Really disappointed by the BBQ. Mainly because of its lack of any sort of taste. It wasn’t terrible or gross, but it wasn’t good either. The ribs were the best out of what we tried, and the chopped brisket the worst. The chopped brisket was dry and tasteless and the ribs did not fall off the bone but had a decent enough flavor. Their sides were not good. At all. The sausage was standard.

Their barbecue is amazing! Everyone in San Angelo loves it! The only thing is I think their menu items are a little bit too true to the name. Their sausage wrap is literally just a sausage wrapped in a tortilla. There is no sauce, veggies, or anything!

Referred here to eat the Piglet Special on Monday. Not disappointed as it comes with sausage (I had jalapeño sausage) ham and pulled pork. Also drink and a side for about $ 7.00. Kind of divey but most good Texas BBQ places are. Prices and BBQ well worth it.

I loved the turkey! My bf had the sausage and he loved it. Their bbq sauces were pretty good.
Their portioning was perfect. Their employees were very helpful and friendly. If I ever come back to San Angelo, I’ll definitely come back.
Overall, great great experience. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out!

Had the chicken plate meal… Chicken was very juicy, hot and fresh. My sides were Mac salad and green beans. All very filling and tasteful!

Pretty disappointed.
I was excited when I walked in but disappointed when I was finished.
I got 2 meat takeout with green beans and cole slaw.
First meat was a chicken leg quarter and it was pretty good. The bbq sauce was pretty runny and didn’t add much flavor to the smoked meat.
The brisket I got was ½ fat. The meat itself was ok, but not great by any means.
Green beans were not very good and coleslaw was pretty tasteless.
I give 2 stars because the chicken was good. Everything else… meh.

Everyone talks about the pulled pork sandwich… Never had it, but had the multi meat plate so I feel like I know what it would taste like… dry. Add more sauce? nope, dry. In order of deliciousness… Jalapeño sausage, ribs, brisket, pulled pork. There you go. The sausage has a nice kick to it, the ribs aren’t bad (need a lot of sauce) the brisket could be better, but it was late when I went, so that may have had something to do with it. The pulled pork. meh. Not sure why it gets so much attention. A large sandwich does not instantly make it a good sandwich.

Good was decent. I ordered the chicken plate. They didn’t have white meat, disappointed. The plate came with two sides, I had the pinto beans, really good but burned my finger taking of the lid, and macaroni salad which tasted like macaroni with mayo and not much else. The chicken was pretty bland and not real hot but the sauces on the table were amazing and made it possible for me to eat the chicken. The texture was good tho and it was really moist.

The first time I came here (visiting my son) I got the brisket plate. It was really good in flavor and not dry. The BBQ sauces are also really good. The sides… not so much. The potato salad was meh, the cole slaw was bland (needed acidity). The corn bread… okay. The next day, I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was good. Loved the sweet tea, too. My husband noted that there wasn’t much of a smoke ring… something that his Kansas City roots notices.
Why not more than three stars? While the food was good, it wasn’t the best ever– especially the pulled pork. So far, Kansas City wins for the five star BBQ. Still, it’s worth coming here.

Awesome BBQ joint. The chopped brisket is incredibly moist and my favorite part of the menu. I found the turkey to be too dry, but I loved the macaroni salad and beans. They have such amazing sweet tea, do not, under any circumstances, leave without drinking at least 5 cups. or 8. Really quiet and casual atmosphere inside.

I’ve enjoyed my food choices every time I’ve been. Pulled pork sandwiches are $ 2 every Wednesday! They’re a bit small, but just get 2 & you’re good to go. Their beans are the best beans I’ve ever had. I absolutely love them.

Excellent BBQ for the price. Went here on a recommendation when I was here on business and was not disappointed. Place is very small but I think that adds to the experience. I’m considering stopping here again tomorrow. BTW, Monday lunch special was called a «piglet» and was delicious!

Very disappointed in this place. Food was very inexpensive but fatty, tasteless and not as hot as it should be. They provide a variety of sauces that taste sweet or overly spiced. Didn’t bother to finish the ribs, the brisket was only passable, but cold.
FYI, no alcohol and I like a beer with my BBQ. Go someplace else. There’s lots of other choices in San Angelo.

Very good barbecue. The chopped brisket was very flavorful and the ribs were delicious. Also, having three different options of barbecue sauce (traditional, hot, and sweet) was provided an extra variety of flavors to add. The green beans were cooked just right and the cornbread muffin tasted homemade.

Wow! Went there yesrerday, first time in a very long time. First time I had the pork ribs. By far the best ribs in town. The rub was spot on, and I added just a little of their sauce they had on the table that was not nessasary but added a great flavor. Potato salad and beans were traditional and great. Just what you would expect. I dont know how many bbq joints I have been in that screwed the beans and potato salad up because they wanted to be different. Bubbas ROCKS!!! Will be up on my list of places to go back to time and time again. Really, I cant remember why I havent been back other than it is not on a busy street in a part of town I travel. But now I will remember!

Great barbeque. One of the bbq type places you can quickly get a meal for lunch, not a place I would recommend for a long sit down dinner. However, the food was cooked well and there seemed good options considering the inexpensive prices and small location. I have a soft spot for places like this because sometimes you just want a meal out to be simple yet tasty and this accomplishes that well.

Worst barbecue I’ve had in a long time. I’m not sure how this place gets such good reviews. I’ve been before, and it’s always mediocre at best, but this time was unusually bad. The beans and the tea were pretty decent. That’s where the two stars come from. The pulled pork was flavorless and dry as a bone. Actually, I think I’ve knawed on bones with more juice than this. Also, when you order «beans and cornbread», do you envision hard, ice cold cornbread muffins? Yeah, me neither. I won’t be coming back. The worst meal I’ve ever had at Packsaddle was better than this.

I’m qualified to have an opinion. Get the RIBS! Deano calls ‘em Candy Ribs! Sweet, with a slight glaze. Their sauce is excellent, but you may never get to taste it! These RIBS are just tug off the bone, delicious. The sides are excellent (get the pintos)! RIBS and light bread! Mmmmmm!

First place we went when we got to town. It was recommended to us and def worth it. BBQ is Texas style and very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. Great place near airport.
