This place has the some of the best ribs I have ever had. The rub they are using is astonishing. Solid brisket as well.

Coming from the east coast. Thinking of TX, you think off good ol’ BBQ! And this place did not disappoint! Brisket was so tender and fall apart, the pulled chopped pork was my boyfriends favorite! Sooo flavorful even without the BBQ sauce. Which was delicious as well. As for my favorite?! The ribs! Fall of the bone pork tenderness. Mmm just drooling thinking about it. The potato was eh could be better but surprisingly the coleslaw was so good! Refreshing and tasty. Prices were reasonable and service was alright. The only reason it’s not a 5 in my books? The place itself needs a major facelift or tidying up for that matter.

While we enjoyed our meat(Combo platters) of ribs, sausage, and brisket with sides of beans, cole slaw and potato salad, my husband got some serious food poisioning. The only things he ate and I did not werr the potato salad and sausage. It was very disappointing because we really enjoyed our meal and flavors. His stomach is way stronger than mine yet he ended up in the bathroom for 12 hours, and then sick in bed. To the owners — please make sure you do not have anything serious going on. Sadly, we won’t be back.

Bland bbq, negligible smoke, just plain bland. On the other hand, what nice tender texture and the chopped slaw and potato salad were great. The condiments were chilled and the area clean and the sauce was warm(had no kick however) and service fast. Oh well.

2.5 for the food. Brisket was dry and stiff. Although it had decent flavor and was more tender than I expected it to be with how dry it was. The sausage wasn’t much more than a glorified smoked hotdog but it wasn’t bad. Just not great sausage. The service gets it up to 3 stars. But the sauce puts it up to 3.5 for me. It was actually the best part. But I don’t like having to drown my BBQ in sauce. If I’m ever in town again I’d probably try something different.

Well first time ever writing a review. First time trying this but I had too. This place honestly sucks. Foods boring. No flavor. Brisket was dry. Everything I had was bad not even ok. Very disappointed. If your looking for boring tasteless food then this is it. No excitement when it comes to the food an atmosphere. Never be back. Hopefully some place in town can make decent BBQ…

The best BBQ in San Angelo. Great chopped beef sandwiches, smoked turkey, beans, potato salad, and pie.

It’s pretty good here. Nothing fancy. Just your good old fashioned wood smoked bbq. In today’s society though, change is inevitable. Mix up the ingredients, put a little thought into the menu and get some variety.

Awesome BBQ! Went for lunch and was not disappointed. I got the pork ribs and brisket with the spicy barbecue sauce. It was hot and fast and delicious. For side I got the baked beans and coke slaw. It came with two slices of bread and all the jalapeños, pickles and onions you like. I’ve tried a couple other places in San Angelo and this is my favorite so far. My co-workers got the pecan pie and it looked pretty great too. I highly recommend it!

Best Ribs I have ever had! The sides(beans&potsalad) and slice brisket were not good. Then dessert was good. Had brownie and pecan pie(filling was great.)

Very friendly environment and the food was better than any other place! Even better than the BBQ in Florida!

Nice friendly place. A good variety too. Ordered at the counter, my name was called a few minutes later. The food was served hot! I had a chopped brisket sandwich with cole slaw and ‘tater salad(needed more mustard). My brides had a sausage sandwich and the ‘tater salad. Both sandwiches had a great buttered and toasted bun. Barbecue sauce was served warm, not room temp or fridge freezing! The sauce was served separately, not mixed into the chopped brisket, as most seemed to do.

Everything is great here! I always get a slice of their pecan pie and eat it first so I make sure I have enough room to get it down! I’m buying a whole pie for the holidays, to share of course

Chopped brisket is the way to go. Warm BBQ sauce is served on the side with every order. Buttery Toasted sandwich roll was tasty as well. Two sides are rather small servings, but tasty nonetheless on the #1 sandwich platter. I opted for the cole slaw and potato salad. Slaw was not too Vinegary or too juicy, it was just right. Potato salad could’ve had a bit more seasoning or kick, maybe some extra paprika or mustard for some tang.

We stop here frequently on our trips between San Antonio and Lubbock. Best tasting BBQ sauce anywhere(which they sell in bottles, trust me, just buy some!) food is always excellent, friendly folks, NOT a chain(which is refreshing!) try it, you’ll like it!

This was our first taste of Texas BBQ, and WHAT a welcome. I realize it’s a chain, or franchise or something — maybe? it has labeled sauces and clothes and such — but it felt authentic, which is the important part. Great BBQ served on a tray with some slaw and mac in styrofoam containers. Best pulled pork I’d had up to that point — great, and they have some good sauces to go along with it. Husband had the brisket. and some ribs. And we loved everything.

OMG! The ribs here are delicious. The meat is very tender. It almost falls off the bone. I ordered beans as a side. I expected the olé regular baked but instead I got pinto beans mixed with ground meat. The flavor was unlike anything I have had. I will have to come back at least on more time while I’m in San Angelo.

I was recently passing through San Angelo and decided to stop for lunch. On a whim, I stopped at Bodacious BBQ. My lunch was quite nice. The service was friendly and very efficient, the food was pretty good, and the sweet tea wasn’t bad either. Altogether I would say this is pretty good BBQ joint if not slightly overpriced. I had the Postman sandwich which is chopped brisket and sausage link. The brisket was tender, although I didn’t really love the sausage link. Their house sauce is a bit sweet, more like a KC sauce. Would have liked it to be a bit smokier. The sides(potato salad) were pretty good although their selection is very limited, I would have liked green beans or okra. Bodacious BBQ is a decent spot, nothing special.

The BBQ was average — nothing super special. The Sunday special was a good value — it came with ½lb of 3 meats, 2 sides and bread for about $ 22. The third meat(hot links) we didn’t want so they upped our other 2 servings to ¾lb each. Then we got some ribs on the side — the dry rub on the ribs was AMAZING! Really good and flavorful. The service was polite and it was a good BBQ fix.

I was visiting my husband in Texas and the night before I was due to leave I realized we hadn’t stopped for authentic Texan BBQ anywhere in Texas! So I Unilocaled around and found Bodacious Bar-B-Que. Thankfully, it was still open! So on our way back from San Antonio we stopped off to grab some dinner. I can hands down say this is the BESTBBQ I’ve had! The meat was full of flavor, their sauces are delicious. And gosh-darnit; they had the best sweet tea I’ve ever had! The pulled pork I couldn’t stop raving over. The brisket was tender and delicious. Portions are very reasonable with their prices likewise. Just thinking back on eating here is making my mouth water and crave more of their BBQ! Will definitely go to again if I’m back in the area. Can’t get this place out of my mind.
