Only my 3rd time at twin peeks and i would have to say the food and service i recieved today were exceptional and professional my server Ashlynn was working the bar area i will say i will be coming back on a weekly basis now just for a beer and a burger to wind down at the end of a work day. She was very kind and good at pushing me towarda a good beer not to mention pretty. Bar area was very upkept i never ran out of brew even the guy who cooked my burger did a great job and the guy with all the tats on his face was very active checking tables i guess making sure they were clean he even came behind the bar to clear out a bit of bar trash. I think i will be vack sometime next week 5 stars.

Let’s be clear: you don’t go here for ambiance. That said, it’s a good old-school Texas steakhouse I enjoyed everything — the drinks, the salads, the«Scraps». But you know what I liked best? The yeast rolls. I don’t usually eat bread, but these were so yeasty and delicious that I couldn’t resist. So good — like cake!

I’ve been here periodically over the years and the beef is consistently good. The prices are fair and the service can vary but has never been bad. They are currently going thru a dining room update while open so the walls are bare which puts out an unsettling aire. Also the lighting is all cold florescent which adds further to a Twilight Zone vibe. I love independent restaurants and favor them over chains, I want them to thrive, so please take this advice to heart. Put in warm lighting immediately and get something(even if temporary) on the walls. We drove past Texas Roadhouse after we dined with you guys and their lot was full. Don’t let the Mike Fernandez empire roll a great place like yours over, you’re better than that. Thank you for a great meal last night and thank you Morgan for great service.

I’m not sure why it is so difficult to find a restaurant in Texas that makes a steak well.(well, as in good, if you get a steak cooked well done you should stop eating steak) They were out of ribs, so the steak/rib combo was out. Unilocal seems to say«scraps» are amazing, let’s go with that. Disgusting. Overly salty, each piece was cooked at a different level ranging from medium to well(so… all over cooked). Once scraping all of the ‘flavoring’ off, the beef tasted like liver; that flavor is becoming a theme for steaks in this state as well. Everything else was equally unimpressing. Better than Zentner’s Daughter, but franchises are still leading the steak game in this town. …and that is pretty depressing. Service was good and if you’re looking for a dining experience where you don’t have to talk over piped music, this place will work. It’s very quiet. Almost creepy, really. The downside to this is that you’ll get to listen to all of the phlegm hacking from the table across the room. Thanks for that, 350lb guy. Guess you had some bacon stuck up there or something.

Not worth all the hype. In our case, the service was good but the food not so much. We ordered the combo appetizer — fried cheese, potato skins and stuffed jalepenos. Obviously frozen, not fresh at all, The items tasted the same. My rib eye was flavorful but very fatty(more than normal). My friend had KC sirloin which was under seasoned and dry. I won’t be going back.

The scraps are amazing and service is very good. Potato skins are a nice start there and they have great rolls. Not a fancy place and is definitely kid friendly. The prices are within reason for the area and hear the catfish is also pretty good too. Interior could use some updating but the food gets you passed this long time local gems interior decorating.

It seemed closed when we first pulled up, because it’s right at 5, which is when they opened for dinner; it picked up a little as we ate. The hostess greeted us with a smile and was very polite. Our waitress was nice but was a little awkward and seemed unsure of some things. We didn’t get her name, but she did fine. The cheese fries were okay, as well as my salad. The rolls were amazingly soft and delicious! And the steak. I ordered the KC Sirloin, 16oz, cooked at med-rare and it was the best damn steak I’ve ever had!!! Perfectly seasoned and stay true to the temp I requested. Will definitely be returning! The only thing I didn’t like was our waitress had her hair down. It was short, but could’ve been put into a pony tail; it made me a little weary of eating my food, but overall my experience was great! Oh and they have a full, open bar which I will be at next time!

I keep reviewing the place because I keep eating here. It is definitely still my go to spot in San Angelo. But I am downgrading this restaurant by 1 star. My complaint? In the past they placed two squeeze bottles of excellent, house made salad dressings on each table when salad was served. These dressings are excellent and I generously doused my greens. This practice has ended and now the kitchen very judiciously dresses the diners’ salads for them. Likwise, the excellent croutons that I became used to here seem to have disappeared. Hopfeully their absence was a one-night oversight, but darn those croutons were good. When they served them. Service still wonderful and the steaks still tasty. But little things like salad dressing procedures used to set them apart from the other steakhouses in town. Now, not so much.

Made a second visit here a month ago and forgot to update my review. The filet is still delicious however the service was not nearly as good the second time around. My husband made a reservation for a large party and requested their private room. We got there and they put us by someone else’s rather large party. So there we were, a large group of young air force students and a handful of instructors expecting to celebrate a graduation, seated next to a large group of elderly people expecting a nice quiet meal. We had two servers, one of which decided not to write down her orders. In turn many orders were messed up and sides were missed. Service was extremely slow. When it was time to pay we had only one server and she had no clue what each person’s tab was because they weren’t written down. She then had to go down the table rewriting down what the other server didnt. Overall I was not impressed. I hope the next graduating class chooses a different location to celebrate.

Peppercorn is the same as Paula Sue’s. They used to have good food, but we go other places now.

I feel like this place is a bit over rated. It USED to be great, but in more recent years, it has gone downhill. Our steaks have been over-cooked and the service has been lacking. For the price, there are MUCH better steaks in San Angelo!

Best steakhouse! When I think of a Texas steakhouse this is it! Old décor, great hospitality and amazing steaks. Big steaks and made to order. Great sizes and great prices. Beers come with cold mug and I mean Cold mug. It is so delicious. Food is amazing and staff is great. Highly recommend! Can get crowded.

At or below par as far as steakhouses in West Texas goes. My boyfriend went once for a quick meal and said the prime rib was amazing, however, eating there tonight was little less than great. His prime rib was mostly(ALL) fat, but cooked according to temperature. Our sides of mushrooms, baked potatoes and grilled veggies were okay… just okay. I will recommend the honey chicken if you’re not eating a steak. The sauce was very nice, chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very West Texas, not-so-fabulous with matching dingy carpet. The bar allows smoking, which drifts freely into the dining area. Maybe I’m just kinda bitchy about smoke, but it’s pretty noticeable.

Smoked prime rib tasted great. It tasted great and was cooked perfectly. We couldn’t order it till 1800 and we figured we had a few minutes so we ordered up some pickles and mushrooms. When the quantity of fried goodness that I would pull out of my garden arrived, we decided then and there this was the place to go. Oh and they have Shiner on tap. win.

It was nothing spectacular. The food was average at best. We were really hungry when we got there so our standards weren’t too high. The salad was a regular house salad. The bread was really good though. We ordered the fried pickles and they were too salty for our liking and really thin. I was used to thicker pickles. The scraps steak was okay. Very bland. My steak and the steak of my friend, which was a center cut sirloin tasted the same. The price was comparable for the value.

When I visited San Angelo for work, my colleague from San Angelo promised me the best steak in west Texas, and that’s exactly what I got at Twin Mountain Steak House… the best steak that I’ve had in years.\ The food is the most important thing here, and by that I mean the steaks. I’m a Ribeye man, because I know my steaks and it’s the best freakin’ cut their is. My steak was medium rare, seasoned and cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and dreamworthy! don’t even want to describe anything more, because the steak is worth the trip alone. However, I will continue: the salad was delicious and tossed table side, and the sweet tea was, well, sweet tea. The onion rings were my colleague’s favorite, but they weren’t my favorite style of rings(still tasty though, of course — they’re fried onions afterall). The atmosphere is that of an aging, rustic steak house, and has that old timey rural charm. Certainly not a pretentious steak house, with lots of taxidermy on the walls to make your remember you’re in Texas. In the end, if you want to enjoy Texas beef, and one of the best steaks you’ll ever have the pleasure to eat, visit Twin Mountain and order a Ribeye. You’ll be grateful that you did.

Dined here tonight based on the great Unilocal reviews and was not impressed. The restaurant is quite dated and in need of a good scrubbing and remodeling. Dark wood paneling covers the walls and wood shutters block the light available from the windows. Carved animal heads and a stuffed turkey decorate the walls. Acoustic tiles and dark fans decorate the ceiling and a dirty print carpet covers the floor. We were seated at a table near the hall to the restrooms. It smelled foul. My dining partner came back from the men’s room almost sick to his stomach from the stench there. Our party of three ordered chicken fried chicken, «Scraps»(pieces of filet) and a rib-eye. All entrees came with AUCE salad and rolls and one side dish. The salad was iceberg with a couple of baby tomatoes and what appeared to be home-made croutons. Two salad dressings(parmesan peppercorn and ranch) in plastic squeeze bottles were left on the table by our server who offered to exchange them for other flavors. The rolls were soft and warm but not worth the calories. The chicken fried chicken and Scraps were decent as was the fully loaded baked potato ordered as a side. Another side dish, the garlic mashed potatoes was served at room temperature and lacked seasoning. The rib eye lacked flavor and was full of gristle and had to be sent back. Service was friendly and efficient, although the kitchen was very slow. We had to wait 10 minutes from the time we finished our salads until our entrees came. All in all, not a terrible place to eat but certainly not one I would return to.

Well this was just okay. The décor is tacky– I mean, a huge CHristmas tree with shamrocks on it? I don’t know, I guess I was expecting something nicer, not something with carved animal heads and a stuffed turkey with its wings all spread on the wall. Service was painfully slow– in fact at one point I told my husband if nobody came to actually help us in the next two minutes, we were leaving. It was really, really slow. Other guests were totally loud– it was a Saturday night and one table had a screaming baby, there was a small group of very drunk women loudly chatting in the bathroom. I don’t think they realized how thin the walls were(or how short their skirts were… you’re 45 not 24, ladies!) The service just wasn’t very good and we didn’t have a nice dining experience. The servers were nice, but they were running around like crazy and our food and everything was VERY slow, and then all of a sudden they were all vacuuming and some lady who must have been in charge was directing them to move furniture and everything, right next to us. I get that they were closing(but had the service and food been timely, we’d have finished completely about 30 minutes earlier!) The quality of the meat was good, but it just tasted… funky. I am a salt & pepper and«leave it alone» kind of steak fan, but my husband was bananas over the scraps. He LOVED it so much! He was very content with it. Also, they were able to accommodate my food allergy and bring out lettuce that I could actually eat. The pecan pie was phenomenal! The fried pickles were flavored well, but a little too dry and way too salty. Baked potato was very plain– the skin could have been seasoned with some sea salt or something, but it was okay. So overall, not bad, but not amazing. I’m just glad that I didn’t really dress up like I wanted to for this big date that was our first in so long, because I’d have felt really out of place!
