Texas Steak Express – San Angelo

I’m giving a 3 just because I have not tasted the food but because they took 15 mins for them to acknowledge the fact that I was standing to order I ordered at 4:55 it’s now 5:32 and my order is still not ready depending on the food maybe I’ll come back but if not my review will change and never coming back again

After numerous times of giving them PLENTY of time to get me my order to me at the time I needed it by ordering WAY ahead of time they failed yet again. After placing an online order at 10 am to be delivered at 12:45 pm (plenty of time right?) I get my food at 2 pm.

The steaks are either hit or miss. Sometimes FANTASTIC, sometimes over cooked, but always has a good flavor. Their delivery leaves a lot to be desires. I rarely get my food in under and hour. I would find this reasonable if that is the time frame quoted when ordering, but I usually get the 45 – 55 minutes line.
Customer service leaves a lot to be desired as well, they are friendly enough when taking your order, but if you call back they are less than helpful.

Charged for a $ 30 dinner and not only did they not call
me to tell me they «VOIDED» it due to being taken in the last 30 minutes of delivery (which the employee said they still were taking orders for delivery) but they charged my card for the food I never received. Coming from a restaurant background that is completely unacceptable. Not only were they not accommodating and doing what they could to fix the situation, the best they could do was have the GM contact me TOMORROW.

Has the best flavor and the first few times, the steak has been exceptional however the last three times, flavor still there but either due to the muscle tissue or connective fiber, we are chewing and chewing and chewing. I hate this because we will not continue to pay this much for steak we cannot eat. Seems to be easy solution to tenderize cause the flavor is amazing. Hope this can be helpful because we loved this place.

Best delivery, great steaks and shrimps! I love this place. The bread is really good, the delivery guys are super fast and the prices are just ok. If you are like me that works and sometimes doesn’t have time to cook, a place like this is the one to call.

I have always used Steak Express for my go-​to delivery service until recently when I ordered a lunch special online at 11am today. I received a call at 12pm from the driver saying that it would be another 15 minutes till he will deliver to me. At that point I waited long enough for 1 (soon to be cold) steak. I called the store and expressed how I am unsatisfied with the amount of time it has taken to deliver my order and that I wanted to cancel and get my money back. I was never apologized too for the inconvenience. I was put on hold to speak with a manager. The manager did not want to speak on the phone or was too busy to deal with an unsatisfied customer so the same girl asked me again if I wanted the food still. I just wanted to cancel my order and get my money back. so she just said «Ok, I’ll cancel it» and then all I heard was her hanging up. That was it. So dealing with Steak Express has been inconsistent and I will discontinue my business with them. Also DO NOT leave a tip on their online ordering, they always come late when you do.

This place is either very very good or very very bad. You never know which one you’re going to have delivered to your door. I just ordered a steak chief’s salad which was promptly delivered. I then promptly threw it in the trash. The salad came with prepackaged cheese and croutons. Who ever prepared this salad placed the unopened packages of cheese and croutons directly on top of this raw salad which immediately contaminated the entire meal. Common sense would seem to dictate that these packages of condiments could have easily been placed in the delivery sack. This makes me wonder if the health department would have a field day in this place. I’ve ordered my last meal here however.

Steak Express is the best delivery option around San Angelo. I ordered from this restaurant because two friends of mine had tried it and loved it. I placed my order online, requested a specific delivery time and waited. The one drawback was that the driver was 45 minutes later than I expected, and I think that if you order for your food to be delivered at a specific time and they can’t accommodate that, they should give you a courtesy phone call. I was slightly grumpy about this, so I cut the small talk and tipped the delivery guy (who was honestly very nice) and dragged my lazy ass back up to my dorm room.
Let me tell you something– I was absolutely shocked at the quality of the food. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was amazing! The meat was so tender yet thoroughly cooked (like I wanted it) and it was so flavorful. I never would expect that kind of quality from a delivery. If you love bacon, which I do, I would STRONGLY advise against ordering their bacon since it’s just these silly little bacon circles that barely add flavor to it. I ended up ordering two more burgers on my next delivery.
I ordered their shrimp– the seasoning was pretty bland… just some pepper, I think, but I love the fact that they de-​vein their shrimp. It represents a clean restaurant that doesn’t cut corners, at least in my eyes.
My roommate always orders their steak tips and absolutely raves about them. I tasted a piece, and I have to agree. It’s delicious! If you get their loaded baked potatoes, just know that it doesn’t come prepared. You have to assemble it yourself– most likely have to pop it in the microwave to melt the cheese. I always eat mine the next day anyway.
My roommate loves, loves, loves their biscuits with the honey butter. I like them, but I don’t care too much for the aftertaste– though I’m sure that’s just a ‘me’ thing since everyone else loves them.
Overall I recommend this place to anyone who wants some good food. I will definitely continue to order from here!

First time ordering from Steak Express. I ordered online and went to the Monthly Specials section. I purchased:
*Steak & Shrimp X2 $ 24.99 2 — Choice Cut Ribeyes, 2 — 7 Count Skewers of Shrimp, 2 Salads, 2 Baked Potatoes and 2 Rolls.
Delivery was about as long as they said it would take. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the food was overall «ok». Everything tasted good, don’t get me wrong, but the «Choice Cut Ribeye» was very fatty and had a lot of tendon in it that had to be eaten around… tasted good though
Can’t really mess up broccoli, a roll, or a potato. I paid extra for the «loaded potato» and received packets of cheese, bacon, and sour cream. I thought it would be premade, but had to assemble it myself.
Overall the place isn’t too bad. I just think it may be a bit overpriced for what you get. I think this meal combo should have been more like $ 15, but obviously there are no other steak delivery places to be heard of, so they can charge what they like.
I’ll probably order from them again out of sheer laziness to cook, and curiosity to try one of their more higher end entrees to see what they can dish out.

First time ordering and I will order again if available. The steak was just perfect very moist and flavorful. The shrimp was good as well. Sweet tea was tasty. Delivery was very fast.

Their hamburgers are really good for the price! And they give complimentary free tea with pick up orders! And Mondays are half off burgers!

This place used to be awesome. My husband and I would order from here all the time and get a delicious steak delivered to our door. Then one time it was disgusting. The steaks were raw, the salad was rotting. We thought, eh, maybe it was just a bad night. Try again, again blech. Steaks undercooked or forgotten. Sides left behind. Still tried again, as we used to love the place so much, and they lost our order. Tried one more time tonight, filet raw and fatty, steak tips dry and tough. While their customer service may be good and they always find a way to try to make it better, it doesn’t make up for disgusting food. Last time we order from them.

We tried out Steak Express on the suggestion of some friends who offered to bring a to-​go order to our place. We had the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches (which were huge!) & we also tried the colossal NY cheesecake (wonderful!). The sandwiches were not the best Philly’s I’ve had, but they were OK. The cheesecake was great — but I’m sure it packed a caloric punch I don’t want to know about!
The offer delivery, so that is convenient and the prices are reasonable. I might try them again sometime.

I was lazy and didn’t want to leave the comfort of my hotel room and so I opted for Steak Express. I wasn’t expecting much from a delivery steak restaurant, but I have to say, I enjoyed my meal. I placed my order online (really easy) and then about a half hour later… *knock, knock* (faster than the estimated 45 minutes).
So, I’m going to sound like a real heifer, but this is what I ordered:
— 6 oz Ribeye Steak (cooked medium) and Shrimp — steak was seasoned and cooked well, the shrimp were nothing to brag about
This came with:
— salad — this was «meh». iceberg lettuce with a few shreds of cabbage & carrot, packet of Hidden Valley Ranch (this was disappointing)
— baked potato, loaded (extra $ 1.29) with sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon bits (real ones), butter — this was good, but come on, how do you mess up a loaded baked potato?
— yeast roll with honey butter — this was yummy
— Grilled Mushrooms (side order) — this was good, but I could’ve lived without it
— Southern Style Sweet Tea — AMAZING
— Colossal NY Cheesecake with Strawberry Topping — still sitting in the fridge
I pretty much ate half of everything. The rest is sitting in the fridge and since I hate to waste food, I’ll probably be eating the rest for dinner tomorrow (I’m not complaining).
Including delivery and tip, the meal came out to a little over $ 30 bucks. Kinda pricey in my opinion but I’m getting two meals out of it and I still have dessert. so I guess not so bad. I also need to mention that the food was packed really well and you get a moist wipey thing and fork, knife, napkin, salt, pepper, mint AND toothpick pack — a nice touch.
So. factoring in convenience, quality of food, speedy delivery, I’d give Steak Express a hard 3.5 stars. Since I can’t do halfies and since a 3 star wouldn’t be giving Steak Express justice, I’m gonna have to go with 4 stars.

Well I can’t say enough good things about this place. I ordered my steak medium instead of medium well this time and wow… it was even better than last time. Also, the kid that delivered my order was very courteous… II’m going to miss this place when I move to Ohio next month.
