50 P.M.

Loved the service by Paula. The place was all for us almost. Had a late reservation. Love the bread and butter. Great selection of wine. The featured salad was full of tomatoes. Should have stuck to the chopped spinach. The salmon deviled eggs were topped with the saltiest caviar. Could not eat another! I wanted to order their cherry jubilee with vanilla ice cream but had too much wine and not really any food!

This is the second time we’ve eaten here and it was just as good as the first. We went for our Inlaws 60th wedding anniversary and we had 60 of us there. The wait staff was attentive and very polite. Very impressed considering the size of our group. The food was delicious, the steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The place is expensive, but it is worth every cent. Will be going back there soon!

This restaurant has an entrance from the mall and from outside. I drove up and was greeted by valet, which is a plus bc I didn’t want to look for parking. We went inside and sat down, the waiter was really friendly, recited the specials and I had asked him for his recommendation. He suggested some items but I remembered the porterhouse, mac n cheese, and brussel sprouts. The Mac n cheese and brussel sprouts caught my attention. I went with the filet mignon bc its a leaner cut, medium, mac n cheese and the brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked perfectly, the mac was perfectly cheesy with toasted bread crumbs on top, and the brussel sprouts had bacon and onions… how could you not love it with bacon, everything is better wuth bacon lol. The waiter came aroud frequently enough for good service but not enough to be annoying, plus he told jokes. He was hilarious in what could be a stuffy environment. I had a glass of red wine that went perfectly with my dinner, but unfortunately I don’t remember what the name was. Perfect night out

I was so impressed! The presentation was amazing, the portions were ample, and the tastes were divine. I went as a Mother’s Day treat. I had the creamed spinach and veal medium rare with black truffle butter, hubby had the shrimp Alexander, and son had stuffed shrimp(daughter shared off my plate). I wish I didn’t get full! The ambiance also complimented the meal more than adequately. I hope hubby brings me back for date night!

Amazing atmosphere. I had Zachary as my waiter. My girlfriend and I loved this place. The food portions are great and the food is flavorful. A definite recommend if you’re just visiting the San Antonio area and want to eat somewhere not so touristy.

Morton’s in San Antonio. Very, very nice. I was seated with no problems at all in a very nice, quiet spot just like I prefer. The food was wonderful; I had the baked escargot, chilled seafood platter and a 6-oz filet. All done perfectly to order and perfectly timed so I never, ever felt rushed. There is a proprietary Morton’s special red wine; I highly recommend it! It is quite good and just about 10 bucks per glass. Get their chocolate mousse! It is without question the best mousse I’ve ever had in any restaurant in my life!

Short and sweet(hopefully to the point): Superb cuts of meat, attentive service– MAKERESERVATIONS! Filet mignon and center cut ribeye were great. The mixed grill was on point because it has filet, grilled shrimp and scallops. Try the Brussel sprouts, spinach & mushroom buttons!

I hate to give this place one star… but this used to be an iconic steakhouse. In this day and age, you need to stand out from all the rest of the places. Mortons used to do a steak presentation before your meal, now that Landrys bought it out, they’ve done away with this staple. Most people who are at a steakhouse already know about the cuts of steak, however, it was still fun to see the presentation. It’s nice for people who haven’t been there before. Also, my filet was wildly undercooked. I ordered medium rare, it came out cold in the center. Dark red and purple-ish. I unfortunately had to send it back. It came back still undercooked. If you’re gonna go to a steakhouse in town, hit up Bobs. They do it right the first time. We never need to go to Mortons again.

What a deliciously, juicy, tasty lunch! As serious steak people, my family stopped here for a quick, unplanned lunch while we were downtown. Since it was unplanned, we unfortunately had our entire stroller contraption with us; even though I am positive Morton’s is not used to serving full families with strollers, they were quite accommodating. They stored the excess luggage in a nearby private dining room where I could access my baby’s needs while dining in. At one point I even had to walk out to feed her, and when I came back I found that the kitchen had kept my lovely, sweet and spicy balanced lobster bisque warm for me! I always say it, but good service gets me every single time. Besides the service, the food was fantastic. One thing we did note, though the waiter might have been busy with our baby ordeal, was that other tables received bread and we didn’t. But we wouldn’t have eaten much of it anyway, as we were much too satisfied with the perfectly cooked steak and the home made mashed potatoes to worry about extra carbohydrates. Also to note, it is SO hard to find nicely cooked scallops at a restaurant here, but these were tops! Compliments to the chef! The setting is dim, romantic, and would definitely make a quiet, intimate date night… unless someone like me shows up with a fussy 6 month old, hot from walking the Riverwalk for the last few hours! Rating system: 5 stars = I’ll drive across town specifically for this, and rave to all my friends about it! 4 stars = Would recommend visiting. 3 stars = Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars = You might be able to drag me here. 1 star = I will not be returning.
