Luby’s

My hubby and I ate at lubys for Christmas day I had no idea it was open service was good love every thing in the menu,

Christmas day, myself, my boyfriend (of 3 yes, who’s from Chicago, has never eaten at a Luby’s.) And my mom choose to eat our Christmas meal at Luby’s.
Our experience was absolutely wonderful. You could really tell that they had an excellent staff of employees, and they all worked very well together. The line moved very quickly. And kuddos to the young man that was tending the door for keeping everything so well togther and was very polite, even offering seats to a few elderly ladies a seat while they waited in line. There were so many menu choices, we had a hard time choosing, everything looked so good. The portion sizes were huge too. Staff members even carried out trayes to the table for us, the manager was even helping seat guest. Everyone was very happy, jolly, and full of smiles. Our waitress was very fast and accurate when get us our lil extras and our refreshments refilled. All in all out experience at Luby’s this Christmas was so amazing we are condsidering it to be our new family Christmas traditon. Thank Luby’s Merry Christmas.

Not amused, not even a little. I came here on a weekend, and went to choose my plate. A quarter of the food here looked cold, or left out. What I had chosen was a chicken fried steak, with mashed potatoes, a baked potato, and a chocolate mousse pie. Now, for my drink, I was expecting Coca-​Cola, instead I got a «mystery» drink, because they weren’t competent enough to put up a sign of what they changed CC to, or if they ran out. After tasting my chicken fried steak, what I can say is that it was awful, it was cold, soggy, and sour for some reason, I just couldn’t finish it. Mashed potatoes taste like every other one, nothing special. The baked potato tasted like it was left out for a few hours. Then, finally, the dessert. Tasted like a chewy pie, a little odd, but fine, I guess. After all this terrible food, I had to wash it down with my «mystery» drink. It was clear, so I thought it must be Water, Sprite, Or even Tea. I took a big sip… and it was sparkling water, I didn’t expect that… I had felt like throwing up, but held it down. My experience here was an awful one. Please, do not eat here at this Luby’s, save your money, and spend it elsewhere, somewhere actually great, because it’s quite pricey! Never coming here again.

I returned to this location yesterday and had the Senior LuAnn. Got a great meal with my favorite baked fish, fried okra and cornbread. I also had the twice-​baked potato — something new for me at Luby’s. I enjoyed the meal as usual but especially the service from Pedro. He took care of my every need and just couldn’t have treated me better. Just can’t beat good food and good service — especially at a cafeteria. I’ll be back again soon — this location offers the Senior LuAnn, after 4pm, with half-​size entrees but full sides and bread. It takes $ 2 off the regular price at only $ 5.99.

I always come here and have a good experience but today… I saw lemon seeds in the clean cups!

Cheap Quik meal usually I never come in these restaurant but server «Laura» is hard worker and sweetie!!!

Quick service, consistent food quality at most of these chains, and friendly waitresses keeping an eye on you at your table. Good stop for homey food where you can get exactly what you expect every time. Salads taste fresh and cold. Fish is well-​cooked. Mac n cheese is a delicious side. Bread options are all sweet and baked on site, and haven’t had a bad dessert item. Love the chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips and chocolate drizzle. Delish!
