For San Angelo, this place is really tops! The atmosphere is comfortable but not too«uppity». Not overdone. The artwork is kind of hit or miss… I’ve seen a few things in there I’d maybe like to own, but most of it is West Texas cowboy type art. I guess you gotta take what you can get from semi-locals? The woman who owns the place is always freindly and attentive. The wine list is always pleasant. I usually just order by the glass, but I have done a tasting once or twice and that was fun as well. There is generally something for everyone — white, red, rose, bubbly, dry, sweet — whatever you’re looking for! CHEEEEESE! I always love cheese to go with my wine. I just love cheese. Mmmmm cheese. But anyway! Black Swan always has a good selection of yummy cheese — NOT your stupid, sub-par colby jack and cheddar — things like hatch chili cheddar, fig and balsamic goat cheese, dill havarti… Om nom nom! My mom and I always hit up Black Swan at least once whenever I’m in town visiting her… We love it! It’s our go-to pre(or post… or both) dinner spot!

Cool place for a cocktail party. I was disappointed that most of the art pieces were prints or canvas giclee. Several members of our party did make some lovely purchases of originals.

I am new to San Angelo and am excited to be finding such cool places in a town Angelo’s size. As someone who likes to take the usual rambunctious bustle of a typical bar in moderation, Black Swan offers a relaxing and comfortable alternative for drinking with friends. For those with musical interest or inclination, don’t miss Jazz vocalist and guitarist Ellen Meyer performing Saturday evenings and hosting an open mic on Thursdays. Last night made my second visit to Black Swan, and I’m looking forward to many more.

It’s small and has art all over the walls it’s a nice place to go for some wine and cheese. The owner is great to talk to and very informative if your new in town. I will go back if I could!!! Much love from Eagle Pass.

Unique, relaxing, and great time! It’s really nice to find a place like this in San Angelo. The wine flights are great and at a reasonable price. Their delicious selection of cheesecakes that they import from Chicago is amazing! Don’t forget to look around and check out the numerous art on the wall. All this along with live music on most weekends add up to a great experience.

I have been trying to go here for months, but it seems to always be closed for a private party every time I venture downtown. Last night though it was finally open and I’m so glad I finally got the chance to go in. There’s a wine bar set up in the back corner when you walk in, and clusters of tables with loveseats and chairs against the lefthand wall for groups to sit at. They bring you a small bowl of olives to eat(yum!) and offer cheese plates and desserts for you to order as well. The wine list was fairly extensive and offered a little bit of everything, from sweeter muscato to more tannin-filled reds. Service was excellent too; the girl who served us was super friendly and more than happy to answer questions. I’ve only got a few months left until I’m finally paroled out of San Angelo, but I think it’s wonderful that a nice, classy establishment has finally opened downtown, where adults can gather, have a few glasses of wine and enjoy conversation.
