This is a wonderful Chinese buffet. The food is nothing authentic, but you don’t come to a Chinese buffet for authentic Chinese food. It has something for everyone: lots of chicken and beef, seafood, salad, noodles and rice, meatloaf, and pizza! There’s also a dessert bar with fresh fruits, cookies and a soft serve ice cream machine. Come when you want to carbo load, it’s so much better than a pasta dinner!

Love this place! A million times better than any of the other Asian restaurants I’ve been to on the south side. Food is delicious, Mongolian grill is fresh and tasty, and their sushi/sashimi is made fresh in front of you. Also, the restaurant itself is kept very clean, and the service staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Went here on a Sunday, paid about $ 12, and left stuffed. The variety of food was great and the staff keeps everything very fresh. Was super surprised to see such a large sushi and hibachi bar located in the same spot, and included in the buffet. Place was busy, but the staff has everything down to a science to where you’re not unconvinced. Wish I lived closer, because I’d go here more often.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! I forgot about eating here, we were too hungry to go somewhere else. Will not make that mistake again. The beef on the Mongolian bbq station was green. The shrimp and chicken looked slimy. The fried chicken wing looked like it came from an episode of the Simpsons. I think the sign was wrong… Should be called Buffet S*****. My friend said it should be called Buffet Kitty.

OK — I actually really enjoyed my dinner here at Buffet City. I was en route on a 1200 mile road trip and needed to take a break to grub while in San Antonio. The buffet had a nice assortment of items, all were hot which was nice to find. The frog legs were tender, but could have used a some more pepper. The pepper beef very good and also tender. The dumplings were mediocre in flavor and probably wouldn’t get those again. The spare ribs were overcooked but sauce was right. I remember the steamed and buttered tilapia being popular, as it was in and out. The house special chicken was overcooked to being inedible. The real star here though is the mongolian BBQ station. They have a lot of things right and only a few nitpicks on my side. Things that matter to me: bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, water chestnut slices, pineapples, mini corn, shrimp, and whole eggs. The noodles could be better but are far from the worst I’ve tried. They are a bit soft. As far as sauces go — it’s been a while since I’ve seen an actual assortment, which brings me joy to find. You put all the sauces you want in a small styrofoam cup and then bring it with your bowl up to the cook. If you’re looking for a good starting point for a sauce base here is what I like: — 1 hefty spoon of minced ginger, no you’re not overdoing it — 1 spoon sesame oil — 1 spoon rice wine — 1 spoon lo mein sauce — 2 spoons kung pao sauce — Half spoon of Mongolian sauce — no teriyaki or soy I made two plates of mongolian bbq.

This place is very worth the money. There is a nice selection, including the desserts. It’s hard to go wrong with this buffet. Note: this is not a purely Chinese buffet.

Food was good. Its a good mix of food, I have been to buffets that have a wider selection, however, the food seemed fresh and the restaraunt looked clean. I especially liked the mongolian section where you pick the protein, veggies and sauce and they prepare it for you. I sampled some dessert from my daughter’s plate and I did not like the cheesecake. It tasted kind of like cheddar cheese and was a little hard. Also, The chocolate pudding was warm. Our meal for 2 adults and I child, 2 teas, 1 soda, on a weekend came out to $ 29.00. We enjoyed our meal overall and would return. :)

I loved this place! The food was fresh and did not look or taste like it had been under a heat lamp all day. The only downfall is that they serve their crab hot and I prefer it cold :(

I wish I lived closer! Buffet City is a true GEM. Everything on the buffet tasted fresh and the flavors were spot on. Even the enchiladas were tasty(I have never had a good enchilada at a Chinese buffet). Aside from the excellent selection the staff is very friendly. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Found them on the Unilocal while visiting San Antonio during the Christmas time. The food is 4 stars even in San Francisco standard. But the service was 5 stars. The sea food was very good. The taste was on the spicy side due to local flavor. Will visit again if visiting San Antonio again.

We went because the commercials were getting to us. The commercials make it seem like more than what it is. The food was okay and the restaurant was clean for the most part. Will we go out of our way to go back probably not.

So hubby and I were looking for something to eat. We were on this side of town and I looked on here for nearby restaurants. This one was the first to pop up. We road down a lil further, then came back. Walked in and I was already impressed! The foire was beautiful all by itself. Selection was awesome. What really sold me all the way was they actually have«hot» crab legs! I was in heaven. We will definitely be back. Oh and my all time fav was the sushi! They also have eel roll on the bar! Loved it!

The food is fresh and hot. They have a large variety to pick from as well. The only downside was how far the sit you from the buffet and the lights kept shutting off due to a breaker popping. This happened many times and caused it to get warm while trying to eat. The food was fantastic but I wouldnt pay dinner prices for the food.

Went here for the first time last week. My boyfriend recommended we go because it just recently opened up across the street from his work. We were very pleased with the nice clean atmosphere, pretty light fixtures and friendly staff. Food selection is amazing. A nice mix of sushi, Chinese, Mongolian BBQ and they even have american selection like chicken wings, fish, fried shrimp and chicken nuggets which were great for my 5 year old daughter. Will definitely go back :)

Outstanding! Had an opportunity to finally try out Buffet City. Loved the environment. People were obviously enjoying their food… lots of eating little talking! The service is superb, everyone was exceptionally polite and speedy. I was very impressed by their selection. Wide variety ranging from: BBQ, to seafood and the traditional chicken and beef mixes. I was most notably impressed that they make fresh sushi there. There was a plethora of sushi to choose from, hence my palate never became bored. You can even choose from a selection of uncooked meats, veggies etc. and they will cook if fresh for you on the grill. The floors were kept very clean and the air was fresh. Definitely will come back!!!

We went there a few weeks after it opened and thought it was a keeper for us. Everything was fresh and lots to pick from. Loved the sushi, crab legs and peel and eat shrimp. The shrimp sauce was the real thing not that ketchup stuff most places give you. The service was great. I know we will be back. It’s the best buffet we have had here so far.
