Walked in to a crazy buzzing atmosphere gold smells smiling faces and crazy amount of nachos. There was a policeman there midday so no funny business. The food is good and decently prices. Good eye candy as well.

Haven’t eaten at a Chachos in many years so tonight we decided to eat at this location. I have to say I am VERY disappointed in my food. I had the half order of a sloppy carne guisada burrito. My food was cold both inside and out. Not too mention I had about 4 pieces of meat in the entire thing. It was filled with guacamole, sour cream and beans. I should of stuck to the nachos. I probably won’t be back again. I rather go to Mamma Margies.

I usually come for drinks, sometimes nachos or a bean n cheese but always drinks and I gotta say I’ve never been disappointed… Drinks are strong and good for my taste, I’ve had the nachos on two separate occasions and wow!!! Best nachos I’ve had thus far, tried a bean n cheese today and I loved it, their beans for sure are some of the best beans I’ve ever had… Haven’t tried food yet but I plan to, want to have a good buzz and good time, they have karaōke night like tonight Sunday or at least I think it is lol… Anyways great place good atmosphere, once buzzing everything becomes great.

Pros: Excellent food Large portions Plethora of salsas to choose from 24⁄7 Cons: The place is pretty dirty Glancing around, it looks like a minor tornado swept through the casual Tex-Mex restaurant that is Chachos. The tables look like they were thrown about haphazardly. I spent minutes digging through their utensils in order to find a fork and knife that did not have food stuck to it. These are easy fixes. Their food is incredible, whether you go at noon or at midnight(Yes, I have been both times and later and every time in between) and their drinks are superb.

Piles of puke in the parking lot after hours. Rocks in the beans and bones in the chicken. Bathrooms are so filthy you can slide on the floor in your shoes. Drunk girl was carried out by some dude with poop down her leg. No wonder they make the drinks so strong.

The stars are for there nachos and quesadillas, and that’s because I love cheese which is piled on these two items. Everything else that I have ordered has been a disappointment. Maybe some tacos could be good, but I don’t want to try any out because of the last several items I have tried out.

We decided to go to chachos for a late bday dinner and a late night drink after a family member flew in from WA. We stood in a very short line, and ordered our food and drinks. The food and drinks were really good… however… while we were sitting there eating and talking, a waiter, or bus boy, decided that instead of wiping the table down with a clean towel, that he would rather take the BROOM and sweep the crumbs off the table. When we decided to tell the managment about it, they blew it off like it was nothing. It took them nearly 30 minutes to have someone half assed wipe the table down. Smh. When we brought up the guy sweeping the table to another manager, they told us «It happens sometimes» I am no health inspector or anything, but I am pretty sure that isnt ok… ewww I wont be returning anytime soon.

I love chachos! Great way to fill up for a family and get a good drink. Forgot all about the delicious sauces as well. Feel like they really cut down on a few things. Guess they decided to make both places family friendly. Noticed they used all styrofoam bowls instead of the glass ones they once did.

Came here for the cheap margaritas! Had a jack and coke margarita and a strawberry margarita. When ordered you also get free chips and salsa! Jack and coke margarita was pretty good. Not a strong taste of jack. Strawberry margarita was sweet, delicious, and I easily finished this.

So far, I have only tried their nachos, but they were enough to get this place a 5 star rating in my book! Definitely plan to go back to this location the next time we are in the San Antonio area to explore more on the menu. For now, let’s talk about the nachos! The serving size is HUGE! We ordered the large size they recommend for 4 people and we still had food left over, but not because it wasn’t delicious! They also have a chips and salsa bar available as a serve yourself setup!

I was introduced to the glory that is Chacho’s back in 2010, shortly after I graduated from college. My friend lived around the corner and this was our spot for late night eats after I drove down to San Antonio for weekend visits. Six years later, this place is still a must for whenever I visit San Antonio. Now, I must say, Chacho’s is not your fancy dining place like a number of restaurants downtown. But I’m not that kind of girl. I’m down for good old Tex Mex that’s reasonably priced with a variety of drinks. Chacho’s is that place. Their nachos are my absolute favorite of all time and they have the option of melted cheese or queso. Being the queso lover that I am, I chose queso. Sooo very good. The nachos also came with guacamole and sour cream. Sweet. For those of you Jack and coke lovers, they have frozen Jack and coke. I’ve not tried it but I’ve heard that it’s pretty tasty. My personal favorites are the frozen margaritas(which are really strong) and the frozen piña coladas. Off the beaten path(somewhat), this Chacho’s is a longtime San Antonio favorite of mine. If you prefer cool restaurants, fine dining, or the type of service characteristic of a restaurant with hostesses and a maitre’d, this may not be the spot for you. But if you like reasonably priced Tex Mex, a nice salsa bar, and some killer frozen drinks then come on to Chacho’s.

Ok so Unilocal brought me here for the Jack Daniels and Frozen Coke. Nice and cold with. Good amount of alcohol. The food on the other hand, not so delicious. Typical Americanized Mexican food. The nachos was huge but again cheese was a little stiff and but enough meat for the portion. The fajita steak was over seasoned that I really needed a drink. Shredded chicken taco okay. No one told me that you Have to get your own silverware and salsa so when my food came the waitress told me I had to go back in to get it, thanks for that great customer services, so I picked up my hot plate and found a table inside. This place is open 24 hours and it was packed but not for the flavor of the food but the huge portions. They only get 2 stars for the drink. 1 star if I didn’t get the drink. And be prepared to wait for your food because they have to find you first

We love Chacho’s for the laid-back vibe, great prices, and huge portions. The kids love it, there’s plenty of chips and queso to quench even the heartiest of appetites, and there’s always a game on TV to fill awkward conversational pauses. This location does not disappoint! The only annoyance was a small bird flying in the rafters that left a rather unwelcome deposit on the table next to us. Hazards of the garage-door patio seating, I guess!

My boyfriend ordered a burrito and practically 2/3’s of the way to the bottom he finds a long hair in it. So he returns the burrito for a new one but we will most likely not be returning at least not to this location.

Good place for after bar nights. They have some awesome nachos. Tons of cheese. The service is fast too! It’s open 24 hours. Can never finish the nachos. The drinks are good too.

I was at chachos back in September and it was NOT like it was today. Today was horrible. I noticed a lot of paper notices for brisket and egg tacos taped all around on walls. I waited in line with their new cattle style railing winding back and forth. I asked for a dosXX lager but they didn’t have it so I ordered a tea. I asked for a bean and cheese quesadilla, and then a beef fajita taco. Then I was told that they didn’t have beef fajita but instead brisket carbon taco. I said okay figuring it would be seasoned same. I get my food and I noticed that the brisket carbon taco was small. It was taco cabana small! I was done in a few bites. Very disappointed at the size but the flavor was good, but NOT what I came for. My craving was for fajita not BBQ brisket. I moved on to my quesadilla the flour tortilla was very dry and hard and the cheese was not freshly melted. I also noticed it had no beans. I looked at my receipt and noticed the cashier entered it in only as cheese. It was also smaller than two tacos for the price they charged. Salsas at the salsa bar were on ice instead of being submerged in the cooler bar. Mango salsa, avocado salsa, pico de gallo, red salsa were all out and I had to scrape the bottoms to get the last scraps. Another new thing I noticed was the«nacho» station that turned out to be just a chip station that had a tub of heated salsa(not cheese as expected). It was also empty and had crusted salsa on the bottom and sides. The other thing I wasn’t expecting was that the receipt has a tip line. It wasn’t until later I realized when they handed us a table marker with a «funny name» that they were delivering the food to the table. I asked my dinner companion if maybe I heard the cashier incorrectly when she said they didn’t have beef fajita. Nope, we both heard the same, except she got steak nachos and was expecting the same meat as me, but got beef fajita flavored meat. So what is going on!!! In summary, this isn’t typical chachos. Prices look higher, portions were smaller, quality was worse, and pushing brisket(not Mexican food) onto customers. Quit trying to be like bill millers BBQ and just be chachos. I hope next Christmas when I visit, you will have your c-r-a-p straightened out.

Egh. My husband and I dined here after work and our experience was a lot less than we expected. I kind of felt like herded cattle. We arrived at about 12:30 am on a Saturday night after work. The line was long and the parking lot was full. But we expected that. I got in line only to find that the only menus were at the front of the line so we waited. We finally get to the front of the and are not given any time to review the menu. The order takers next to us were screaming for the next person in line and overall it was an overwhelming experience. I tried to view their menu online as we waited but their website’s menu wasn’t set up for mobile. I told my husband to just get the big nachos and two margaritas and be done with it. I was getting annoyed. We find a place to sit and get our nachos. Yes the nachos are big. A big plate of stale chips, cheese, refried beans, and some chicken that we only got a few bites of. Also a side of guac and sour cream. I did like their green salsa. The margaritas were pretty strong but not really a good value. We spent $ 26 and I was not impressed. I really enjoyed the guy that basically threw them at our table and walked away. It was a busy night. I understand that. Lots of drunks. Annoying kids. I’ll try again another night during the week and see what I get.

CHEESE! GLORIOUSCHEESE! Stay away if you don’t love it… Because they pile it on everything! This is indeed my fav location in SA– cleaner than the Perrin location– and its around the corner from my sisters house. The other great thing is it is open 24 hours a day. Think of Taco Cabana but with WAY better food. Yeah– there is a funny smell. but it goes away once you have been in there a few minutes. The very first thing you will notice is the bar on the right– try the frozen jack and Coke– and that’s not a typo! Then you will see the salsa bar in all its glory– i like mixing them to get the flavor and heat I’m in the mood for that day. Last is the crown jewel– the sweet little lady’s making the tortillas and gorditas by hand. JACKPOT! I don’t care if the place smells like rotting feet. if they are making the tortillas by hand I’m all over it! I have a place in my heart for the puffy tacos thanks to my loving father whom was raised in SA on the local delicacy. Don’t let the prices fool you– the portions are huge. You have to try a gordita also– you rarely find a place that makes the shells by hand. Try and avoid it around dinner– this place is not as large as the others and it get super packed.

The food is ok. Two things make this place great. The fact that they’re open 24 hours and frozen jack and cokes. Really all you need to know about it the frozen Jack and cokes because that alone should get you through the door. You’re welcome.

I like nachos therefore I like Chachos. If you like nachos, you also will like Chachos. Chachos has great nachos. Big nachos. Huge, in fact. I got a half order of steakhouse nachos and nearly didn’t finish. Chachos nachos have a ton of cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Chachos also has a huge selection of salsas in the salsa bar. It kind of reminds me a lot of Taco Cabana’s salsa bar. Chachos is quite large and good for groups. Everyone at Chachos was friendly.
