Great food, I would give it a 5 star, except they serve cans and bottles of soda instead of fountain drinks. We get double charged for them, and it is incredibly wasteful for the environment. Need go upgrade asap!

Floors are dirty. Restrooms are dirty. The kitchen area by the men’s room looks untidy and dirty. The food was too greasy. I had the crispy tacos. There was no complimentary corn chips or salsa. My coffee cup was chipped. Fine dinning prices for a below fast food experience. The cost was too high for the type of place it is. The only two things positive I can say about this place is the coffee was good and the waitress was nice. Oh, and the wheat flour tortillas were good too. That makes three things. I won’t be coming back.

Prices went up, Quality of food went down, my food looked like it was microwave a little bit too much. Tortillas where burned and menudo was watered down. Super Chilaquiles are my favorite thing to order here, and they dropped the ball. I hope owners do look at Unilocal reviews and make corrections on there’s flaws. I like this place been coming for years and staffs always friendly.

My first time here. Maureen has reviewed this place several times, so I thought I’d give it a go. Very crowded. What do you expect at straight-up noon on a Saturday. But I was seated within 15 minutes. I was going for the eggs ranchero and barbacoa but alas, out of barbacoa. Plan B was the Garibaldi plate — two tacos al carbon, guacamole, borracho beans and salad. Pretty good stuff. Really fat tacos. The avocado was pure and creamy. Even their coffee is yum, except I wish the creamer was half and half and not that fake coffee buddy stuff. Service was very good, too. My server usually works at the #4 location.

Never a bad meal with any of the choices on the menu. The beef fajitas are awesome! Enchiladas rock! The tortillas are super soft and tasty. The wait staff are awesome. .ask for Maria.

I’ve been eating at Garibaldi’s restaurant since the mid 90’s but my home location was at Hwy 90 and Pinn road. Since I’ve lived in the Med center for the past 4 years I’ve made the Fredericksburg location my home for enchiladas. The service at times can be really rocky. They’re always busy and that can complicate things. But they are busy for a reason, their food is amazing. To be brutally honest everything I’ve ever eaten there is good. Breakfast tacos are super stuffed, fresh, and addictive. The eggs and cheese are of the highest quality. The enchiladas are unbeatable at least on this side of town, their only rival would be Angelica’s # 2. The sauce they’re laden with is beefy, spiced accordingly, and rich. The cheese used is salty heavenly deliciousness. The guacamole is superb, pure avocado no fillers, no onions, just green goodness. Some other downsides are the chips and salsa are not complimentary, but their house salsa ranchera is beyond words tasty and super spicy. It’s worth paying extra for, the chips as well are fresh and house made, again I’m willing to pay extra because they’re so damn good. Give em a try they honestly will knock your sombrero off!

I was going to leave them at 4 stars because of the quality of the food, but offer this tip — if you go in and see the restaurant full expect 50 minutes before you get served. So arrive at 11:20 or 1 pm if you are on a lunch hour. We had to take our food to go yesterday which was not what we had hoped for.(Later visits leaves me thinking the quality of food is uneven. Down to 3 stars, folks.)

This place has the by far the GREATEST Carne Guisada I have had here in town. No other place compares to them. Oh yeah and the Cheese that drips off in the sauces… OMGGGG this thing is so good. The very first time I had Carne Guisada like this was at the Orginal location off of Old HWY90. I have to agree with«Adam B: Carne Guisada — tender chunks of beef, gravy has plenty of flavor and was not too watery. No drippy tacos here. Honestly read more », this was a heck of a taco.“ I do not care who you are, what side of town you live on, or how much money you make here in San Antonio this is one place to take someone who wants the taste of «HOMEMADE» carne guisada like the grandma would make it. Fresh homemade tortillas. yummster is off the chart good. lol. Second thing I would have to say that is so awesome are the enchiladas, and once again that CHEESE! Not sure exactly what kind of cheese they use for me I always called it Government Cheese, because only Government cheese melts and taste as good as theirs does.lol. Breakfast is always good. I think this place needs to be on the Best of… Whatever it is this place is not just your whole in the wall it’s a whole in the wall with a lot of goodness and great memories for those of us who have gone to the orginal where the lines are always out the door on the weekends/weekdays. How ever I feel that even though this thread is about the Fredricksburg location. It reflects whats going on at the orginal location. Keep up the awesome work, and do not get rid of the Cheese or change that type of Cheese.lol.

In my everlasting quest for a great taco, I ventured to Garibaldi’s Mexican Restaurant. This place is located in Balcones Heights in the building that used to be a Bonanza many many years ago. Walking inside, it reminded me of my youth growing up in that area. However, Bonanza never had some of the best Carne Guisada I have ever eaten like Garibaldi’s. Here is the breakdown: Carne Guisada — tender chunks of beef, gravy has plenty of flavor and was not too watery. No drippy tacos here. Honestly, this was a heck of a taco. Bacon, bean and cheese taco — Thick sliced bacon, beans that were freshly refried judging from the texture and taste. The cheese was delicious too. Only gripe was that there was one slice of bacon. I would have liked a second slice in there but that is my preference. It doesn’t take away from the yummy goodness that this place provides. If you in the area, then give this place a try.

This place was a hidden gem. I had the lunch special, two tacos al pastor. The corn tortillas were delicious, made on location. They were huge, and delivered hot, and fresh to the table. We got chips and salsa. The chips came in two colors– white, and orange, which were pretty good! The salsa was a bit watery, but still alright. The décor was nice, it was an updated Bonanza Steak House, but with paper picado hanging from the rafters, and paintings of the homelands on the walls.

Was driving down Fredericksburg road a little before lunch and saw this place had a parking lot full of cars. I decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. This place was very solid and filling! I had the mexican plate and it was great. Crispy taco, Chalupa, 2 Chees enchiladas, rice & beans. Homemade corn tortillas to boot. A very good enchilada gravy. Place was packed at lunch so go early or expect a wait!
