Andrea’s Barbacoa & Tacos

Have been meaning to post this review for sometime, but just kept getting distracted. So short and to the point, this isn’t the type of place you eat in at, it’s the type of barbacoa/​tacos that you get to go early Saturday or Sunday to get ready for the football games. The meal deals are honestly the only thing I ever get, succulent barbacoa, spicy salsa Verde, fresh onion, cilantro, and lime, avocados are extra, and the tortillas… Amazingly fresh and still hot, easily can feed a family of 4 for about 16 $ and you can always get more barbacoa at a reasonable price. Highly recommended and highly satisfied

BEST POZOLE VERDE EVER! Really hard to find in San Antonio. It is the best I have ever had!!! Seriously.

Love how they sell their meats by the pound. A nice way to save some money if you have a big group at home to feed.
In relation to the many of other tacos I had on my most recent trip to SA, this places is ok. Fairly average. The tamales leave a lot to be desired. Dry Dry Dry.
The tacos are a bit pricey for the area — and they’re not special enough to justify the higher price.
Service is good. They take credit cards. They’re a bit stingy with their salsa (read: let us have as much as we want, THIS IS TEXAS).

This is honestly one of the best tacos in San Antonio. I know that a lot of people bandy that term around willy nilly style, but I’m not kidding.
This is a no-​frills kinda place. Only one table in there. Not much art work on the wall. They don’t mess around with that stuff, because they can make a serious taco. Handmade tortillas, packed tightly with delicious fillings. Their salsas were hot and great!
The problem with this place is that they’re only open Friday — Sunday! Even then, I’ve sought them out on Fridays, only to find them closed anyhow. They do some busy takeout service.
The cashier was friendly and patient while I looked over the menu and had a hard time deciding. I opted for Andrea’s taco, which was muy delicioso!
The dining area was clean, but small. Not good for eating in at.
I will most definitely be back for their take-​out tacos!
