Comet Cleaners

Good stuff. One of the few places in this area that has fluff and fold services. Drive thru is great. Had my clothes back in 2 days as promised.

Next day availability and under $ 2 for a shirt cleaning! This place is perfect. They offer drive-​through, drop-​off, house delivery, everything. I am very excited to say that this cleaning company is one of the best I have been to. The staff were friendly and helpful. They knew a lot of their customers on a first name basis. They walked me through what they were doing to my products and they helped me get some coupons so the price would be cheaper. This was very important and most items that need dry cleaning are expensive so customers want to know what is being done to them and if they will be safe upon picking them up. All in all, this dry cleaner is great. They offer clean garments in a warp speed timeline at a price that could be paid with the dropped change under your car seat. I would highly recommend this place.

Quality work is good. Only missing buttons once. But check your receipt very carefully. Overcharged multiple times. Corrected after we reviewed the receipt.

Honestly, I don’t like writing bad reviews and usually done in less I feel they are 100% warranted. In this case, I was hesitant to do so because the young man who works at this location is extremely friendly and professional and even opened up for me 15 minutes after closing one night so that I could drop my clothing off.
Unfortunately, I think other customers should be warned. The first time I use their services, I went back (two days after the close were supposed to have been ready) and they were missing one pair of pants — no apology, just stated that I would have to come back the next day to pick them up. The second time I came, I got back a pair of pants in the waistband on the inside was very frayed– I could still wear them since this was on the inside of the pants, but I believe it speaks to the quality of their processes. This last time (I know, I know, I should have learned) did it for me. I walked around at work all day with a huge HOLE in the crotch that I didn’t notice when I put them on in the morning. I guess they didn’t even check the pants before giving them back to me. I’m done with this place, which is too bad because it is right next to my house.

Ever since moving to this side of town I have been a loyal customer of this cleaners. The pricing is reasonable and the turnaround time is very quick. I’m a big fan of the drive-​thru window which makes for extra convenience. They always offer to place your dry cleaned clothes into your car for you. I’m a big fan of customer service and this place has it down.

There are tons of dry cleaners in San Antonio ranging from the big chains to the mom n’ pop places. There are pros and cons for each. For example, the big shops may lack the je né sais quoi of the small neighborhood mom n’ pop cleaners but what you get in return is consistency and reliability. The smaller shops may know you by name but sometimes service can be sketchy.
Comet Cleaners is obviously one of the big chain cleaners. While I do believe they have higher prices than the small shops, I know I’ll be getting my dry cleaning the next day in most instances. I’ve had some very inconsistent pickups using smaller shops.
Comet has everything you’ve come to expect from dry cleaners. They are a big operation, efficient in their task, and consistent in their product. They excel in bulk jobs which may result in a quagmire at smaller shops. Of course, your large/​bulkier items, leather, silks, etc., usually take longer.
So why 3 stars and not 4? Price. While I think they offer a fair price for the reliability of their service, it’s always more than I pay at the smaller shops (which take 2 – 3 days usually). I’m a cheap bsartad sometimes and dry cleaning is a prime example of where I don’t like to spend a lot of money. Then again, if I owned anything nice, I might.
Anyway, Comet Cleaners will run you a tad more but you’ll usually get your clothes in 2 hours. Items are returned on hangers and covered in plastic. You’ll more than likely be satisfied with their service and willing to accept their prices for the convenience of efficiency.

Avoid this location at all cost. The clothes were not ready when promised. The lost my son’s pants and gave me someone else’s clothes. After I returned the other person’s clothes they kept insisting that the pant belonged to me. They were not even my size!
Secondly the did something to my son’s Suit coat and had to replace the buttons. They kept saying that it would be there the next day, and even called to tell me it was there. But when I arrived it wasn’t. The consolation is that they said they did not charge me! I had gone back 4 TIMES and that’s it.
Go to Culpepper or Frontier. Comet is not good at keeping your clothes together.

Close to my house … Businesses get brownie points for being on the outside of 1604 so I don’t have to dread the main part of Alamo Ranch. Love being able to take back roads for my daily errands :-)
So I don’t know if this company was a move or completely new to AR, I’ve never heard of Comet Cleaners then again I’ve only lived here for 5 months.
Employees are so friendly and nice, big smiles and welcomes when you come in the door. Set up an «account», they supposedly send out email discounts but not spam. They offer military discounts if your total is over $ 15. If you set up an account they will note your discount so it’s automatically applied w/​o you having to ask each time.
Quick turn around — I dropped off Wed before 2pm and my things were ready Thurs after 5:30pm. That’s awesome.
2 sweaters & 1 blouse: $ 16 (before discount). The claim ticket won’t give an amount — just a pick up day/​time.
Plus it’s next to Dunkin Donuts. Bonus!
