I haven’t had a fantastic meal here since it opened, but I keep giving it chances. So far, the best thing I’ve done at this place is happy hour– cheaper booze and appetizers. That’s pretty much the only thing I’m willing to pay for. My steaks are always overcooked, veggies bland and under seasoned, service mediocre. My son likes the queso, but it’s just white cheese with the consistency of Velveeta. The salsa is gross. Ugh, I’ll just come here to drink, then.

Crispy. Duck. Wings. Amazing! They also are the only establishment in San Angelo that serves sweet potato fries. I have yet to try their beers, but their drinks are really good and their southwestern burger is tasty as is their sausage platter meal. I like the ambience here and the customer service is great.

Don’t call it Gumbo! If you didn’t start with a proper rue and the trinity(properly cut up) its sausage soup, Epic Fail! However the crab cakes and fish tacos are very good. Service is excellent. Stick to making Beer and leave the Gumbo to someone from the coast!

Love this place! Red curry chicken is my fav! They don’t have Shiner but enjoy the staff trying to come up with an equivalent for me. So many different beers and fantastic food! Because of the building it is a little loud but worth it!

Scott and I stopped off at the Ale House on our travels. What a great place. We started with the duck wings, interesting! The fish and chips were excellent, I would recommend having them with a beer flight. Its hard to find new things to say about the Ale House because other people said it just as well on Unilocal but we’d definitely hit this place again!

The southwest burger and pulled pork sliders were great — I recommend both dishes. We are here in San Angelo visiting a relative and this was a great a cozy ale house. I was a little disappointed in the beer selection — but I heard they only recently turned into a brewery. The service was ok.

Zero One Alehouse San Angelo, Texas date of visit: 12.30.15(lunch) With appetizers telegraphing its neo-neu-wave taphouse foodie wave, focus on wings(duck and chicken), BBQ Pork Nachos and Hop-Salted Calamari. Potato Balls(ie twice baked and deep fried potato) sported an excellent flavor but came out cold in center. Not too greasy and great texture combination, almost perfect-ish appetizer. House Ceasar Salad: good mix of dressing and lettuce(though not romaine) and little light on the parm, this salad had a good but not great flavor… and while not too tart, seemed almost as if it was slightly dumbed down. Overall, a really good salad and very well balanced dressing. Balance was the key in this dressing’s flavor, which seems to be a high-functioning trend for the restaurant. Pulled Pork Sliders Excellent; great and lean but moist mixture of pulled pork and just the right amount of tang-BBQ sauce; also slightly less than warm enough(plates cold and no hot lamps on the line may contribute to this); 3 sliders per serving and just excellent, excellent flavor and fresh buns… one can never underestimate the power of fresh buns. Pork Tacos Spicier than their country cousin(pork sliders), and with pickled red onion and«Guapotle» sauce, queso fresco, this slightly messier pulled pig bit of awesomeness puts a slight kicker dance in your mouth… another outstanding offering and likely my favorite of the day. Also, finally we’ve found a hot dish, even if a side… the true mexican rice w/black beans(aka ‘black bean pilaf’)…great flavor… just great. Bar: Over 22 craft beers on tap, including 3 of their own making; good quality and moderate number of wine and liquor and beer; two flat screens at either end of bar; great atmosphere and two 6-tops available. Overall: Bartender Ashley by far the best of the best; great attentive service and attention to detail; Best server I’ve had in a while anywhere. Food: Fresh ingredients and exquisitely balanced flavors; Ambiance: two rooms, 8 high mounted flat screens, dark wood and rich bar add to just a real quality place; very comfortable; well apportioned space and high ceilings make for good sound levels. One of my favorite places overall since arriving in San Angelo. Pros: Fast lunch service; Great atmosphere; phenomenal server(at Bar) and incredibly fresh and balanced flavors. Price: Moderate Cons: Food/plates could be hotter. #WouldIGoBack? #HellYes miu

Went one Sunday afternoon, glad I did. The food and bar selections are great. I hand the pulled pork nachos, it sounds kinda weird, but they are excellent the pork had a perfect smokiness. The beer selections are from all over the world and the bartenders are very knowledgeable on selections, just tell them what you like and they will help you broaden your beer pallete. There are waiting recommendations on the menu. There is no way you can go wrong giving this place a try.

Seriously — I have never found a bar, restaurant or pub in the USA that serves Krystall Weissbier beer! Last time I had Heavens Water was in Germany! Their home brew double IPA will have me coming back weekly! Thai red curry is very, very, very spicy. Very yummy & dress veggies, big shrimp. Plus, not to filling. The bartenders Hannah & Ashley were super professional & attentive! This is my new spot in Downtown San Angelo! Xo

This is my second visit to Zero One. First visit I had their yummy fish tacos. Service was good and beer was tasty. Was a little sad I was a day early on their new menu. Second visit, awesome! The new food and drink menu is above par. I had a burger on a pretzel bun that was finger licking good. The blueberry cocktail was amazing!!! Tried a few different cocktails and each one was above and beyond delish. Took a chocolate espresso(don’t recall name) back to my room and wow that was good. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you, Crystal, for the great customer service.

Great place, great staff, great food and great beer. Been here a few times, with the family and on a date and each time it’s a pleasure. The seared tuna is my favorite, light but full of flavor. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the hops salted calamari. It didn’t really do it for us but everything else was on point! I highly recommend zero one!

I stopped in for a quick bite to eat and had a great experience here. I ordered the chicken salad salad and it was delicious. The chicken salad is stuffed in half of an avocado and rests on top of a bed of mixed greens and strawberries. It comes with balsamic vinaigrette, which I had on the side but I ended up trying the honey mustard dressing and it was delicious(both were good I just love honey mustard). The salad doesn’t really need dressing though because of the chicken salad. The chicken salad tasted fresh and had just the right amount of mayonnaise on it, not TOO much. Also, the service was super fast and the staff was friendly and attentive. Prices fair too. Great experience.

Very impressed with this place. Was here on work for a few days and it was the first bar in San Angelo that had a decent craft beer selection AND an excellent burger. Had the Brew House Burger with jalapeños and sweet potato fries, paired with their in-house pale ale — delicious. I will definitely be back when I’m in San Angelo again.

One of the many non-chain restaurants in San Angelo. Good service, good atmosphere, good food. I ordered the crab cake & the ‘sheuben’ sandwich. The service was quick with about 12 people in our group. Check it out!

Kinda feels like a small non chain version of Cheddars. Food was reasonably priced and good quality, tasty but underwhelming. Good sweet potato fries. Strong 2 stars. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat here just don’t expect to be moved.

I would really give this place a 3 ½ if I could for the friendly and accommodating service. The cheeseburger was decent, cooked to order, but a bit on the thin side. The kitchen accommodated my picky order of salad greens in place of a burger bun by giving me a complete salad with croutons, real bacon bits and even sliced hard boiled eggs. My hubby’s was just average. Shoestrings fries were well seasoned, but luke warm. The beer list is impressive, a lot of west coast options: Full Sail, Sierra Nevada and Rogue. East Coast is well represented with a trio of Dogfish Head IPAs. However, the house Cabernet was Yellowtail. Had I not seen the bottle and realized that I paid $ 5 for a glass of $ 6 bottle wine, I would’ve been happy. Go for another vintage if you’re opting for something off the wine list.
